When I had this installed they told me not to drive over 50mph or the thing might fall off. Any feedback?

Was looking into buying this for my wife's 2021 RS as a surprise but after seeing it's mounted by 3M tape, I've changed my mind. Pretty sure she would kill me for putting tape on her car.

just installed one on my 2013 GS. Looks great, haven't had a chance to try it out yet but hoping to this weekend, if the weather co operates. Install went fairly smooth, instructions were pretty blurry, like too many copies of the same original. Thank goodness for TH-cam.

How did you connect the light rings w/no dust shield?

I would like to see one of these with very dark tint. It would keep out some light/heat from the cabin and would provide a lot of the privacy of dark rear tinted windshield, but the cops couldn't give me a ticket since it's not actually tint on the windows 😆. Also would help when you are stuck in front of someone with their bright lights on. Come to think of it, maybe I could buy one of the clear ones and just put limo black window tint on it.

Very helpful video, thank you! I’m not sure if the video was a different model Z4 than the e89 (2009-2018), but I found a few differences from this video when installing my deflector on a 2009 e89 Z4 that are worth noting. First is there was approx 1/4” foam padding with a wire channel, instead of adhesive on the bottom of the deflector. Second is the 1/2” bolts are too short. I needed to replace bolts on one side with 3/4” length #10-32 bolts to complete install. I also struggled a bit with the tail light power clamp, but got it to work eventually. I’d recommend the 12v or battery options to power the illumination. Those spaces in the z4 trunk near the wiring harness are difficult to reach...

Surprisingly poor product, shockingly poor service. I ordered the single-colored WindRestrictor with accessories and paid a pretty penny for it. When I finally got the package, it had the wrong accessories. Getting WindRestrictor to send me the correct one was like pulling teeth - it took multiple emails and phone calls before I got them to send the correct items. The whole time they made me feel like fixing their screwup and sending me the correct items was an unwelcome burden. Beyond getting the wrong parts, I am shocked at the poor quality of the deflector. The metal frame holding the lights is loose and rattles. The clear plastic has a crack in it, and the etching on the plastic wasn't completely done right. Parts of it are uneven and are more 'see-through' than other parts. It doesn't look nearly as nice as the pictures they show. I really can't express how disappointed in this supposedly 'premium' product.
