Several times a year especially through the winter months Lake Forsyth water levels rise to a point ware the lake needs to be released to the Ocean, this prevents flooding of Little River township and surrounding low lying land areas.

Right so I guess you are going to deny that Vince Burke threatened to blow Kens head off with his shotgun at a Canterbury rock club gathering on Vince's property. He did that in front of many witnesses. Vince Burke is well known as a thief. He cuts peoples rocks Pounamu then tries to charge more as well as taking slices out for himself. Many of us that thought a lot of him once. Vince scams people to this day he still steals peoples stunning agate wood and the likes saying they are his. Never take your rocks to him to be cut as he will steal from you all eventually. Vince Burke in summary in 3 words Parasitic, Thieving. Prick !
I thought the hole situation started when Ken started to build his new house, and your family was not happy about losing its view. When he got permission to build the hole property and moved in you and your dad would park in the walk way and Rev up your beach buggies.this also gave Ken the best place at birdlings and your family place was in 2nd place so some sour graps there maybe ? Ken had things vanderlised ,but said nothing as had no proof. So if you back things up abit you can see why he cut access to the walk way because. Jason and Vince could not be decent nabours. The way things were layed out Ken had to also use the further away access to use his own beach buggy or 3 wheel bike on the beach. Well Ken and Lin are in a Rest home now a private house in a rest home setting
Sorry but you couldn't be more wrong, you have absolutely know idea about the history here, you have a very made up story there, the actually story and history of what happen and how people retracted is 100 % in correct from your impression, so much so that my father and myself as a young boy actually helped ken and his family build that house... Please don't spread BS!!

Hi Hank, sorry no idea, doesn't look like it has been cared for in a very long time. Yes unusually calm weather for this time of year round this piece of coastline.

You're not wrong there buddy, hes been a disruptive nuisance to our family and wider community for the best part of my life. The years that followed that particular occasion he devoted his life to trying to shut down my fathers museum at Birdlings Flat, a much loved and valuable asset for BF and the wider New Zealand, with hundreds of school children, university students, elderly groups, kiwi travelers and over overseas visitors visiting every year. The local council even have it on the visitors website as a main attraction to see while in this area of New Zealand. I must say though, my father does enjoy a good old fashion fight, he is the one to stand his ground for whats right for both himself and others, hes a good man!!!!!! :)
Jason Burke I can't believe how low people will go!! Incredible story to watch and thanks for sharing it. People can learn so much from this situation. Thanks for fighting it and doing what's right. I think I have once or twice used that same path way to the beach.
