Hey TEAm! The functionaliTEA podcast took a LOOOOOOONG hiatus and we learned a lot about our message, how we want to deliver it and who we are intending to reach. I'm Tausha, I've been diagnosed with Functional Nuerological Disorder (FND), Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Endometriosis. Those are diagnoses, they are not who I am. I don't and won't fit any mold you'd like to put me in. I'm here to he...

#14 What's the TEA on FND and Pushing Through?
มุมมอง 392 ปีที่แล้ว
Tenacity is not something we are born with, it is something that we learn. When facing chronic illness being tenacious and persistent is more than half of the battle. Whether it's just pushing to get through the day, pushing to advocate for ourselves, pushing through comments and judgement or even just pushing to accept that this is the way life looks for us now; we HAVE to push. We must push i...

#08 What's the TEA on FND and Yoga?
มุมมอง 302 ปีที่แล้ว
Yoga Yoga Yoga. As mentioned in the episode, yoga is one of the biggest achievements of globalization. This week Tausha tries to give a different perspective on the practice of yoga because many of those who suffer from chronic illness are semi triggered or offput by the word or the idea of it. This is where I am. I’m still accepting it 4 weeks out of a week hospital stay. I’m so used to being independent and fly about easy with 3 children. I have my dairy, to learn patterns of the disorder. With my adhd and ptsd I can’t believe I am now forced to be mindfu, slow down and listen to my body. Which is super funny as I believed I was doing so during my healing journey but really it’s not untill now I am really present. I only have the day to think of. I can not stress about the future nor the past anymore because FND has shoved this new narrative of being in the day. I went Christmas shopping and completely spasmed, twitched out and I refuse to think I can’t do this. Once it was over I lead down meditating with Louise hay. Haha I know myself deeper now. I’m not happy with my new friend FND but I’m more accepting. I have lived a life of being positive and pushing on and I got this far, there ent no way I am giving up now. I will always give it ago. If I can’t then I’ll ask for help Thanks for the videos They have been helping me process x

Thank you so much for bringing up the brain fog. It's always hard to have a flare up and losing that independence to drive on your own. I'm always grateful that my boyfriend will drop everything to help me shuttle me and my daughter around. I don't mind not being able to get something from the store, but when you have a child you have to pick up from school or take to a mandatory school function it's very stressful because you have to figure out what to do. It's great to have people to lean on for that.

Thank you so much for this video!!! It's so helpful to me to change my emotions from victim, frustrated, depressed to more of a cheerleader for myself, taking the power back, and self caring. I like the cheerful yet caring tone of your videos. Instead of feeling shame this morning, I'm using your video as a let's get started living your life on your terms, take a deep breath, meditate, get a cup of tea, and care to choose a good path for yourself today video.

I'm having such a hard time with this. I quit my job as an elementary teacher and tried a retail job but it's not working out. I've gotten a lot of negativity from my employer and no one understands this disorder. I have 3 kids I support so I have no choice but to work. It's a mess!

Hugs to you warrior. It is HARD! You are so right there is huge lack of understanding when it comes to this disorder which leads people to not believe what they don't understand or haven't heard of. Have you tried to get talk to your doctor to see if you can get some type of note or something? Have you thought of looking for a remote position? Here to talk and work through possible solutions if ever you need. Sending spoonie love!
