Dr. Jenard Moore, I hope this message finds you well. I recently had the privilege of watching your dissertation defense, and I wanted to take a moment to express the profound impact it had on me. As a single mother of two sons, I found great enlightenment and inspiration in your work. As I embark on my own dissertation journey, I turned to TH-cam to find examples of dissertation defenses, and your presentation stood out to me. Two elements particularly resonated with me: your invocation of the word of God at the beginning of your defense and your focus on a topic that is incredibly relevant to young African-American males. As a mother of two sons who have pursued higher education-my eldest at Northwestern University in engineering, who chose a different path after three years, and my younger son, graduating this year with honors from an HBCU in cybersecurity-I see the significance of your work. Watching your defense was not only emotional but also motivating and methodical. It reminded me that the journey of writing and defending a dissertation is challenging yet rewarding. Your dedication to supporting future generations of Black males as they enter HBCUs and build their careers and families is commendable. Though your defense may be complete, I am confident that your work will continue to make a substantial impact. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and representing a powerful vision for the future. Great job Dr.Moore! I appreciate your wonderful presentation!! Saying this I have questions for clarification ! How is it possible to use theoretical framework in transcendental phenomenology? You would have to reduce your preconceived notions but you invited it in the form of theoretical framework.Is that right? I am confused? Is there something wrong with my understanding of the distinction between transcendental and hermeneutics phenimenology? In addition how it is possible to use FGD to explore lived experience ? FGD is a method of opinion exploration than lived experience ,as far as my understanding is concerned .I hope you will respond clearly.

Dr. Moore, I am so godly proud to have found this video. I am at the same school and just submitted my defense-ready dissertation. So excited about your next, I will quote my favorite passage from the Bible in a time like this one. "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him" (1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV).

You are right on the money with everything you say, especially "not comparing yourself to others." Everybodys time to excel is different. I had to learn that. When I was in my doctoral studies program, I was older than the other students and the professors. However, I celebrated every victory no matter how small. I am proud of the success I have made in my life.
