Hey I must ask, do you know the difference between the standard and the commuter?
I think it’s the same scooter. I was just on their website and I can’t find the G6 commuter version anymore. Seems like they just renamed it to just “G6”.
The g6 commute has a mechanical lock, but the G6 does not. The brake line color is also different
That’s awesome thanks for the help. I just bought a new scooter. Thanks for leaving the products on the list appreciate it.
What E-scooter did you get? The LED light works great. Makes riding at night look like riding in the day.
@@moto434 I have the Inokim OXO, great Scooter so much power with the 2 1000W motors, it has two lights at the very bottom of the deck they are bright but they are too low they’re not quite good enough
@@offroadaussie I will have to take a look at the specs on that scooter you just got. My next scooter I would like a dual motor scooter for climbing hills around my neighborhood. Also would like a top speed around 35 mph. Thanks for watching my videos, enjoy your new scooter, ride safely. 👍
@@moto434 That is why I bought the Inokim OXO because I live in a very hilly area and I am 95 kg. Stay safe too 🛴
Is tern better than Brompton?
The Brompton bikes seem to be more compact for transporting . But they have smaller wheels and are pricey. I think the Tern bikes are a better value.
how water proof is the g6? ever rode it in rain?
The water rating is “IP54”. That’s kind of a low rating for riding in heavy rain. I have been caught in a light rain and I had no issues. But I try to avoid riding in wet conditions.
I get about 25 miles on mine...im 230 lbs...18ish in the blistering boston winter..1200 miles in...still going strong...
I weigh 150 lbs. so far I have 250 miles on mine. Good to know that yours has been reliable for 1200 miles. Have you have to replace the tires yet? Have you had any flat tires yet? What tire pressure do you use on your tires?
Lovely place!
It really is!, the ocean water was so clear and warm.
Hello! Good, good video. From Cucuta city Colombia 🇨🇴 South America
Hey, thanks! My friend 👍
@@moto434 Amén 🙏
How fast were you going(mph?) Case thats to much range. You where going like 8 to 10 mph max righh? 2 miles at 24mph on my okai neon ultra and its down to 94-95% already but slow i can go FAR.
According to my GPS tracker on my watch, my average speed was 14 MPH . So I was keeping up a pretty fast speed most of the time. Your weight has a big impact on your range. I weigh 150 lbs, also my commute to work is fairly flat.
good!
That's one nice looking scooter right there. 👍🏾
HELLO how is the range with your G6. I was thinking about Getting one. But went with the Hiboy X300. Because of removable battery. And I love it. Rides so smooth.
The longest ride I did was 25 miles. I was down to the last bar on the battery meter on the display. How about yours, what is the longest ride you’ve ever done? The Hiboy X300 has the biggest wheels that I ever seen, 12”. With those large wheels, must ride better over rough surfaces. What is your top speed on the Hiboy X300 ?
@@moto434 Hello. My top speed is 23 mph. And my range was 24 miles. Keep in mind I weigh 240 lb. So maybe someone under 200 lbs. Would get more like 30 miles. But it rides super comfortable.and the best thing about it. Is the removable battery. Thanks for asking.
@@chrisdudley8366 Nice looking scooter, I also like the signal lights and the large wheels. Enjoy your scooter and ride safely.
That's great! Before starting to ride my bicycles for a better workout, I used to ride my electric scooter to work when weather allowed, but the distance is much shorter and the route less spectacular.
I started to take my e-scooter once a week. I also take my Ebike in once a week. Then the other 3 days I take my Honda CB500X motorcycle to work. I like to take the e-scooter and Ebike because of the traffic congestion on the highway. Sometimes using my motorcycle can take me 45 minutes to get home in the afternoon. On my e-scooter and Ebike it takes me 60 minutes. Not much different in time.
❤&🙏 from 🇮🇳
Nice ride! The scooter looks awesome. It was better if it had rear suspension and hard tires. Pneumatic tires have to be inflated at a very high pressure to reduce the rolling resistance and save the battery. And their maintenance is a nightmare. Make sure you avoid unpleasant situations... What's its weight?
Thanks, this is my first e-scooter. So I will see overtime how the reliability goes. It’s lots of fun riding it. Plenty of power to climb steep hills.
@@moto434 How much does it weight? I am really curious.
@@bogdandebuzau It weighs 20.412 kilograms. Not too heavy. I can carry it around pretty easily.
