To all vegans or vegetarians out there that are vegan for the cause I am a farmer who grows lots of the crops that keep you alive including soybeans. You are worse than this person. Baby deer do not get up when your combine header gets close to them they just hunker down and you don’t see them until it’s too late. For 1 Field which feeds a person for roughly 2 months at best you will kill 5 baby deer in total because that’s where moms go to have babies because food. This cow will feed this person for the better part of a year on one cow and unlike the baby deer it actually gets used and not just washed down a grate and left to rot. Vegans don’t help anything. The dominion movement and all of that is a complete lie please ask questions before you let the internet dictate your life we have animal cruelty laws for a reason. This steer was loved and pampered until he died to feed the ones who once fed him so it’s a cycle of give and take….being vegan or plant based does not save animals from cruelty. Animals are not forced to have babies they are animals they naturally want to have babies on heat cycles. Ask me anything I will answer anything truthfully just know the truth may upset you.

I am not an expert on cattle either. I have learned a few things over the years. If one is lacking minerals / vitamins, it is likely all are. I have been told calcium deficiency can cause a cow to be down. A neighbor gave me a book on beef cattle. I minimized the value of it and put it aside One day I took some time to skim through it. I was amazed at how good it is. Lots of great detailed information inside. The book is Storey's Guide to Raising Beef Cattle. Mine was given to me, but it is worth whatever you would have to pay for it. How long have you had cattle? Also the minerals are recommended to be fed free choice and available at all times. I hope your cow makes it through this.
