I always enjoy your videos, the treasures and your informational show and tell. I Think the Royal Norfolk 2 toned tall mug appears to be a brand seen at the Dollar Tree in the USA, similar to Poundland.
Gosh you emptied the shelf 😂😊😅
Each is our favourite shop, they know my grandchildren by there names,I’ve had some fabulous bits out of there
Love the 'sugar-nip' pot; the Victorians were genius at design. Maybe invest in a sturdy trolley for next time you plan to visit the first charity shop, again?! Hope you were parked outside it, on this trip!
Oh Nic, surely the cutlery set would have been the item you needed for your challenge!
Wow - what a great selection. I would be lucky to find one of those in any of my charity shops.
Was there anything left in the shop?!!!! You did so well and those charity shops are so cheap and so much bric a brac'.
Did you see that you both had a glowing recommendation from Lonnie (Shed Flips) in his latest vlog?
I would def have bought the knitted sweep - so adorable ❤
Lovely items.
Hi are any of these items still available please
Try taking a rubbing, like we did when kids, may help you decifer the jasper ware pot.
you could sell sand to the arabs if you can sell that rubbish
Wow! Such good finds, you certainly picked the right day to go 😊
It certainly was your day, Andrea. So many lovely things.
leaches taking under cheap goods intended for under privileged or people short of cash and selling on for massive profits
I use one for random ends of thread, which later get incorporated into my weaving or felt
Thank you for the video, 😊 keep up the good work 👍
I'm sitting here with a cuppa and a biscuit, and enjoying the video. Like another commenter, I also took a fancy to the mirror and candle holder, but I thought you might have been interested in the Scottie dog at 4.44. I would have bought him in a heartbeat.
What a lovely day you had and beautiful scenery to add, I would have taken the brass/copper effect mirror with candle holder you did look at, if the price was right 🤔
I was in two minds about it, but the candle holder itself was very rusted. I think I’d have bought it if it was in better condition.
Very interesting video! Can I ask why you decided to go from selling clothes to breakables? Xx
It’s mostly because I was loving learning about vintage homeware and not loving selling clothes as much. I don’t regret it. I’ve definitely found something I’m really passionate about :)
@@andreahills74 I love selling vintage homeware too. I’ve sold clothes in the past but I really don’t enjoy it. I find it too much work washing ironing steaming and even taking photos is difficult. I’m loving your homeware videos. Great tips too! Xx
@@marinaagathangelou4049 Yes, that’s definitely a factor for me too… I can be a bit of a perfectionist and it was taking so long to list clothes.
@@andreahills74 yes it does take too long and I find it boring. I love listing toys and games too!
@@marinaagathangelou4049 Yes they can be good fun to deal with 😃
Should come to Sudbury. There's loads of charity shops! 😂
I love Sudbury… we’ve been a couple of times 😊
Lovely video. What could be better- dogs and charity shops and Bristol?
When you picked up that mug and said, 'same' #legend 😂
😂
I appreciate it wasn't a terribly lucrative day, but I REALLY enjoyed this video! The music, the scenery and the personality of the sellers gave me Victoria Wood vibes!
The village was stunning ☺️ If only I was half the talent that Victoria Wood was 💜
Just working my way through your videos. You probably know by now that the strange Tea pot is a bird nesting ‘box’ with drainage and fixing holes.
Ooohhh, no.. I hadn’t solved that mystery. Thank you! 😃
Beautiful village. Remember that design from the 60's. Jeff really looked as if he had a wonderful time. Just remembered that teak bowl you lifted up from the ground, I had one of those plus servi g wooden spoons back in the 70's.
I loved the bowl, but the price was a bit steep 😬
I saw a yard sale advertised in my locality in West London. ( Never see them here!) Was so excited and full of anticipation! It said there would be 15 stalls. I went and was so disappointed. Only 7 stalls and seriously a load of tat!
Oh no! Thats a shame. Sometimes there can be just a handful of stalls and all you need is that one stall full of wonderful things.
