Pilot Up North - Flying an Arctic Freight to Kuggaruk (First Leg)
Hello Aviators.
My name is Gilberto Fonseca, I am a Multi-IFR Commercial Pilot and I live in Canada.
The Channel was created in 2023 when I was still looking for my first opportunity to get into the Commercial Pilot career and the purpose of the channel was to show a little bit of the step by step and of course, the differences in the training of a Private Pilot in Brazil and a Commercial/Multi IFR Pilot in Canada.
However, in July 2023 God blessed me with a job offer, and I was then hired to fly the ATR42/72-500 and the 202/212/2012A/300/320 variants.
So, after receiving clearance from the company's operational safety department, I was authorized to film and share my experience with all of you flying up north "Arctic".
This is just the first video of many to come from now on.
In today's video we are going all the way up to the Arctic flying the ATR72-202 to Kuggaruk in Nunavut, Canada.
It's a freight flight where I had the chance to make many nice shots including ATC and Cabin audio recordings.
Oh yep, we have all the checklists up to After Takeoff Checklist.
I hope you enjoy the video!
So, I'll continue the Private Pilot Series and I intend to post the videos both in Portuguese and English.

Looks more like 10 to 15 meters…NOT MILIMETERS‼️
nice but its sped up
Helli🐈 helli🐈 🔥
Omg😂
Helipussy💀
Its reversed
You don’t say 🤔
No way really?🤯🤯
You are reversed kandice
"Heavy pussy heavy pussy" 💀💀💀
I'd love to travel in the old prop powered tin cans, looks like an un beatable experience
Me too. Specifically on the DC6.
Yes, FPS (feet per second) of nose drop.
what is the "down at 1.5"? speed of the nose dropping?
Usually 3° glide is desired for any airplane during the approach. Probably they are 1.5° nose lower than that or maybe instead of 3° they are only 1.5° shallow.
Love the slip… it’s more fun in an open cockpit plane.. but still very cool, ailerons into the wind and full left rudder (sorry had to edit, it’s been a while )😢
Exactly. I love it too. Do not forgetting to put the nose a little bit down too. Helps to do nose increase the AOA too much
Pretty plane
How is there even enough room for balls
Awesome landing. Definitely an E ticket. All safe? Perfection
Good for an C152 pilot but definitely not for an airline pilot flight a jet with pax on board
It’s called very good experience 😂
“I’m aboutta make a NAME for myself over here”
Это же с этой площадки недавно взлетал Величайший😮🎉
That is an excellent landing. You’re just jealous of his skill.
He did it cause he can.... brush up and catch up guys...
Bro thought he was flying a bush plane.
It’s what I mean.
damn son
He wore the knees outta them pants,as he came slidin' in !
That's great that he landed there, but, how is he going to take off?
Fly straight off
Rev up real high and let off the brakes. There's actually a competition for shortest take off and landing
STOL airplanes doesn’t require much space to land or takeoff!
That parachute should be 10x bigger.
You should show a comparison video of luggage handlers who don’t show respect for peoples luggage!!!
I’ll do that. Easy to find a video with the other side.
Show the US side by side with this 🤭
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Americans truly disrespect luggage and packages on the daily.
The same here in Canada … I hate it
The clip of the woman with the pad I think is actually a Chinese airport
It’s not. It’s Japan
Eeeerm... Couldn't you just put a pad there..??
you will see that there are pads there
@@davidrodgers9919 Very true brother. My point was more about putting a fixed pad there, rather than a human holding a pad, that's a fair point right?? 🙏🤷🏼♂️
Hehehe I thought the same.
In America they throw them, and if you have electronics they break
Everything about the Japanese culture is great. They’re always so meticulous and do things the proper way and efficiently and it looks so eloquent.
Especially imperialism!
😂😂😂 I knew one motherfucker will have some negative response even though imperialism was before he was born. Drink some haterade why don't you
I agree. It’s a such amazing culture and people.
O kurrrwa! 😂
I prefer the P51-H-5 over the D.
That's a lady! I bet no dude wanted to go up there. Cowards.
“Maybe take a nap… God knows we will.” *Starts Hyperventilating*
free palestine
take nap on my balls
This is what you see on spirit airlines
These pilots are the real OG’s 👊🔥🔥🔥
Just hope there was no children there
That was diabolic😂😂😂
Pin me
👆🤓
The mountain range in the background looks awesome
They are really awesome. I love mountains.
Спиртом поливайте.😂😂😂
Красота хотел бы я так полетать.
If I didn’t see it with my own 2 eyes, I wouldn’t believe it!
He is one hell of a badass!!
Ok...I'm subscribed! Looks like you are having a great time on the ATR. I always wanted to fly to Sanikiluaq... have you done that trip yet? Can I ask how many hours you had when you were hired at Calm Air? Did you know someone in the company that provided an internal reference? Did you have to sign a training bond? What commercial flying experience did you have before joining Calm Air? Eager to hear your response!
Hello. Yes, I flew to Sanikiluaq many times already. I call Sani “the moon” once it has no trees and the rocks are reddish. I had 280 hours and internal reference. 2 years bond! I flew C280 “safety pilot” and PA31 as FO. The safety pilot hours didnt count for the 280 total. I gave 137.3 on C208.
El sonido más hermoso de un avión p51
I agree. I love that sonido
Mi sueño mas grande seria solo escuchar uno de esos y para que decir si me invitan a volar, pero soy de un pais que no nos toman en cuenta
Keep dreaming and doing something to make it true. You can get it!
SHE has more “OOOMPH” than most men, awesome!
Absolutely yes.
Called ‘Whistling Death’.
“Whistling Death” was the F4U
I love this whistle a lot. Feel years ago I had a P31D RC. It’s amazing.
El avión caza de la ➕Rápido k 🇺🇸 construyó al final de la 2da Guerra Mundial, el Mugstan
I love Mustangs … airplanes or cars. I love all of them
