I’m 27 and had to live with Glucoma since birth. I have to take eye drops regularly and have to attend my eye appointments every six months to a year depending on my eye pressure. I can see colours and the difference between light and dark.

This is a pretty dang good example. I think Vaseline would be more accurate than the white out however. It’s a frustrating and strange disease. If I look at someone’s neck, they are headless. If I look at their mouth, they have no eyes. I constantly have to scan with my eyes to utilize what hasn’t been damaged. Which unfortunately isn’t much left.

I'm a glaucoma suspect. Nothing is wrong other than my optic cup is thin. My Dr told me people have a donut shaped nerve in the back of our eyes. My nerve's hole is abnormally big. They don't know if I was born this way or if it just gradually got damaged. That's why I'm a suspect. My pressure is normal as are all other parts of my eyes. I see the specialist every 3 months. Go back in January. Is there anything I can do to help repair my optic nerve(eat healthy, exercise)? Anything I can do unknowingly to make it worse? Don't want to do that.

It is controllable if it were caught in early stage and as long as you put eye drops everyday. I didn’t get the point of this damn video.

My father has had it since he was 25, he's now 52 and the situation has gotten worse in the last two years. He luckily got surgery from one of the best glaucoma doctors here. He described it to me like you guys did, he saw white dots and had a blurry vision, his left eye sadly isn't working anymore and he's completely blind in that eye. His right eye is much better but not good either. The surgery he had was the MIGS one (Mini Invasive Glaucoma Surgery, I believe?) where they put a microscopic tube in his eye and changed his crystalline and got rid of his Myopia too. The first day he described his vision as totally white as if he had a lamp right into his eye. Then, after like 10 days, he started panicking because he couldn't see in his right eye anymore either. He rushed to the hospital and luckily recovered and came back home after like 10 days (One of his vessels exploded and he had an eye hemorrhage. Luckily, all of the blood got adsorbed and the vision returned.) After like a month he started saying his vision is getting (a little) better, but sometimes still had the flashing white. It's now been over one month and a half since the surgery and his vision goes by days. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.. He has to get a visit at the clinic where the specialist works to see if he can use glasses or he has to wait. He went back to work but obviously he can't do the things he did because it's on the computer and he would only hurt his eye, but he goes there and does everything he can on paper. I wanted to let you guys know my experience (well, my father's) to see if someone has had something similar. I started getting more information lately, so I know more about this disease and can tell when something is wrong. I have known today that Glaucoma is hereditary and I'm scared I have it too. But, luckily, the last eye visit I did ,(one or two months ago, I don't exactly remember), I didn't have high eye pressure, so I know atleast for now that my vision is still safe. I am so sorry for everyone that has this disease, it's really nothing to joke about, as you may have it and you don't know it. Please y'all be cautious about your eyes and don't take it easy, a lot of people I know have had this disease and some of them are now blind because of it. Don't wait until it gets worse, get surgery done asap so you can prevent more permanent damage. Stay safe and healthy! 🥰

Both of my parents have traces of glaucoma in there families. My mom has it too. I’m starting to get tunnel vision and migraines. I’m really scared that I’m getting it. My vision is already terrible.

I have advanced glaucoma and this is one of the best simulations I've come across. It's much more low tech than some of the others but it's tremendously more accurate!
