Nice vid.
Thank u this is very helpful
Good info
Thanks Mike, so glad you found it helpful!
I just started playing and I'm getting pain in my left wrist with right-handed clubs (I have limited mobility in my left shoulder) and haven't had any issues with left-handed clubs or any wrist pain. So, I'll be using left-handed clubs instead. Thanks for the video.
I'm sorry to hear you've been having wrist pain. If you're interested in an alternative solution to buying new clubs, schedule a call with one of our experts so they can identify the cause of your wrist pain and develop a plan to eliminate it! Wow, great demonstration and they all apply to me...thanks Josh
Glad you enjoyed Tom, always happy to help!
Great advice and training ideas. I’ve incorporated the chair drill in my hitting station when practicing the full range of clubs. My focus is keep in contact and push the chair back as far as possible. Really like the stomp drill to initiating the weight transfer. This move is one that needs attention in my swing. Your channel has great content. Thank you again..
Thanks for the kind words, I'm so glad you found it helpful! Keep up the good work!
This podcast is a “goldmine” for those who want to score/perform better on the course. The best analogy I can offer is that it’s like listening to 2 billionaires sharing with each other how they know what enables them to get richer. The topic here, of course, is how to really get better at golf by getting your body to do what new equipment and most swing coaches don’t know how to teach. Bottom line: if you want to play better, P4S Golf is one of the very few places in the country to help you. Check it out!
Great video. It just happens that I have been going through a terrible trail arm golfers elbow. Going to PT twice a week but still no improvement. Can’t swing a club without the pain in my medial epichondolitis. 😢
I'm sorry to hear that. The most common reason for golfer elbow issues, especially on the trail side, is a lack of shoulder mobility and strength, followed closely by trunk mobility. Something we see all too often, and can certainly help with! If you have time for a brief call with one of our experts, they can answer any questions you have and get you feeling better! Here is the link to schedule a call with an expert: app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=15764528&appointmentType=29332145
So how do I gain the mobility for my trail shoulder?
Our channel has lots of shoulder mobility exercises you can do at home such as subscap releases, overhead stretches, banded shoulder rotations, and CARs! If you would like a clearer plan proven to increase shoulder mobility, you can schedule a call with one of our experts! Here's the link to schedule a brief call with an expert: app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=15764528&appointmentType=29332145
Great tips from a great trainer and program. Can't reccomend this channel enough and how much they have helped not just with golf but quality of life.
Thanks so much for the kind words Mike! I'm so happy we could help improve your quality of life and your golf game!
Thanks Mike...glad you're enjoying the content and I'm sure you're soaking up the long summer days up in the Yukon...golfing lots I hope!!!
@@JoshLeyes Been agreat summer up here and we just had another amazing long weekend weather wise. Been playing less this season but quality of play is better. Hope you are doing well Josh.
Simple, practical exercises. Thank you
Happy to help, glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for this invaluable insight.
Of course, glad you found it helpful!
What if you fail both mobility and strength?
Always start with mobility! If you are not mobile enough, your risk for injury is much higher while strength training. Once you are passing all mobility tests, then add in strength (and continue to do mobility work).
Love it - super detailed & helpful!
Glad you found it helpful Andrew!
great workout
Thanks Jim!
Very helpful. Baseball + Thera cane are awesome. Learned the TFL and infraspinatus terminology. Was releasing infrspinatus as I was watching this.
Glad you found it helpful! Baseball and theracane sounds like a great combo!
Hey I am a youtube marketing expert. I analyzed your channel. Your channel is not optimized properly. Video tag, description is not correct. That's why your video views and subscribers are very less.Your video SEO score is 0 out of 100. Which is hindering your channel growth. If you want to grow your channel. As a youtube marketer I will help you. Thank you.
Start with lessons. Fitness optional, but recommend. Skip fitting. Fitting is not even a thought until you can break 75 with stock equipment. Fitting is for elite ball strikers who aren’t going to alter their swing.
Definitely depends on the golfer. Some golfers bodies keep them from doing what instructors ask of them, so they need mobility exercises to prepare for a lesson and prevent injury (happens more often as we age). Some golfers have adequate rotation where they need it (neck, shoulders, spine, and hips), so they don't need fitness unless they are looking to gain strength to increase speed. Lessons will help optimize your swing (if your body is already optimized) and transfer physical capabilities into your swing! Agreed, fitting should be saved for when you are at your peak, or have an established swing pattern that wont change!
If a golfer isn't going to improve their fitness or take lessons (obviously these are the best ways to long term improvement), a proper fitting would still prove beneficial! The "stock" equipment you mention that a golfer buys off-the-rack likely isn't going to be an ideal fit, as golfers come in all shapes, sizes and physical abilities. A highly qualified club fitter can make a huge difference to the "average" golfer. What if the stock" clubs the golfer has are too upright or too flat, with shafts that are too heavy or light, or a driver head that's too low in loft? A proper fitting could help someone gain some yardage (even if they aren't an elite ball striker and shoot in the 90's).
@@JoshLeyes Most amateur golfers chunk at least 1 one out of 4 iron shots. Until you can strike ball, then turf for 20 consecutive shots and have the same swing day in and day out, I just don’t see the value in fitting someone for lie angle or shafts. I’m just saying an amateur will get by far the best bang for their buck by getting lessons and playing cheap equipment than buying new fitted clubs and hoping for the best.
I’m getting fitted because I’m 6ft 6 and my clubs are so short I bend my knees and hunch my back lol. It causes me to top it when I stand normal but when I get low it’s hard to keep my knees locked at a bent position so I could chunk it or skull it based on my legs moving up or down without balance
@@colinboleratz8623 That’s a good reason! But I wouldn’t skip lessons. They are going to help you immensely. Good lessons from a professional, not TH-cam videos. I have had lessons throughout my life every couple years I have 3 lessons to manage my form, my age related changes, and it has kept me a scratch golfer for a very long time. I can play my wife’s left handed clubs or my friends clubs easily because lessons are more important than fittings for me. I am 5’6” and I can just choke down on a really long club if need be and still hit it well.
Thank you! Definitely an eye opener to the problem. Always thought it was a back mobility and strength issue.
Absolutely! Happy to help, and if you would like more guidance as to how to fix the problem, you can schedule a call with one of our experts using this link: app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=15764528&appointmentType=29332145 They'll go over your game, assess your mobility, and develop a plan to help you reach your goals (including eliminating any pains)!

