Hold 1 to pull out your torch or use a nighthawk potion. You can buy nighthawk potions from the Rattay Apothecary but it's cheaper to make them yourself. You can get the recipe from the Rattay Apothecary or from Treasure Map XVIII

I like brewing potions in KCD, I find it to be quite relaxing.

I love the crime dialogue. There has been so many times I've punched someone in the face only to have the guards run up to me and ask "WE HEAR YOU'VE BEEN ATTACKING PEOPLES LIVESTOCK"

@@yianniassimakis2285 amazing how Henry is only 10% done but is lv 20 with lv20 Strength, Agility, Speech, and Vitality.

I think it either has something to do with the infamous perk or just the extremely low reputation Henry has in Rattay, it could also be a combination of the two. Either way this is the first playline I've done where the guards attack me randomly in Rattay and it's also the first time I've gotten the Infamous Perk but not the first time I've had low reputation in Rattay.

@@retro3265 The better your speech stat and your reputation the easier it is to haggle, this Henry has a horrible reputation and has plenty of groschen so I don't risk getting his order declined

Thank you for watching! One thing the game doesn't make very obvious is that your character skill levels are very important. The max level is 20 and this Henry has his Strength, Agility, Vitality, Sword, Defence, and Warfare skills all at level 20. He also has Herod's sword which has very high slash damage and good defence stats. This along with some potions and very good armour (other than the helmet which is only decent, I chose it because it doesn't block out the screen) allow for this Henry to stand a fighting chance against pretty much anything the game can throw at him. Of course player skill also matters but that just takes a lot of practice. I have around 715h in KCD on steam and I played on XBOX gamepass for awhile before I got it on steam. When you say you are trying to get rid of the bandit camp near Sasau forest are you doing a quest for Captain Bernard or one for the Sir Sebastian vom Berg? If you are doing quests for Captain Bernard get your combat skills up to around level 10, if you are doing them for Sir Sebastian vom Berg get your combat skills up to 15+. I recommend going to Captain Bernard and doing combat practice using training weapons. If you use a shortsword you will take no damage even if you unequip all your gear and if you choose longsword you won't take damage unless you get hit while your stamina is very low. I've spent countless hours training against him and it made it so I can't lose 1v1 fights. Don't worry too much about combos until you are comfortable fighting using just master strikes because it gets very overwhelming. If you want to win group fights consistently it takes a lot of practice and a lot of dying, just save somewhere and ride around the roads. Don't panic and don't care if you die, just focus on keeping all enemies in front of you and work on your master strike timings. It might take a lot of time to become good at KCD but personally I found the process of becoming better to be extremely fun.

@@themaroonedsailor3347 The Sebastian vom Berg bandit quests are quite difficult so you might want to try using stealth to thin their numbers or bane poison on your sword or some arrows. This Henry has terrible luck with his archery but can't forget Captain Bernard's advice.

This Henry has a very low reputation in Rattay because he commits many crimes. This causes the Herald to want nothing to do with him.

@@montyyardleynjust like the best-clips from your playthroughs etc. I thought this video was about 10 minutes of killing bandits with bow & arrow but its only a long walkthrough of riding around and finding bandits ... It wasn't a bad video. Kingdom 2 will be out soon though maybe you can create content for it which will make your channel grow 🐉🐉

@@asaiira Thank you for the input, I should have some time to make compilation videos between finishing my current playthrough and the release of KCD 2 which I already preordered. If you like longsword fighting I recommend looking at some of my newer videos because even though they aren't compilations some of them have a lot of combat. I've been putting chapters in my videos for a long time now so it's easy to skip to the combat.

his character is some type of strange bandit that gets drunk the whole time, he has drinking lvl 20

This Henry hasn't eaten any food and gets all of his nourishment from either alcohol or potions. He also never sleeps except when quests force him to, which has only been once.

I'm starting to get used to it but yes it can be quite frustrating. I honestly prefer horse back archery over melee.

I was wondering that too. I think either the guard is bugged so that he can "see" me enough to say something even though he can't actually see me due to how far away he is or maybe this Henry's sneak ability that allows him to get an early warning before being caught while lock picking is bugged making it so he hears the guard even though the guard isn't actually coming to check.

I think you can report back to Kuno after finding the raiders instead of killing them all yourself but I haven't done that before so I don't know if you do a group fight with Kuno's band or if you just report back to Sir Radzig after that.

I don't currently have any Henry's with level 0 alchemy but I'll make one when I have time because I like this idea. I also don't remember what level this Henry was when I made this video but when I make the new video I will show perks and inventory both before and after brewing.

Just a slight correction of my OP: when you make a potion without owning the recipe, the amount of steps you again is actually (or also?) based on the amount of potions you created, not on the amount of steps you completed. How do I know that? When I reached level 4, I tried the recipe again but skipped the last step that tells you to boil mint and sage. Nonetheless, that part was added to my alchemy book since I brewed 3 moonshine at the same time. (before level 4, skipping that step resulted in 2 moonshine instead of 3).

@@azzor4134 You are right, it seems to be impossible to brew 3 moonshine at level 0. I tried around 20 times and only got 1 or 2 moonshine each time at level 0. I plan on trying again when I have more time because I'm interested in figuring out why this happens. My best guess is the game considers it a "mistake" to grind the sage/mint at the beginning but it takes longer than 1 turn to grind something so you can't grind it in the middle without making the mistake of taking too long to add it but I haven't tested it enough to confirm this guess.

@@montyyardley your guess is as good as mine, but I think where something (don't know what) goes wrong is when you try to boil sage and mint. Maybe something to do with how much you boil, or the recipe is wrong and we have to do something else entirely

@@azzor4134 I tried various timings for boiling the sage/mint between 7 and 15 seconds using a stop watch before distilling and they all ended with between 0 and 2 moonshine being created because I was trying to rule out boil timings but I didn't do enough tests to completely confirm it isn't the issue. I also tried grinding the sage/mint separately as well as together.

Henry plans on donating it at the church some time before the next ice age.

KCD is very underrated, definitely one of the best games I've ever played.
