For a double door that does not have one door that locks, a good technique is to carry a wooden wedge. Kick it in firmly to the gap at the bottom of the door remaining closed and the curtain can still be used. Just be sure to kick the wedge in firmly. A couple of wedges can be kept within the curtain bag and I'd recommend every fire fighter cart a couple in the fire kit. Very handy to carry for numerous reasons but another use in this scenario is to keep the open door open and or push right back against a wall if a self closer is fitted.

It is a good one off guide for firefighter interview tips minus the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my cousin after many years got excellent results with it.

When’s crawley going back to having retained Firefighters?

I’ve almost just completed a firebreak course but it had to be scrapped at the last minute due to bad behaviour on behalf of some of the students. I’d like to thank Graham, Ryan, Woody, Katie, Angela and everyone else who put up with us this week, through choice, when they could have scrapped the course on the first day. Thanks for giving us a second, third and however many other chances you gave us. Also, thank you so much for inviting some of us back to the station in two weeks time to complete our passing out ceremony. It means a lot.

I heard rumours of retained returning to Crawley?? Is there any truth in this?
