1947 International Harvester McCormick Deering O6 (Orchard) Tractor.

Despite it's outward appearance and it sinking into the ground where it had been, it turns out this tractor has a very good engine and transmission in it. The engine was loose when I got it except for a stuck exhaust valve and froze up brakes. After pulling the cylinder head and a service of everything it's running nice and operates quietly. From what I was told, this tractor came from West Gro...

This is the first time I've had this engine running since I got it early 2023. Had to pull the cylinder head and fix a stuck valve.

Wow what would that have been in?
the best music in the world is the sound of steam engines working hard going up a Hill
That’s cool 🤠 I haven’t seen that yet 👍
Also, seems like there should be a lock on the drive axle, to get both drivers turning together?
That weighs over 5 tons, probably. That is a lot of torque to be able to lift that boiler.
He needs weight in the front. The water and coal on the back is counter weighting the vehicle, lifting the front wheels off of the ground.
Do Fricks have provisions for locking the differential?
@@nathanielspoelman9881 yes they do
@@Primerk5 You can definitely tell that it makes a huge difference
@@nathanielspoelman9881 TBH it wasn't locked in. I don't believe this particular machine has the locking block in it at this point. Fricks had them this one just doesn't have it in it.
What is the % grade?
45-55% depending on the part your on
🙂🚝
for those looking in the comment if he go up... that pos aint going nowhere...
Seems like it could use some weight over the front wheels
The little engine that could. "I think I can, I think I can..."
Thank you for explaining why cogged tracks were invented.
Great video, sorry I missed it and thanks for sharing, looks like a great day Sat !!!
I was set up in the small engine area down in the bottom the first year they did this. Seems like it was 25-30 years ago.
I think I can I think I can I think I can
And I did
Ha! Those contraptions will never catch on! Every man knows you can't beat a good team of draft horses. Use your head.
Funny enough the anti right to repair/over complication of the modern equipment has pushed some back to horses i was just last Saturday at a draft horse pony days where ten local farms here in southern ohio were doing field tillage with draft teams and modern horse plows even myself am trying to replace my reliance on feed stores and tractor baled hay for horse drawn equipment
That's a good driver!
Love the old machinery. It is too bad there is no over head picture or view of this.😊
Sweet piece of kit
that's awesome !
Thats in very nice shape !!
Very nice and nice looking associated!
@Primerk5 caught your tractor during the parade of power On Saturday
very nice😊
Thanks for sharing and sorry I missed it
I want one of those for our old 651 work master
I saw a horse drawn one of these from John deere sell at a Amish auction last weekend the thing was a museum quality restoration I hope the guy who bought it gets tons of use out of it I really hope I can get to the point of making equipment look that nice for my friends in the horse shows and local Amish communitys
We had one of those tractors when I was growing up. I spent many hours baling hay with it. I remember one summer when we had 104+ degrees and dead calm days every week and had to go make bales on those days every single time. "Gotta go do it now 'cause it ain't gonna get any cooler.' is what Dad said. Yea, dad. its 104+. I'm pretty sure it gonna get cooler in the evening or tomorrow. That tractor was so hot I couldn't touch any part of it without gloves on. Stupidest stuff ever. I miss that tractor. Not the other part.
Very cool !!
A little rough, but she's all there. Very beautiful tractor and it runs really well; love it.
How much berryville has changed it has changed tremendously compared to that year
👍
we had on back in the 50s on the farm great Unit
Could we see some up close action? From the right side and a close up from the back. Let's see how it hooks up and raises and lowers. Wanna see also how it connects to the pro. Please.
Absolutely love it. I only have pull type trip plows...I use a super h to pull with.
The plow isn't running level. The front is too deep
I bet that smells divine after being stood up for so long? Regards 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Those tires have seen some miles.

Very nice runner !!
That’s awesome.
Steam feature again 2025
I could watch these all day lol
Loved the before and after
Sounds nice !!
Hey I saw that truck there! Love that mack
Powerful bugger ain’t it? A bit on the slow side but gives the impression that it could keep it up for a very long time… thanks for that, steam powered equipment always fascinates me.
Very interesting. 😃
