18 Sep 21 Cobourg Ontario Salmon and Rainbow Fishing in the Blue Zone
มุมมอง 3073 ปีที่แล้ว
I pulled my boat out the morning of 19 Sep 21. I fished Fri and Sat out in the blue zone and landed 6 Salmon and 8 Rainbow. I also caught a Lamprey and used it to chum the waters. Video is short with just one salmon and the rainbow with the Lamprey catch. Would be boring to watch me reel in 14 fish. I was solo as my family went to their grand dad's for his birthday.

A very hot weekend, but no wind. Did the 35 KM trip off shore into the 400 ft deep areas a couple of times over the weekend, and there was plenty of fish. Only got a little bit of video due to the heat the batteries and camera were getting super hot; so i kept it off most of the time. There was a lot of fish. Hookups were non stop.

Owen Sound Aug long weekend 2021 salmon fishing on Georgian Bay

I spent 4 days in Owen Sound visiting with the in-laws. Well i was fishing, and my wife and kids did the visiting. Great place to fish, and we did very well. This is some of my catches and break offs. Last clip is a 21 pounder. Largest I have gotten on Owen Sound in the past 5 years of fishing there. Only got skunked 1 time out, and that was when a friend I met online and his son came with my S...

Fuel pump went on my boat Friday evening on the way back in. Fished Sat morning with a friend from Cobourg, and crippled out on the 15 HP kicker Sat evening and Sun morning. Had my Army buddy with me and we managed a few fish. A shaker, a rainbow, 12, 18, and 21 Ib Salmon. Last fish on the video is from my previous trip with my son; netting a 23 Iber.

Fished Fri morning landing 3, Fri evening landing 1, and Sat morning landing 2. Went 6 for 6. Biggest was the last one at 23 Ibs in the Pic at the end of the video. I deleted the video on that one by accident. My son is always asleep still for the morning fish.

My son and I left Hammond at 6 AM fishing bound to Cobourg Ontario. We arrived 10:30 AM and got some snacks, prepped the boat, and heading out for deep water by noon. Started in 250' of water and by 4 PM we were out to 310' of water, and that was when the action started. We went 8/10. 2 Salmon and 6 bows landed.

I have always used spoons for salmon in Georgian bay. I would like to learn how to use flashers and anchovies. Can you recommend a website or article that would explain?
Great video fishing on Georgian Bay
Beauty fish !! Sis did a good job netting that beast considering it was her 1st time :) Good job buddy
Looks like ur around the reddoors
yes, The big one was just up pass the red doors. I normally don't fish that area much. I trolled into the area late in the morning after everyone else had already went in. I got lucky.
Have only returned to rigging for salmon a nd rainbows. Always was successful out of Bluffers in TO. but after 15 yrs break back at it last year out of grafton and now I know why I never got a hit. Because I was trolling to slow. Nice boat and great fishing thanks for sharing your video
Great videos of your fish.
Nice catch man
Seems they have actually moved into shadow water this week. Hooking them in 70-80 fow tonight.
Man I have been itching to catch a decent Lady O Coho all year, NOW I know where they are, you've been hoarding them!
Anyone been out in the last week or two? Any luck? Depths? Baits?
Nice fish did you guys get your main working I saw you guys heading out on the kicker the other day
Yes, installed a new fuel pump. A piece of Teflon tape clogged up the carb, but cleaned the carb and blew out the Jets and everything was running A1 again. I mention it in the next video after this one.
@@Rizher01 good to know I saw you run out on your main it was a good bite deep last weekend they should be hitting hard this weekend in close
Next time I see you on your boat I will pop by I saw you one day and said I liked your catchs
Love hearing that drag 👍
Are you finding the fish are eating alewives? or smelt?
Alewivies I assume. Not 100 percent sure.
You must run your hottest setup on that starboard rigger, you always take hits on that rigger it seems!
It's the one I always have deepest with an anchovy. On Lake O I run the port side downrigger with an anchovy also 20-25 feet higher and I still take fish on the starboard. I have seen fish come down from 40 feet past the one at 55 feet down to the rigger at 80 feet. Dunno why.
Man you guys had a great few days of fishing and some fabulous fish !! Congrats
Great video! Just curious as to how much of a lead you put out between your ball and hook when using flashers and chovies?
12-15 feet
Looks like you had a great couple of days there !! I love that you fish with your son, that's awesome. ;) How deep are they running out Cobourg way ? I'm in Brighton and they're out in 150' -180' most of the time I find.
Seem pretty deep right now. Can still get a few inside 150, but most success is 250+.
@@Rizher01 Thanks buddy. ;) Yeah it's definitely an odd year compared to past years
Calm before the storm nice catch i saw you guys going out when we where working on are rig at the slip
Awesome fish bro!
There are some nice catch’s there for sure
Great video
Nice catch, the east side of lake has been productive for king salmon
Great catch
Hi wondering what you did with the old grew. Any chance that is for sale and tuned up?
I have been using it for parts. It does not have an engine at the moment. I was going to finish stripping it down in the fall.
@@Rizher01 I was looking at a used Grew 204 with a Merc 165. Looks in good shape but was concerned about parts for this engine and service. Is it easy to obtain replacement parts? What about service - I am in the GTA
Yes. Boatparts.ca in Toronto. Good prices and great guys.
Nice goin' !!! Love it when the kids get so excited ! ;) Fishermen in the making. Terrific video .
The young lad did a great job
I fish out of Mississauga and do pretty good as well
Good stuff my buddy!!!!
That was an awesome day of fishing !! Good on ya !! ;)
Well done! You had a great season... looks like all your fish came off flasher fly combos!👍👍
It was flasher / anchovies :) A few at the end of the season on flasher / fly. i ran out of anchovies !
@@Rizher01 very nice... I'll keep my eye out for you next season and say hello
Awesome buddy! Looking forward to next summer already.....
Hello ! I love fishing, thanks for the vídeo. Boa dar from Toronto are there this place?
How far from Toronto ?
@@alicedossantosmartins.9641 it is about 2 hrs drive from TO.
awesome video keep it up!!
Do you ever throw any back??
Not often with salmon. Give it all to family and friends. I have nothing in my fridge at this time.
Great day of action !! Loved hearing the little guys excitement at catching his 1st fish of the summer !! ;) That's what it's all about !! Congrats
Nicely done!! Great videos!!
Awesome fish! I’m planing on running meat when I come up with my pop’s! Seems to be hard to find though. I found some hearing strips and some hole anchovies. What do you use? Looks like you have a longer leader ? Thanks for your time Luke
I use anchovies mostly. If you use the East side boat launch there is a fishing tackle store just across the road; opposite the service Ontario building. It's call Watson's. They sell anchovies and herring there. My leader is generally around 6 ft. In the video I used a whole herring. It was about 10 inchs. I starting rigging a rod on Lake O like that recently also. Seems to work well for bigger fish.
Great video ! Me and my pop’s are heading to Owen sounds form sept 6th-12th we are just hoping the wind allows us to get out
LOL the Leafs gang 5:20
Lovely job Uncle thanks for sharing it
One man show! You have it down to a fine art. Well done
Well done! What lures were you using if you don't mind me asking!?
Green and yellow spoon had about 4 hits. not sure what it is called, and the other one hit on a blueberry muffin spoon.
do you ever fish lyman without flasher? if so...what speeds do u run with and without?
tanker I run a Lyman with dipsy diver when I have 3 or more people. When my son and I fish it is generally anchovy on one and Brads cut plug or Swedish pimple on the other. speeds generally 3.5 km/h
i noticed your 2nd pole released just before you switched sides?
