Traveltrix doesn't know East from West.
Give him some slack, he is getting a bit old and confused!
Love the image 😄
Thanks, and I would like to say I spent hours crafting it with the latest Adobe design software (other products are available) but it's really all about getting the right AI prompts! 🤣
BA’s seat is comfortable, but their food tastes like a defrosted Iceland TV dinner.
What about the pretzels?!
I used to fly P.E. then unexpectedly B.A. once upgraded me to Business so I was hooked from then on. Having said that I now use A.F. on my usual long haul because their price is better (means short layover at CDG) and so is the food and service.
Excellent information.
Very nice. The few times we have flown business class was heaven.
Good points
We actually cancelled our last trip as we had enough of the walk - especially as we would have had to walk back to the hotel after the trip and back to the station to catch the train to the airport! Only so many times you can do it
I have just arrived in Thailand via the winter-only BA direct Gatwick-Bangkok, premium economy. The recline is very generous. Its tricky to get out when the seat in front is fully reclined,, however thats what we all paid for. Great crew. Food fine. I do think the plane needs more toilets though - the competition such as EVA has more loos however it costs a lot more to fly EVA. Overall a good flight.
Good point on the toilets. It can be a pain to walk all the way to the back of the plane if the middle ones are busy. Plus side is that you can grab another couple of wines from the galley while you wait! Enjoy Thailand.
Excellent
@@TrekkingwithDebandMike Thank you. Incoming videos on Denver, Colorado that could be of interest for you. Some stunning nature to explore and treks to be had.
Nice video. Thanks. Would have been good to see the recline. Was it ok when the passenger in front of you reclined? I always have this paranoia that I might bother the passenger behind…
Thank you for the nice feedback. Premium is much better than economy as your table isn't in the seat in front but could still be a problem for tall people when eating. If you check out my video on air travel etiquette, around 4 mins I think, I have some images of the full recline: th-cam.com/video/USyjONEgeIo/w-d-xo.html BTW. Denver, Colorado is our next trip 🙂
@@dazeouttravel Thanks for getting back to me. Noted. Enjoy Colorado!
Good question. I always talk to the folks behind me about reclining, being polite really helps. I did get some grief on an EVA flight from the person behind me, I did ask them if they had flown before and I called an attendant to calm the person down, which did happen.
@@BushmanUKoriginal Thank you. I actually flew Tokyo-London in PE and did not encounter any issues. I did not see my space restricted when the passenger in front reclined his seat so I think it´s a great product. I am surprised how someone can complain from reclining. - 1- we have all payed for the extra and 2- the recline does not actually bother you (I am 6´2´´).
Cheers. PE is my go-to cabin - perfect middle ground of cost and perks. Just came back in Business/Club World from Denver so a revew is incoming on that. Will probably do a head to head at some point. Happy travels
The only place public rail doesn’t reach is khaosan and the area. Minus the tuktuks and “scamming” by the street sellers that are walking around - absolutely loved Bangkok
I love public transport in Bangkok
Flew BA once - NEVER AGAIN
Why
Maybe I am a mug but I have an affinity with BA. Not the best but they do their best. Something plucky and British about that 🤣
No matter what airline, they‘re all offering pretty much the same hardware. But the crews can make such a difference.
London pelicans, swallowing pigeons live that get too close 😮 I think it's Green park that green parrots will eat out of your hand & St James's for sparrows doing likewise 🤔
Definitely feed the birds, not the bloody squirrels! 😂
Best way to save money in London as a tourist: Don't go. It's like any other city in any other country in the world (plus you're liable to have your wallet/phone stolen anyway). Go to the countryside, that is the REAL Britain
You have to visit London if you want the full British experience
@@blackman8603 No you don't. You visit London if you want the international experience
Great tips. I’m a 30 year flight attendant and I couldn’t have given any better tips than those! 😊
Thank you for the kind words - 10 years travelling in economy has some upsides! 😃 And thanks for the amazing job you and your colleagues do for us travellers. I hope we all treat you with the manners and respect you deserve.
As someone from Finland, yeah. Compared to many capitals Helsinki is pretty boring. Love living there and there's plenty to do as local, but aside from some places in Lapland, Finland isn't really made for tourists. And due to lower population/tourism, there also isn't very many major expensive stand out attractions and whatnot. It's also not medieval historic wonderland. So yeah, most people probably don't find it that interesting. Though, Turku could be pretty interesting for Tourists. Especially if you are visiting Stockholm, take ferry cruise, which is also pretty neat, and do day trip there.
Great insights, thank you. I imagine some of the scenery in Finland, especially in the north, is spectacular. Helsinki was pleasant enough to walk around for a few hours and we found the harbour and cathedrals impressive but not sure we could have stretched it out to a few days.
