    Every American should watch this video; it's incredibly important. I would particularly focus on the comments by Dr. Denny Roy who has extensive knowledge of Taiwan (authored a book on the subject, Cornell University Press) and is a University of Chicago PhD. He knows what he is talking about (my former colleague).

    We have an opportunity that if we changed anything that happened would not be possible but we have to start now and enough people have to support positive. KEYS. LEAVE JUDGEMENT AT THE DOOR AND COME IN WITH AN OPEN MIND AND COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION. IT'S actually the key to peace.

    The U.S big mistake is to dropped its claim to the Philippines in 1990. This is what the Chinese been waiting to claim the entire South China Sea and bully its neighbors including disregarding the U.S not to get involved. Also since early 80’s the U.S knew that spratly’s are the next flashpoint and still they left the area. To @Ray Powell Jonathan Malaya address n called this blockade. Persistent engagement hasn't resulted in escalation so far, so far... but that says nothing about escalation and cross-domain escalation risks in the future. I'm not against defending forward but not fearing the dog just because it hasn't barked yet seems like a bizarre rationale.

  • @tinatang1
    @tinatang1 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why is this discussion based on the right of the West to counter or contain China's rise? Every country has the right to develop peacefully like China! China has not attacked/fought a war against any country since 1979 whereas the US and Europe have fought 200+wars in the same period. This shows the US and Europe are aggressive and hegemonic, NOT China!

  • @tinatang1
    @tinatang1 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Global South does not share the Collective West's attitude towards China. EUROPE should cut its umbillica cord to the US and form her own foreign policy towards China and the Global South.

    When Chinese are doing better economically it' becomes a threat to Western society. Maybe the West should reflect on their immoral domination and destruction of China in the past. Karma is coming to haunt the imperialists. You can shout Racist propaganda but you cannot hide from your murderous past.

    Response to wat ? China's threathening Europe ???? NATO is a military organisation, dun forget tat. HK is now peaceful & prospering. unlike NY or Europe. Asia is largely peaceful, thanks to non western interference. Xinchang is a tourist attraction, not like Afghanistan Iraq Libya Syria Yemen. Face Reality. The West is out. From Africa , M. E., S America, Pacific islands, Asia. Asia, Africa, S America all wants a GREATER China and we're doing wat we can to accomplish it. It's prospering, as wif Africa. The BRI is God sent. The BBB Initiative is so transparent in it's dealings tat it's work is invisible. RIP NATO & 2nd gen colonisation. Check Kishore Mahubani blog. A Far more accurate analysis on tis subject, from a non western perspective.

    This situation with China was constructed decades ago , when Jimmy Carter signed an open ended trade agreement with a country that had a billion strong slave workforce that one signature he destroyed western industry and created capitalist/ communist China. From that moment on we have seen the slow distraction of the US as a superpower . Let’s not pretend the present obsession with climate change is nothing more than a sham as China the worlds worst polluter continues to sell their goods to the west, as we destroy the remains of our industry to meet impossible green targets.

  • @bonkersblock
    @bonkersblock 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    For decades Philippines have IGNORED its military modernization thus turning the country into a military protectorate of the United States! Not a military ally! Philippines MUST put away substantial amount of money to give its services a substantial capability to operate both of n peace time and at war! It’s no brainer that if a typhoon hits the country that Philippines doesn’t have to rely on American black hawks or c130s just to deliver aid to affected areas! As for external defenses? Philippines is either capable or once again be relying on US 7th fleet to keep china in check! FUND YOUR MILITARY!
