It was the first time I heard about some of the technologies she mentioned. Especially the speaking mask that isolates the voice of the speaker from other people in the room to perform respeaking even in a crowded room!

The fact that simultaneous interpreters can manage it through such cognitive load is awe-inspiring.

I find that our translation market hasn't paid enough attention to game localization, which is a pitty because it could very profitable. Courses like this could be of help to hopefully educate future localizers.

This topic is very thought-provoking because managing a sustainable career is every modern translator's concern.

I find this topic incredibly engaging. The examples provided were both tangible and easy to understand. It was particularly helpful to learn that in an interpreting context, we can use phrases like “the speaker...” or physically position ourselves away from the speaker to convey our distance in beliefs.

Ethics in translation studies is fundamental, as it encompasses the responsibilities of translators to maintain accuracy, respect cultural contexts, and protect intellectual property.

In my opinion one of the most outstanding and applicable quote to most of our lives' aspects could be this: "[...], ethics has to do with the impact of one's behavior on others. So, everything that you do that has an impact on somebody else must have an ethical dimension, because ethics is about your relationship with other people. And that means that almost everything you do has an ethical dimension. [...] So almost everything you can do, you can't separate yourself from others, and therefore ethical behavior is part of your everyday life. It's not something that you just bring out of the cupboard now and again, in particular situations. And it has to do with balancing the rights of self and others, because obviously you as a person have rights, but others also have rights. Sometimes these rights clash and they're in conflict with each other, and that's what makes it difficult."

I suppose The way she explain artistic turn, and asking artist to involve themselves in the process of accessibility services is the main point at least for me to point out. because who has power can make changes for or against who has disabilities. Best regards🖐️

In my opinion, An ideal lecture must end up making a change and that change can be either physical or emtional occuring in the mind of the listener which this lecture absolutely did to me! Before i used to think that making any advances for facilitating the life of Deaf and hard of hearing community is charity but in fact it is not It is kind of human duty to remove the barriers for certian group of people so we can all access the same services and to eliminate inequality as much as possible It is not a jenerosity, it is a duty for the sake of human rights! ~S. I was amazed at the end, where it mentioned the possibility of accessing new subtitling technology that allows people to choose between speed on one side and accuracy on the other.

I liked the part where it was discussed that accessibility is more than just using technology as a tool for the disabled, but a human right to increase inclusion in a society.
