A yr later and i still want to comment on this debate; This was not a 'CULTURE VS RELIGION' debate, hii ilikuwa bible study, and am like, 'why are we even arguing about the bible....why is it the only reference book for this debate'. Karanja wa Mwangi is my mentor in my awakening journey, he is so rich in Kikuyu culture teachings and world philosophy, but it was not wise to confine the debate to the bible. Kikuyu culture has no bible as its reference. The bible is basically the history of the Jews, but its NOT the word of God. It has a lot of wisdom there in, but also has a lot of fiction and lies, just like many other books we have read, so its not an authority. My point is, we wasted a whole 3 hours doing bible study, a whole 3 hours we could have utilised to better discussing the disconnect between religion and culture.
