I did not know that the campground is a no-fly zone, apparently you did not either. Why? Because the sign posted in the office says specifically "no drones allowed" by the campground. Indeed this is class G airspace by the FAA, but the campground does not allow them. I did the same thing two years ago, flew around briefly then got approached by angry campers telling me they are prohibited 🚫. I immediately could totally understand why, as they also stated, people go camping to be in nature, to be tranquil, to listen to the sounds of the ocean and birds and animals. Not an annoying, buzzing drone. They also feel a privacy violation. Way out in the middle of nowhere to find peace, and someone's buzzing/flying camera is above them! I'm a drone pilot, love flying my drone, but also agree they are annoying as hell in nature. My story ended there, talking to the person who was annoyed with my drone, and I totally listened and understood 100% why campers would not want to be bothered by "noise". I am going back in a couple weeks to camp/boat/fish and adventure as well, and I now also hope everyone is informed of the policy before they also annoy their neighbors. You probably just didn't see the sign, like I didn't, nor were you approached by angry neighbors yelling at you about your drone 😅😂 like I was lol. Plenty of photo ops there w/o aerial shots anyway. Glad you guys enjoyed this magical place though!

I have such wonderful memories as a child of Wolfeboro. In 1968 my uncle purchased land known as Port Wedlen. We were the second house in after the model house. We vacationed there until 1994. I was 8 in 1968 now I'm 63 and looking to return to Wolfeboro but no longer drive and trying to find another means of getting there if anyone can shed some light on my being able to do so I would very much appreciate it.

Great location but let's not invite too many strangers to our hidden gems in maine please.. we hate people and don't want more of them in our special areas no matter how nice they are they can get lost and not come back this is our state

It looks like you both enjoyed yourselves. I live in NH- I am very familiar with the locations you visited. It’s crazy to look at it from another’s perspective. As a child it was one of the best places on earth, as an adult I still enjoy day trips to Weirs Beach! Weirs Beach boardwalk needs some updating- I would say! If you ever have a chance on a busy hot day in the summer if you sit on the right hand side of the beach ( if your on the beach looking at the lake) near the rocks- watch the Cigarette Boats come and go… they are really something to see!!!!

The hotel you stayed at used to be an old logging railroad yard. I used to snowmobile through that area when it was still a railroad yard before that hotel was even built. These days I like going further north to snowmobile. But sledding in the Lincoln area is still a very good memory for me. 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
