DIY Pond Aerator Using Septic Pump
มุมมอง 207K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Spend half the money and get a better pump and better results using a septic air pump for your pond aeration. I show and explain my step by step process to help you save time and money. Parts List: -Blue Diamond ET100 Pump ($205) -100' of 1/2" ID Weighted Hose ($150) -2 Diffusers ($31 ea)
I see, in the update video, that you opted for an actual pond aerator pump. Guessing the septic one, that's not even cheaper than getting a whole kit from Vevor, didn't hold up?
Nobody cares just show how you make the thing Don't talk is minimal as possible and that's it why is everyone think everyone cares about what's going on in their life and the whole story no we're looking things up so we can make them ourselves. Just need to see what you did and we'll run with it. Not the details just a brief overview
Thanks for posting
hey Chase- where do you buy your diffusers from?
I see you uploaded this 6yrs ago. Hows it running? Would you still recommend it? Looking for a pump for my koi pond
Yes I would highly recommend this to anyone. My pond is still beautiful. We swim in it all the time. See my updated video I posted.
Our pond was nasty. I came across your video 2 years ago, bought the same pump you showed on your video, actually bought 2 and it worked! My husband is still amazed the pumps are still going and the pond is clear. Btw we never take them out it stays in all year and runs through our northeast winters. Just wanted to say thanks 🙏🏽 for your video.
Just put a check valve on the hose and you won't have to worry about back pressure
Did you install a check valve to keep water out of the hose?
Yes. See the updated video I posted.
*Great **Latest.Bike** . I upgraded the pedals, added fenders and installed a handle bar extension to raise them. Now it’s a pumped out E-Bike. I love it.*
Hi how many fish i can have with this
Where did you buy your diffuser?
Great video, thanks for helping us setup our pond system
Good idea. What depth are those diffusers sitting at?
Great
I just want to thank you so very very much. We went with your plan and our hugh maybe an acre or more pond went from green slime ugly thing to a beautiful picture perfect pond. I cant believe how its changed. The most expensive part for is was the electric wire. It was over 400 ft long. Thank you thank you!!
Could we not use a very long section of .5" pvc with many tiny holes drilled in it down the middle of the pond for longer aeration?
Probably helps keeping the pond NOT turn into a mosquito sump too, I'm guessing?? 🤔🧐
Correct!!
Looks good where did you get the hose and pump and send info on defusers with price on each. Iam gonna build one for my minnow pond tku
where do i buy the equipment?
thanks brother. been looking for this. setting up my old pond this spring !!
Thanks for the update
Ty
Looks like pretty easy setup mine will be delivered today. 😊 Safe riding. 😎
Boats and hose
Thanks for the video Chase and for explaining in your updated video the need for check valves! I had no idea. I just ordered some check valves prior to my system arriving.
No non return valves? That's a recipe for disaster if the pump is ever turned off. Also, your diffusers are way too close.
After purchasing how long did you have to wait to get the bike in the mail
Perfect. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are lazy to but we work hard with no equipment. Nice equipment makes faster progress and more fun 🤠❤️🇺🇲⚖️🕊️
Hi Chase great tutorial. You might consider adding a check valve, and possibly just use the weighted line for the pond water only and use cheaper poly line from your shed to the pond then use the weighted line. just a thought . have a great day!
Thanks. Yes I figured that out shortly after. Here is an update video I made last year. m.th-cam.com/video/kECBYUpGXvk/w-d-xo.html
That diffuser is just a piece of soaker hose from Wally world. You should experiment by adding a 20 foot loop of soaker hose to see how well that works. GREAT job! I need something like this for my pond. I am heading to your update video now.
That’s exactly what I thought too but I was told soaker hose doesn’t work the same. I have no actual evidence proving either way but I agree they look the same.
Thank You for sharing
Thank you, great ideas . From the Catskills Mountains, New York State
Awesome!
Do you bury the weighted hose so you don't catch it on a mower?
Yes. That’s what I dug the trench from my shed to the edge of my pond for.
Hello, I ordered mine April 8th, 2021 and still waiting for it. Is that usual to wait that long?
Where did you buy the septic pump at
eBay
Where can I buy the water hose
I meant the waited hose
Everything I built it with came from eBay and Amazon
How did you connect your non-weighted and weighted hoses together?
How big is that pond? Iv got a 2 1/5 acre pond and I was thinking 2 defusers would b good
My pond is 1/2 acre.
Can someone please drop a link to a decent check valve that will fit the 1/2 inch hose ? He talks about using one in the update video to prevent water from coming up in hose when the pump is off , so I went to Lowe’s and Home Depot but all the check valves are too big for the hose.
You have to couple it down to 1/2”. If mine wasn’t 20’ at the bottom of my pond I would post a pic. It’s all PVC and was cheap. You’ll think there’s no way it’ll blow through it because you can’t physically blow air through it yourself but it has not issues at all.
After all is said and done, do you still recommend installing a pressure release valve?
I removed mine when I added air line to my system a couple years ago because it wasn’t needed for my setup.
did the diffusers sink? how far?
Hey brother great job! I’ve watchEd both videos and love them. Did you get the thin walled diffuser (their first option ) or the heavy duty diffuser(second option ) on the DIY website?
Thanks man. I bought my diffusers off eBay. They were cheap and the one I’m using is still working to this day. It’s very similar to soaker hose that you find at menards as far as how thick it is.
Great video - I am going to follow your suggestions.
How much did you pay for that Big Max system
I got a great deal on it for around $150 if I remember right.
Can you do an update on this system I want to see if it cleared off that algae for you
m.th-cam.com/video/kECBYUpGXvk/w-d-xo.html
Hi. I just got my bike 03/19/2021 I followed your video on the speed limit. But mine will not go over 45 is that something new or do if need to do something else?? THANK YOU BILL R.
Nice video thanks... I just ordered mine yesterday... I purchased the step through version. Are they still giving the pump and the phone holder away free? I didn't see that when I ordered. Some people are saying they were charged a $40 overseas processing fee, I paid using PayPal and was not charged that fee, plus with the $50 coupon code I paid $1449 total... How long does delivery normally take?
Suuuuuch great help. Made my life so much easier! Thank you!
