Are u in nr
A lot of trilobites from Morroco look very similar, and that's a big source for fossil shops globally.

This was extremely helpful! Thank you for putting this info out there!
Lovely cat.
is there anyway to transfer the texture?
Yes there is! I wrote about it here: peterfalkingham.com/2020/05/28/transferring-textures-from-two-halves-to-a-whole-using-blender/
Oh, and I did a video for that too: th-cam.com/video/uc8fPyl0vxs/w-d-xo.html
Running a test on a Mac Pro (M2 24 GB RAM), with 50 photos, processing takes forever... is that normal?
Nope. Bear in mind that the normal version of COLMAP requires an NVIDA card, because it relies on CUDA, so is incompatible with a Mac even in virtualized windows. You could try Colmap-CL, which replaces CUDA with open-CL: peterfalkingham.com/2021/02/15/photogrammetry-testing-colmap-cl-a-game-changer-for-those-without-an-nvidia-card/
@@PeterFalkingham Thanks: you're really on top of things!
can you send the point cloud and the rectangular stl file to me ; i have that as a homework .plz
this really helps with my animations thx vro
Have you tried Premiere Pro on it? Really curious about overall playback performance of 4K files.
I didn't, but this hardware is like 3 years old now so it wouldn't be super representative. At this point, I'd wait for the Surface Pro 10 Snapdragon Elite models that are meant to be released this May/June - I think performance in everything will be better by an order of magnitude.
Thank you, solve my problem
3d print isnt showing for me blender 4.0?
It's a native addon - go to edit, preferences, addons, and type 'print' into the search. It's appearing for me in a fresh install of Blender 4.1

Beautiful. Thank you for this.
animator here thank you :D

so everyone is here for the same reason?
It's called direct registering. Cats r truly amazing. They r efficient predators and they r awesome companions.
Ahh thank you very much. This is the best demo video by far I found for the Surface X. I just got one in like-new condition for a nifty 270 usd. #excited lol Will be using it for YT and casual drawing. Who knows might accidentally unleash a hidden Rembrandt 😎😄
Yes, this makes more sense than imagining argentinosaurus attempting to lift both limbs on the same side of its body for each stride and risking balance loss.
From where did you install blender ?
I just grabbed the x64 installer from the website, blender.org. It's not an arm version, it's running in emulation.
@@PeterFalkingham how did you install it?
@@aadhthya822 Blender? Just download the installer and run it.
@@PeterFalkingham i couldn't find x64 version anywhere in the website , can you please paste its link
@@aadhthya822 Just x64, not arm64. It runs in emulation. there's no native version of blender yet. Installer: ftp.nluug.nl/pub/graphics/blender/release/Blender4.1/blender-4.1.0-windows-x64.msi
What are your computer specs?

do you know why i cannot use touch mode in Photoshop. im using surface pro 8

This pen can use to translate language on photo or file ?
Short and precise. 100% information. Many thanks. I didn't know this programme before. A "sudo apt install colmap" left me astonished.🤩
Thank you for sharing! This will help me on my own projects. Could this material work on other objects or models like rocky planets?
Yeah, it'll work on any object. Not sure if it'll work with displacement.
cool! thanks!@@PeterFalkingham
Can you test how heavy Android apps works on this? Say Xodo pdf or Concepts app for Android. (I know Concepts is available on Windows Store. But really want to know how much WoA is able to handle heavy android apps.) Also that Blender was x86 right?
I haven't had the pro x for a while now (moved to a Surface Laptop Studio). My experience at the time wasn't great, but there's been a tonne of improvements to WoA in the past year, so it could be reasonable - but sorry, I don't know now. Xodo is in the win store as well, just in case you didn't realise.
which one is better ODM or Colmap
COLMAP is quicker and easier to use, but only takes you so far (it won't produce a textured mesh). I review both (and other photogrammetry software) on my website: peterfalkingham.com/2020/07/10/free-and-commercial-photogrammetry-software-review-2020/
Just another animator dropping in.
Nice 👍
hey all my ct scans are either in jpeg or htm any idea how I could make this work?
Htm stack sounds weird, I've never heard of that, but a jpg stack opens in slicer exactly the same way as in this video.

The Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus) is a species of gamebird native to Asia, it is the largest of the four extant species of common pheasant, which is any constituting the genus Phasianus, in addition to being the only of the thirty-two extant pheasant species that has been introduced to many parts of the world, there are eighteen recognized subspecies within five subspecies groups: the Phasianus torquatus sohokhotensis group that contains the Strauch's Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus strauchi), the Sohokhoto Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus sohokhotensis), and the Alashan Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus alaschanicus), the Phasianus torquatus torquatus group that contains the Tonkinese Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus takatsukasae), the Shandong Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus shandongensis), the Sichuan Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus torquatus), the Hainan Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus hainanus), and the Formosan Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus formosanus), the Phasianus torquatus karpowi group that contains the Shansi Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus kiangsuensis), the Mandarin Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus liaoningensis), the Manchurian Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus pallasi), and the Korean Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus karpowi), the Phasianus torquatus hagenbecki group that contains the Kobdo Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus hagenbecki) and the Ruo Shui Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus edzinensis), and the Phasianus torquatus mongolicus group that contains the Mongolian Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus mongolicus), the Zerafshan Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus zerafschanicus), the Syr-Darya Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus turcestanicus), and the Aral Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus bergii).

How did you automate it?

How do you get emulator in first place does it Download via update or does it need downloading elsewhere?
You mean android emulation I assume, rather than x64? It does x64 automatically and invisibly. Android you get through the msstore by installing the amazon app store.
as an animator i'm very thankful for this video
Good morning! I'm working on water pressure for a French documentary for kids and I'm very interested in your video, is it possible to use 20 seconds during our documentary please? :)
That's absolutely fine. if you can put a credit somewhere that's great, if you can't, then that's ok.
@@PeterFalkingham Thanks a lot ! We'll put a credit of course :)
Can you share or locate the dataset (images) you used for this video?
I don't have this dataset anymore I'm afraid, I captured it specially for a sketchfab blog post (sketchfab.com/blogs/community/tutorial-using-free-photogrammetry-software/) but didn't keep it. If you just want a dataset that is known to work, I have a set of 53 photos available from my blog - head here: peterfalkingham.com/2020/07/10/free-and-commercial-photogrammetry-software-review-2020/ and scroll to 'with my standard dataset'
Any improvements lately? Can the pro x play Minecraft? Like the android app?
Thanks, how to align an image with a point cloud? is there a way?
I'd use one of two options: A) if the point cloud was generated via photogrammetry, and the image is in the photoset, you can export camera positions from Metashape/Meshroom/RealityCapture etc. Export point cloud and camera positions into blender and go from their. B) if point cloud did not come from image, create a camera (again, in blender), add the image as an image plane, then manually move around the scene to align the camera. I guess a third option would be to use Reality capture and import both point cloud and image and try and mark matching control points in each, but I've not done that before. You might be able to do something like this in cloud compare, but I've never done it.
@@PeterFalkingham Thanks Peter, I have a Mobile laser scanner point cloud and camera images. For option two, Blender gives me rotation and translation matrices?
@@AbbSalehi Yes, you could get translation and rotation from the camera. It might be easier to use Reality Capture, if you've got an nvidia card - that can handle both laser scans and photos, though I've never used it for that myself. They do a free trial, or a free academic license, otherwise it's a pay-per-use, but quite reasonable I think. But the nvidia card is a necessity.