The G6 is a very nice scooter. Working on scooter is not hard. Need just little brains. The worst part is the tires. Changing the tubes. But it's not that bad. After changing tubes a few times it's easy. Nothing to work on this scooter at all.
@@moto434how to assemble it
Nice ride!
Thanks, it’s been a bit hot around here, but on this day the temperatures were good for cycling.
I love riding the CT Fastrak multi-use trail. It is not busy and you can go full speed. I have captured some of it on Google Street View but there are still some gaps where my GPS did not capture location with enough accuracy.
That’s one of my favorite bike lanes because it’s not usually busy. I go From Elmwood to the end of the bike lane. It ends in downtown New Britain.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I also have a Tern Link D8 since 2014 and I was not sure if the balloon tires from Schwalbe will fit. You nailed adding the extensions to make it fit. I will do the same.
I’m glad you found my video, you will like the balloon tires smooth ride over the rough bumps. 😊
Thanks , This bike has pedal assist up to 41.8 kph . The max range is around 95 km if I keep the power assist on 2 setting.
Nice eBike!
That's why I like the Link C8 better. It already comes with that setup. I just bought one last week. Gord
The C8 seems like a great choice for riding in comfort in a compact folding bike. Congrats on your new Tern C8. I’m sure you’ll will get many trouble free miles. Enjoy your new bike. 👍
@@moto434 Thank you... I'm enjoying it allot. These Terns are very smooth and well made... even at their entry level. Gord
Nice bicycle. I also like the park.
Thanks, that park looks beautiful in the summer when the rose gardens are in full bloom. I took my 24” unicycle for a ride the same day at that park. That was the first time I rode it there. I got a lot of attention. One woman took a picture of me when I was riding by her. 😊
Nice ride, my friend. Good video! I like your recumbent bike more than the one that I was about to buy for myself. Thank you for the details you revealed to me in our private discussion, by the way. I've realized that I miss important information for buying a recumbent bike on the Internet...
Glad you liked it. I hope the weather is getting warmer where you live, go out and enjoy your cycling activities. 😊
Great video, and the shim idea is brilliant too. I have one set up the same, they are as you say "a great compact bike".
Yes they are! You can just about fit it into most vehicles.👍
Living in CT-which dealer did you go through to snag your Tern? Thanks for the video!
I bought this bike from a Craigslist add. It was a private person selling the bike. I don’t think there is a Tern dealer in CT. You have to go to NYC OR Providence RI to find a Tern dealer. But you can order a bike online from a dealer.
Just to let you know that the Tern bike company didn't start manufacturing bikes until 2011 so your 2005 estimate is a bit off. Regards Bob
I didn’t know that Tern only started producing bicycles in 2011. Thanks for your comment. 👍
Excellent idling technique! You're better on 24" than I am on my 20" unicycle. I've been trying to improve my idling by trying to idle on my bigger unicycles or combining idling on a small unicycle with juggling. But the amount of physical effort forced me to reduce my sessions. On the 20" uni the effort is more psychological than physical, but my progress is stuck. Good video!
Thank you my friend. I think you have some good unicycle skills too. You can ride backwards and hop , idling. You are pretty good with that unicycle. 😊👍
It looks stable. Good job!
Thanks!, works great with unicycles and bicycles.
great job keep up the good work
Thanks for watching. 😊
Thanks for sharing, what type tires did y change out and where did y buy them?? Thanks😊
I changed the original 1” Schwalbe tires. I replaced them with Schwalbe 1.5” balloon tires. I bought them on Amazon.
Nice ride! Is this a new unicycle? Or did you change the cranks on your Nimbus 29er MUni? What is the size of those KH cranks? I haven't noticed these cranks in your previous videos. Or maybe you've just changed the video recorder or the settings of your camera, because there are more details in this video (at the price of losing some of the video stabilization). It must feel great to ride in these places, especially when the weather seems to improve a little.
I have this same unicycle for four years now. The cranks are 165mm, but I added new tapped holes at 130mm. I like the 130mm holes position better than the 165mm. I speed up the video to 1-1/2 times to keep the video short. I think people tend to get bored if it’s a long video. That day I recorded the video it was super windy. It was a little challenging holding the selfie stick and mounting on the 29er unicycle. At one point the wind blew my phone over when I had it on the tripod. Lucky for me the screen didn’t break. Thanks for your comment. Enjoy the warmer weather that’s coming soon. Keep on unicycling. 👍😎
Nice! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Good video! Because of you, I've already started to look for a recumbent bike. :) Should I buy one? It looks very addictive.
