I understand that you have your reservations about this trailer and tend to be more nitpicky because you've been a long time fan but coming from somebody who's never really cared for superman, this trailer moved me. The score they used has such a beautiful build to it and the "superman" chants they incorporated made it feel epic. The opening shot of him completely beaten down and wheezing terribly pulled at my heartstrings. Watching him try to catch his breath in an attempt to whistle also broke me. Didn't even know he had a super dog, like how cool is that?? Anyway, just here to report that the trailer did its thing, I'm hooked and i will be sat at the theatre on July 11th to see what Superman is about.

This was an excellent trailer. I’m so happy for a brand new take of the new greatest superhero of all time. Superman finally comes home to an action.

It's crap .... suit's crap, Gunn's gonna F it up .. and Snyder should have done a JL 2 ... Krypto is the ONLY thing that was good about this trailer ... :P

Yeah. I'm not sure what you watched. Maybe you over hyped yourself or something. That teaser was magnificent!

The scene of a beaten Superman vulnerable in the wilderness was symbolic of the Superman franchise. "Take me home", followed by the scene of him saving a child, foreshadows the film's return to the roots of what Superman is; a symbol of hope.

I’ve watched the teaser a couple of times, and a distressed Superman wasn’t the opening I was hoping for either. I’m not a fan of the suit, and the guitar strings weren’t particularly appealing. Hopefully, the official trailer will improve upon this and bring something more uplifting.

The first time I watched this, I was like.... super dog?! Really?! Is this a joke? (I did not know the dog's name, I've not watched everything and don't read the comics.) Then all the other characters show up, and I was like oh this is a hot mess. Then I read up on it a bit, and now I'm quite excited for it. I love the color and how bright it is. I went back to watch the Man of Steel teaser, and it was practically in black and white. It was much more somber, and not nearly as exciting overall. I think this will be good.

If your interested to get hyped for the movie, Id recommend watching and reacting to TH-camr Matt Draper's superman comic retrospective videos. They do a wonderful job exploring the greatest supermen stories with sincerity and joy that they can make you smile seeing the best superman cna be.

10/10 performance! WOW!

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion. The electric guitar is just an intro, a little homage to the original theme that's all. It's not like it's the whole soundtrack of the teaser 😂.Why so pissed about it? Anyway, I liked Henry as Superman, but I think David is gonna do a good job as well. Gunn is going more comic accurate than Snyder did. Snyder really did his own version of Superman,which I didn't mind. I think it's possible to like both. Cavill has my favorite Superman suit, but I don't mind this one either, it's comic accurate. Gunn is trying to bring the comics to the screen, he's created more buzz for DC in this short time than they've had before. I can appreciate both interpretations.

Luna, I respect you for not following the crowd and for being honest. Only well-rounded adults can truly appreciate that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. For me, seeing the first frame of an injured Superman didn’t bring joy; it naturally sparked concern. So, I completely understand why you weren’t as excited. Keep doing your thing, and engage with those who understand the value of subjectivity and difference of opinion.💕

When you look at Snyder's Superman you literally see Henry Cavil. When you look at Gunn's Superman you see...Superman.

Why does everyone seem to think that if Superman bleeds? Ripton must be involved? That’s not the case I think people have seen Batman versus Superman too many times Batman could never hope even with a mechanical suit to match Superman. He needed the kryptonite to even the odds a little bit but as long as Superman is fighting someone on his level or more powerful and they do exist of course he can bleed. Superman fighting a human being is like a fully grown human man fighting a three-year-old. It doesn’t matter how many punches a three year-old lands. It’s not gonna phase the adult Superman once told Lex Luther that he felt like he lived in a world made of cardboard always having to be careful how we touch something or someone. Now it would stand to reason that another let’s say kryptonian fighting Clark and there would be bloodshed, broken noses, bruises, cut lips, and that’s what I don’t like about man of steel man of steel him and God going at each other. There should’ve been more damaged to both of them and there wasn’t and that was disappointing.

I'm 73, and apparently much more open-minded than you. And why do some people want Superman to be so one-dimensional ? I'm just not understanding this reaction.

I’m optimistic that it’ll be a good film, but I am slightly concerned that Gunn’s reboot seems to lean more towards a team-up movie rather than focusing solely on Superman. Agreed, Guardians Vol. 2 was great. Vol 3 was decent. The Suicide Squad 2 on the other hand was a waste of characters, only to set up Peacemaker.

