Bore and stroke ?
ZL1 diesil engines , will always crack the head.Fault with the engine is in the poor design of the head,between the valves.Do not over rev,dont over heat.Also will crack early arround the glow plugs. Otherwise its one of the best engines Toyota ever made....Beware the replacement heads can be expensive and wont last.
How much u near Brisbane ?
The 3y and 4y petrol engines are much better the 2ct and 3ct diesels always seem to end up with cracked heads

Hey I have only had a diesel motor, found it to be very reliable. Definitely not the fastest motors but it gets you there
Go for petrol if you can.The 2RZ engine is fuel injected and a very reliable engine with heaps of grunt.I own a 2004 2.4 Hiace Camper van manual.Dont go for Auto,they are slugesh.Manual is best on hills.No probs with mine after 4 yrs.
