I remember the Four Seasons opening mate…..

I'm originally from Mansfield. I moved away in 1995. In the 70s and early 80s my parents had a small business in the town. Like many towns up and down the country, the town centre is now a shadow of its former self. Strike one was the loss of the big market. Out-of-town retail parks were strike two. Strike three was Internet shopping, especially that big river store. To some extent we've all been complicit in this retail apocalypse. But also the ordinary person doesn't have anything like the disposable income they used to have. Cost of housing. Cost of living. More and more of us are Just About Managing and many of those who appear to he doing well have a life on credit. It's all by design. Too much money in the hands of too few people and not many of them live in places like Mansfield.

Slightly misleading. Should have filmed on a Saturday.. It would be busier. Not too forget that building at the start is the old Co.op. It's now having millions thrown at it. Work starts in a week or so. 😊

the Bentley is probably worth more in parts. They cost a fortune to put right. The Probe not really worth much, they don't have a great following and the Merc might be troubled by rust issues, as they were in that year and around that time. some good finds there though!.

After you find abandoned cars and what happens to them? Can you keep them?

Can't anyone get hold of the owner and look to buy it. There's plenty of collectors who would like to get their hands on this and save the car from the elements.

Triumph vitese estate, the slightly tuned up version of the Herald, believe it had twin carbs...maybe webber, the Heralds had only one headlight per side. Quite sought after.

Great vid,i think the Rover SD1 was a Vitesse looking at the wheels but unfortunately i couldn't make out the badge on the rear, ,not sure what the first car was but i'm sure my grandad had something very similar going by the old photographs i've seen in the past..

I'm surprised the disused stations website doesn't mention Platt Bridge station even if there is a lack of photos of the station. Other stations are mentioned such as Abram, Hindley South, Bickershaw but not Platt Bridge. Standish station isn't mentioned either. I don't think there are any known photos of the station, there must have been some taken but they must be very rare.
