I've got that exact same weed eater and I've never had any problems with it. Overheating and I run it a lot more than 10 minutes. Usually a full battery and then some and it's never shut down. Maybe I just got a good one

Good Lord, man - how long are you going to circle the airport before you bring this plane in for a landing? This was so frustrating to watch I could not get through the entire thing. I was looking for a quick fix - not a life story! Geez.

I'm glad I made it until the reveal. This is a logical fix and likely applicable to other tools with the same overheating issue.

I didn't see the finished product with the second fan installed. Did I miss it? If it works , why doesn't the unit you showed have it on there? Wouldn't it be better to by a new one and install the 2nd fan right away? I just don't understand, if it worked, why isn't it on there in the video?

Great video I tried to locate a used motor, unable. I did not want to create a out of balance condition with just any 2" fan or just gluing it on. I had the unit apart so I drilled several 1/4" holes around the area of the controller, worked perfect I now love my weed eater

You are the man, very clever! I can't count the numbers of methods I used to attempt to remove mine and failed. This worked like a charm for both sides of my Sedona. So effective that I tumbled backwards because it came out so easy. Note, I had to center the ring and rotate the axle a few times before it would come but it worked great. Got to give credit where credit is due. Lastly I used two vice grips to get this to work

After spending over $200 on my Ryobi trimmer and still having to jump thru hoops to modify it so I doesn't overheat, is unsat!. Ryobi should have addressed this issue before marketing the trimmer. I'm going back to a gas trimmer. As far as I'm concerned, my Ryobi trimmer is garbage. So disappointed in my first foray into electric trimmers. Pretty good video, though. A little too long before u got to the point, but still good info.

I have that issue but it happens immediately, I don't believe it is overheating. It only runs for a few seconds and stops. I tried three different batteries with the same issue. I just need to release switch and press again. I have the 40v. The same thing happens with my 40v Chainsaw. Any thoughts?

Make this yourself in a pinch. Cut the boot cover off of the axle you removed. Insert the axle back in. Put locking pliers on the part your trying to remove. If your locking pliers are locked hard enough , you can slam the cv axle against them and it will pull out the piece your trying to remove.

If you plan on keeping the car, consider saving the longer half shaft for the next time you run into this issue. The longer shaft will give the tool more mass, and you’ll be able to use it away from the wheel wells, gaining more leverage over the tool.

I did something similar with my slide hammer, ii modified one of my claws to fit the adjustment screw of the 10” vise grips in a 9/32” channel I ground into the claw attachment. I simply used the slide hammer and it worked perfectly the first try! All that was left was the inner bearing cup, and my screwdriver and a “sharpened” and trued flat small pry bar couldn’t get behind the cup.