They are fun to ride. I believe riding a recumbent bicycle will strengthen your legs. This will help you when you ride your unicycle. The only drawbacks that I have noticed are , when coming to a stop at junctions try to be in a low gear so when you start to pedal it will be easier to get going. Also not good for climbing over big bumps like a curb. Around here I can find them used on Facebook marketplace. Prices range from $300-$900. Good luck with your search for a recumbent bike. 👍😊
I have a new tern a7 link. The stock tire are 1.75 wide, how wide are your new ones? I need to do something, the vibration kills me.
I put on a set of Schwalbe balloon tires. They are 2” wide. They will give you a much smoother ride on rough surfaces. I had to add a small bracket to the fender supports to lift up the fender for clearance on the 2” tires. Check out my video on my channel.
Good idling and turning practice, but it's always better (safer, actually) with knee pads, especially when riding a bigger unicycle. ;) I thought I've been experiencing a deja vu when rewatching one of those moments when other people suddenly become very interested in unicycling or was it an error during editing the video? :)
I left that part in when the little girl says “you have talent “ on purpose. Just to show how you get some nice compliments once in a while. Thanks for watching my video my friend. 😊
Hey. I've been waiting for a new "uni" video... I'm glad it came, and it looks like it was a good unicycling ride. (I've only explored some parts of the video because I don't have enough time right now, but I will watch it later). Thank you for the video. :)
Hope you enjoy it!, I will start making more unicycling videos in the future.
Good video! I like this route. As a recumbent rider, your perception of the outdoor environment and connection to nature must be interesting and stronger, respectively.
I like this bike very much. Have you tried riding it a longer distance? Does it still feel comfortable? I've never tested a recumbent "bicycle" with less than... 3 wheels (only a recumbent trike and a recumbent quadricycle which were neither comfortable, nor stable). Recumbent bikes are not popular at all in my area and are very hard to find. Probably I will order one just for trying it. There are more chances to see a person riding a unicycle than a recumbent bicycle.
I just bought this bike used last week. I had to clean the chain really good. I also had to buy a new idler pulley that was missing. I also bought a new seat cushion. I adjusted and lubricated all the cables. So this was my first ride. Will be trying to go on a longer ride tomorrow. These recumbent bikes are harder to do tight turns like in confined spaces. But they are comfortable to ride because there is no pressure on your arms and hands like a conventional bicycle. Also going up steep hills is a bit more challenging because you can only use your legs. Maybe this bike will help make my leg muscles stronger to help with unicycling. They are expensive if you buy them new. They start around $2600 here in the US. They are not common to see around in my area.
Saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱
Bienvenido, amigo mío, que tengas un gran día. 👍
good job tony
Nice ride! That must (also) be a great track for riding a unicycle.
Some areas are quite rocky not good for unicycling. Some areas are good for unicycling. I will have to try this track with my 26” wheel unicycle.
Hi friend, nice sharing congratulations
Thank you so much Marcia 🙂
Thanks for this tip. I have a similar model D8 link, orange and black which is still running great after 10 years. Definitely looking at this upgrade.
I have four different bikes. The Tern Link is my favorite bike to ride because the compact design makes it ideal for transport inside the car. I also like the simplicity of the single top bar frame design. The 2.0” balloon tires make it even better to ride. When riding on rough surfaces you will have a more enjoyable ride. I also like that the bike stands a little taller now. Thanks for your comment.
Nice ride! Have you considered tracking your activities (distance, max speed, etc.)?
Yes, I have a bike computer on my bike that does all those things. Happy Holidays and Happy new year.
@moto434 I'm sorry. I've missed the most important reason for "tracking your activities": tracking your rides as in mapping, planning routes etc. with apps like: Strava, Relive, Komoot, Wikiloc, MapMyRide etc. installed on your phone and running in background or a GPS watch (Garmin Fenix, for example which should be now on Christmas sale) that can automatically send your last recorded activity to all these apps (without affecting the battery life of your phone) or which allows you to export the .gpx file. Happy Holidays! And A Happy New Year to you, too!
Okay, thanks for those suggestions. 👍
