The trouble with trash - Mini Documentary
This time I'm following the litter pickers, groups of volunteers trying to banish litter and rubbish from our towns and countryside.
Littering is a big problem in the UK and a costly one. Even with the large amount of money already spent tidying it up, without the help of volunteers like the West Lothian Litter Pickers and the many other groups across the country, the environment would be in a much poorer state than it is today. A truly selfless and inspirational group of people.

Absolutely wonderful video…so good I showed to my wife in an attempt to hopefully appreciate the hobby of model engineering. Well done to the folk who dedicated so much time and effort to build the railway.

Even as one born into the digital age, I've always been fascinated by both the craft of model engineering, and old time machines and technology in general. Model engineering covers everything I like, from locomotives to engines and vehicles, and even machine shop tools and clockmaking. It's a craft I wish to pursue in the future 💙⚙️

Excellent short documentary Kris, it really drives the message home about the epidemic litter issue the UK faces. I'm going to share this on my local litter picking FB group.
Thanks Robin! I have to admit, I didn't realise how bad it was until I took a trip out with these good folks. I can't imagine what it would be like if they hadn't been devoting so much time towards it. Scottish government are currently working on a litter and fly tipping strategy so hopefully that will tackle some of the causes. Much appreciated!
@@scotdocs1794 surely the short to medium term solution is heavy fines and get litter wardens out again. Long term is education. I'd like to see our local high school kids out doing monthly litter picks as they make a mess of the High Street every lunch time. 😂
@@WalkWithWallace Yeah, I think so. The schools in Japan have a great system where the kids help clean the school at the end of the day to teach them responsibility. Definitely need to make more facilities for lorry drivers and mobile workers as well. Some pretty disgusting stuff to be found in area's where they park up.
@@scotdocs1794 yeah could learn a few things off the Japanese. Uurgh, don't need the details. lol.

GET YOUR MINIATURE STEAM TRAIN RIDE HERE !!! Maybe it would have been wise to tell the General Public, that Model Engineering is actually widespread. Certainly in Central & Southern England virtually all medium to large size towns have an engineering club with outdoor tracks, usually OPEN TO THE PUBLIC at Weekends or Sundays for STEAM TRAIN rides !!!!

been to a place like this in Vancouver canada, its amazing to see these models but its also funny to me that our love for trains lead us to making mini trains to ride for fun. kinda wish they got creative with the models too i mean why settle for the classics when they could design the model shell to be anything like a future looking train or what ever

I Love Modell Trains! You have to Check Out <Swiss Vapeur Park> in Switzerland. It's the BIGGEST modell Train Park i know.... ITS HUGE!!!!!

I've visited a few engineering societies, but have to say that the setting the Armdale engineers have created is one of the most beautiful.
