Pennsylvania Greenhouse Grand Opening
It was an extraordinary day at the Grand Opening of our state-of-the-art, 10-acre greenhouse in McAdoo, Pennsylvania! We were honored to celebrate the occasion with Governor Shapiro, state representatives, customers, friends, family, and everyone who helped bring our greenhouse to life.
This new greenhouse has doubled our lettuce production, allowing more people to enjoy our fresh, delicious, and sustainably-grown baby greens.

    Man , I love these lettuce. They stay crisp for a long time and taste delicious. The only thing I don't like is I can't get it any stores. I have to drive distance to get it.

    I work at a local Market 32 in produce and we sell these like HOTCAKES. I sell at least 30 cases on a Sunday and customers always come up to me and say how amazing it is. I totally agree with them. Fresh, crispy, and no bad stuff! It tastes like I just got it from a farmer's market. And bonus? This stuff lasts for days in the fridge unlike other brands that last a mere day. I love how much you guys are growing and I'm proud to buy your products!

    Never heard of it , until they built a facility a few miles away from me in McAdoo, PA. My family is obsessed with this lettuce, and we go through 3-4 packages a week. As an automation technician myself, I love the Automation this facility uses to produce such a great product.

    But what about all the plastics that the lettuce goes into?! How could that be better? What other compostable packaging could they use???

    With your "technologically advanced greenhouse" and NO Pesticides, Herbicides, or Fungicides, does this make your lettuce "Organic"?

    • @372HGS
      @372HGS 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If they were certified as Organic, it would probably be well advertised. If inputs are listed as such it would be just the start of practices atypical to this hydroponic farm. This is from their website "Our lettuce is not certified organic, though we adhere to growing practices that ensure our lettuce is on par with (or even beyond) the quality of organic greens." To me this means they choose to follow a different business model with less overhead, non-organic certified / listed inputs. WHEN they cannot filter the water clean enough to meet safety criteria, they flush the system. They do not have to use weak organic inputs, so recovery time is shorter when this occurs thus the risk and expense of this vs. following organic guidelines, using only organic practices and supporting inputs, including sanitation and inoculation chemicals, providing a better-quality product and being better compensated for the increase of appeal. "Technologically advanced" is a cool thing to attract people to the infrastructure and but having climate control and using water instead of soil doesn't determine or dictate "organic" in the eyes of most, but is controversial amongst some hippies.