I won't pretend Helsinki is as exciting as Berlin or Prague but I think it definitely is more exciting than Tallinn, which is just a booze destination, and on a par with Stockholm. I think the main mistake is to stick to the area by the harbour and the two cathedrals. Of course, you need to know where to look: go kayaking in the Helsinki archipelago and gaze at the extravagant villas perched on the shore, or if you have the stamina you could even paddle to Suomenlinna, an 18th century seafortress built by the Swedes. You can also go to a sauna in vanhakaupunkilahti bay that is run by volunteers and free of charge, admire a mix of jugendstil, neoclassical, and national romantic architecture in Kallio and Kruununhakka that is unrivalled, or visit the National Gallery to admire the greatest Finnish paintings from the 1800s and early 1900s. And then there is the Mannerheim museum located in Mannerheim's childhood house. And for the clubbers and barhoppers there is enough to do in Kallio.
Appreciate the tips, super helpful if we return. So good to get some insider knowledge as those hidden or quirky things to do can make the difference.
I would say almost every city in USA is very disappointing. They are dirty, hard to navigate, awful public transit, you need a car to get anywhere, too many damn parking lots ruin the aesthetics, modern architecture is boring, expensive for no particular reason. too many chains also take away from anything that can resemble local culture. I will say Boston and DC were very cool cities.
Another thing about Bangkok and Thailand in general is that the population is actually quite hostile to foreigners and outsiders in general. I was there for three months in 2010 and let's just say I'll never darken Thailand's door again.
LA is literally one of the worst cities on the planet. You want FAKE? That's LA. You want pretend? That's LA. You want hype? That's LA. It has NOTHING. No history, nothing fun, it's all fantasy and fake. The best thing about LA would be if you REMOVED the cities and humans, the LAND and its climate and fauna are fantastic. So if you enjoy nature, there's some things, but beyond that, the "city" is not a city to go do and see things, it's dirty, filthy, nothing works, and you HAVE to drive EVERYWHERE for hours from place to place to actually see anything. It's the HOLLOWist place I've ever been, of the world's big cities
I would agree about LA, having been there. It is overhyped as hell. The Getty Museum is really the only thing worth a damn there if you're an adult, and maybe some of the other art museums too. I haven't been to Helsinki, but from what I've heard of it, what you're saying is probably accurate. Ottawa and Brussels I have been to and I'd somewhat disagree about. Bangkok, not sure. Never been, and I don't have much knowledge on Southeast Asia.
Appreciate the insights. Great to get other people's experiences of different cities as there are so many things that can shape or skew our perceptions. Thanks.
I will stick to defending Los Angeles. Not only is it a fascinating place for me, but brilliant people ranging from Christopher Isherwood, Dominik Taschen, Jascha Heifetz, and Richard Feynman. If you love movies, get a ticket to watch them produce a comedy, a game show, or a chat show in the audience. I’ve even shaken hands with my favorite stars while watching them shoot tv episodes. Join a Saturday morning tours by the conservancy to see inside of the movie palaces built a century ago. Don’t look at the Hollywood sign from afar, you can legally hike to the top of it. Nobody calls it flag after watching a sunset from Griffiths Observatory. The new Academy of Motion Pictures Museum can keep true movie fans occupied for the whole day. Take a real tour through a studio, not the amusement ride through Universal. Not only does it several world class museums, unlike their counterparts in Europe, the ones in Los Angeles explain what makes the Art great. Also unlike European art museums the ones in LA have world class gardens. Downtown, the FIDM museum exhibits actual Emmy-/Oscar-nominated costumes. Not all museum is boring post-graduate stuff. Glendale has a wonderful museum devoted to the art and science of neon signs. There are few other places on the continent where a 5-minute subway ride takes you from a Bolivian neighborhood to the middle of Koreatown, or Thai and Armenian neighborhoods overlap. You should also checked Watts Tower, one man’s quirky art for the community, only 30 minutes by subway from the airport. Los Angeles is disappointing if all you do is checking off a top-10 selfie list. Hierber, it has enough culture to keep me interested for a quarter century.
Thanks. I say at the end of the video perhaps I should give LA another chance so appreciate your tips.
I feel like a lot of what you describe, other than the art museums, would only be interesting if you are hugely fascinated by the film industry and want to learn more about it firsthand.
I did geek out a bit over the movie history!

The Fin Whale (Balaenoptera physalus) is a large baleen whale with a cosmopolitan range, it is the second largest baleen whale, the second largest whale, the second largest placental mammal, the second largest mammal, and the second largest animal in the world, it is the only extant species of the genus Balaenoptera and the subfamily Balaenopterinae.
This video is an excellent guide, thanks so much! I appreciate the granularity of details down to the best things on the menu and even corporate ownership. Great taste too, Deschutes is wonderful!