Your video was so calming I love the footage because it shows the highs and lows of looking for stuff 😊😊
I do love the sleek two tone designs that Poole did. I used to visit the pottery regularly as a kid because my mum loved collecting bits of pottery, especially the dolphins. BTW you pronounced Choisya correctly assuming it was named after the plant with the same name. Thanks for the interesting video
Hi Andrea, love the videos. I used to work for Poole Pottery back in the late 1970s painting Delphis (I wish I had kept more of that when I had the chance!) and the stoneware you showed at the end. Re the blue coffee pot with the pink lid …. I think the style of the lid might date it back to the 1930s. The lid was updated to the round one (the one in the photo you showed) in the 1950s. Don’t know if this makes any difference to the value but it might be worth looking at further.
@@moonkooks2385 That is really something. Was it a pleasant place to work? I always imagine that working for Clarice Cliff in the 1930s must have been sheer hell.
@@rosemarymee I loved it , and it was a great place to work. Good pay and good conditions and a good camaraderie amoungst the women (it was all women in the painting section!) But that was back in the seventies , things are totally different now, I’m pretty sure what it was like back then doesn’t exist now. Interesting what you say about Clarence Clift back then in the 1930s ….. I wonder what is was like because workers rights would not have been so developed and since the 1980s has been eroded……. It’s all stress and targets now.
Great to hear about your experience at Poole Pottery.
Really enjoy this series ❤
I picked up a poole pottery vase and sold it to a Facebook collectors page and got 750.00£ paid 2£..... I was convinced it was very modern .... obviously wrong !
Hello I am a new subscriber I live in Cambridgeshire ❤ if you would check out my channel ❤❤❤
Good luck Andrea 😊
Enjoyed the video Andrea x
Thank you for this really informative video. That Celeste colour is lovely .
Hi Andrea. Am.lov8ng thus series thank you for sharing. Also love Poole. Prices certainly depend o where you are not as common in Australia so more expensive. Am going to pop to the big house. Lol Am in dower house these days. And see what you have that may match xxx good luck in the competition have voted xxx bless cheri
I found a gorgeous Poole Pottery Volcano pattern platter at a thrift store here in California. I intended to sell it but after about five minutes I fell in love and it now has pride of place on the wall of our breakfast room. I’m always looking for more. Thanks for teaching me more about wonderful British products.
Thank you Andrea for the video and your time🎉
Andrea this series of different makes is really great… Like you I really love Poole pottery, and other MCM British pottery and design..think it is definitely under valued and also people really don’t know much about it… The younger generation would really appreciate the lines and colours and simplicity of the items you showed… they are simply stunning 👍👌… Your prices are too reasonable… but understand the need to move them on (sadly)….missed the midwinter one.. must look it up!!…are you going to do J&G Meakin in the series.. some good design there too…In fact British pottery of all kinds are groundbreaking and fabulous ❤️❤️ thank you for highlighting Poole Pottey 👏👏👏 Sue (Bham)… big fan of your videos.. as you know !!
Loved the video, I didn’t know anything about this maker. I don’t even think I ever saw these pieces, or maybe I was just blind to them. I particularly liked the blue coffee pot and the olive green one ☺️
Yes the olive green one is my favourite too. I love the design and the colour ☺️
@@andreahills74 I really think you could get more than £10 for it ☺️
@Angelasvintageshop You’ll now find that you see them everywhere and hear them talked about on TV. This happens to me a lot.😊
Great video, lovely to learn more about these types of items
Charity shops usually change their stock on the shop floor every two weeks. They rotate their stocks from shop to shop and GT Yarmouth would definitely get the stock that the other shops could not sell . After Yarmouth it will probably be ragged. It’s the same in poorer towns.
Are you buying to sell on or to keep and use??
We saw the silver horse in the second shop,it had a mouth that looked like it was laughing
St John's street has some lovely shops and charity shops. Each is great for children's games and toys and there's a couple of others as well.
did you ask the price of the set of 1920's blue enamel kitchen jars in the first shop on a pine unit
Charity shops and Cath Kidston 😅I have come to the conclusion that they are basing their prices on how popular it was 10 years ago! The fact that none of the physical stores exist should probably give them a clue.
Lovely to see some footage of Norwich. I was a seller in St. Gregory’s back in the day. It’s a beautiful old church, I have ancestors who married there in the 1800s.
It’s great when you find products with made in England on the bottom instead of China