Now look I'm gonna be real here I found Tyler Hoechlin's Superman to be more compelling than Henry Cavill's. I don't hate Henry Cavill I just wasn't a fan of his Superman. I wasn't a big fan of the DCEU in fact I hated it but I loved Henry and Ben. They did the best they could with the awful material they were given. I'm excited for this I like what I saw and I can't wait to watch it.

It’s hard to argue against the idea that a Russo-directed Superman movie would be spectacular-their body of work speaks for itself. I wholeheartedly agree that *Infinity War* was a near-perfect film, showcasing sophisticated writing and an impressive level of care for the principal characters-a remarkable achievement, especially given the film’s scale. The Russos truly accomplished the unthinkable with Infinity War. Additionally, I really enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and while Vol. 3 was good too.

The Russo brothers would be an excellent choice. I completely agree about Infinity War -they truly set a new standard with that film. The box office clearly reflects how much people generally loved their films.

Can you even imagine if the Russo bros directed Sup...? That’d def be a billion-dollar banger, no cap. I’m obsessed with the Russos. Totally agree with you, but tbh, I’m also a big fan of James Gunn. The new teaser kinda slaps-it did its thing. That guitar string moment? Lowkey caught me off guard, but I think they’re trying to vibe with a younger crowd. Can’t believe you think this movie is going to be bad. The electric guitar in the start was an amazing twist on the original theme song!!! Then half way through the music Switchs to a full orchestra for the rest of the movie!!! You are missing the very important reason why the movie started out with seeing a man of steel that can be hurt

I love Superman and especially DC but forgive me but I can't support a movie by a director who thinks that pedophilia is funny and throws a pedophilia theme party. This pedo creep should have nothing to do with DC studio's who's main audience are kid's no judgement on anyone in here but for me this is so wrong.🤮😡

I am very surprised that your take on this trailer was so negative. Additionally, this take on Superman, to me, seems more reminiscent of the classic Christopher Reeves movies...and I'm almost 50, so I can relate to that. This is definitely not a "new generation" take on Superman 🤷

I say let's just wait and see the movie. ''Wakanda Forever'' trailers got me so hyped for the movie and after I so it I thought was a pile of hot garbage. Trailers are always deceiving in one way or another, that's why I take them with a grain of salt.

A lot of times Superman is shown to already be the world's champion, whether it's in animated movies, or in live action, or TV shows. But, to give him that vulnerability and show him at his weak points will make him more human. Then, build him up for people to see he can be earth's greatest protector with time. They have to learn to accept him, before he can be truly powerful, but in a good way. Which will also help him believe in his abilities. Just like Henry Cavill's Superman, and Brandon Routh's. Because Reeve's version was taught by his father in the Fortress of Solitude to understand and hone his abilities to grow stronger. Tom Welling's version had to gain all his abilities through his teenage years in order to use them the more he aged. He wasn't at his true strength, until he met Lois Lane and learned to fly. Only then was he actually the Superman that his parents knew he'd become. Even Lois sensed it.

I totally agree with your reaction! When I first saw the trailer I thought it was good, but after several watches, it just doesn’t age well. Very derivative of what’s already been done.

It’s refreshing to see a hopeful Superman. I think the opening with him being beaten could show how they’ve gotten the character wrong for so many years. But hearing the actual Christopher Reeves theme inspires hope which is what the character embodies

Showing him hurt wasn't what expected but i get it to show he isnt just this ultimate being that he gets hurt. Probably symbolism for how people trashed the character of superman. I looooove that score! Hey, dont hate on guitars. It's a fun take on that original score, lol. we actually didn't have that on man of steel it was in a different context, and you hate people chanting Superman? How can you not find the music epically stirring? It's amazing. The trailer is superb. I just don't get your negativity.

I'm a lifelong Superman fan since the original 1978 film; that said I did enjoy the trailer overall but I'm still remaining cautiously optimistic about it. I don't like the choice of costume nor am I a fan of the electric guitar version of John Williams classic theme. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the film delivers with a good story.

Respect your opinion n maybe a few would agree. But we have to put this movie into context of what it is against what you’ve seen before. It’s meant to be based on the comics look n story. Orchestra theme would’ve been too similar to the original. Nice to have a different opinion though