bro just said ur out a shape, lock in T_T
A terrific interview. I have a video of a Gary Player routine workout he made in his 70s or early 80's. It would kill someone who thinks they are in reasonable shape half his age. The man is s physical marvel. I have found the majority of instructors i have had to be a waste of money and those worth paying typically deal with only elite students. Its almost criminal. .
Absolutely, most golfers underestimate how much of a difference being in shape will help their game! And if your body keeps you from doing things instructors tell you to do, you're wasting your money getting a lesson before getting in golf shape!
Great video much appreciated
Glad you found it helpful!

Chris and Rick, thank you for an insightful video. Definitely a part of my game, and life, that needs improvement. I'll be sure to check Flowcode out!!!
So glad you enjoyed! We could definitely all use Flowcode in our lives!
I had total knee replacement last year by Dr. Amanda Marshal Rodriguez in San Antonio. She does the minimal invasive replacement and does not cut the quad muscle. I had 120 degrees range of motion three days after surgery. I was swinging a club in two weeks and played 18 after three weeks. My PT was amazed my recovery. I had over 130 degrees at my three month check up!
That's awesome, glad you had a speedy recovery and were able to get back to golf quickly!
I had a full hip replacement in January this year. For the first eight weeks, I just focused on walking & stretching exercises. After that, I started practicing with a wedge at the driving range, gradually building up to a maximum of thirty balls per session. After twelve weeks I started using a seven iron at the range, this coincided with the go ahead to play from the surgeon who carried out the procedure. From then on in, I started to step up my practice, which included playing a gentle nine holes on a very flat course. I can’t remember when, but I gradually lost the fear of playing with a full swing and expecting a pain in the area around my hip. Now, seven months on, I can play and practice without pain. However, I recommend lots of stretching, daily as well as before & after a round of golf. Hope this helps.
Glad you were able to progress to getting back to golfing! Stretching and strengthening the muscles around the hip or replaced joint will definitely help a lot!
Thanks. Very helpful.
Glad you found it helpful!

Chris, when are you going to open a facility in Greensboro or Winston-Salem?
Not right now, maybe in the future!
Apparently I do the sheffler shuffle. What you say here is 100% why I feel like I do this. The boys always chuckle at my sheffler shuffle. I would like shoes with spikes right on the tip of the toe. Until then my foot will slide back behind and then towards target .
Sounds like you have a lot of power in your swing, definitely a unique trait to have!

Thank you for this video
Absolutely, glad you enjoyed and found it helpful!
No info, except advertisements!!
Sorry you missed all the information, here's a recap: Ensure you have enough rotation in your hip, shoulder, and thoracic spine (the assessment will show you how much rotation you should have). If you aren't able to rotate enough, work on mobility in those areas aren't able to rotate in so you aren't compensating and straining your knee (which shouldn't rotate). After you have enough mobility, focusing on driving force through the ground and posting up! Let me know if you have any questions!
Stupid!!
Long hitters are winning. You don’t have to be the longest but you do have to be long. Who are the people that don’t hit it far that are winning?
👆
With Rahm having gone to LIV a full 7 months ago now, it would be interesting for you to assess now whether anything has changed in reality. I don't play pro but I haven't seen anything change with all their bluster on growing the game.
Great idea, thanks! We'll look into doing an episode assessing what all has changed if anything. If there's anything else you'd like to hear about please let us know!
i did this and my driver went from 90 And it hit over 100mph just with that little pause `in the back swing 1 , 2 and 3 is the down swing created a nice rythem it also help square the face it slow my back swing down thanks for tip
That's awesome! So glad we were able to help!
You said "average" then started talking about "longest." I came with an open mind to hear your stance and your data but less than a minute in your data and credibility is shot because you are conflating "the data" based upon your slant.
Hey Daniel, I appreciate you coming in with an open mind. Our host misspoke at 1:56 when saying "average" and clarified at 2:41 after mixing up his words. He is looking at longest since that represents peak performance (which hasn't improved much over the years). When looking at "average" driving distance, the average has been slowly increasing every year with the release of improved knowledge, equipment, and technology! Here is the link, if you'd like to check our facts: mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/how-driving-distance-has-evolved-on-the-pga-tour/ Hope you keep an open mind and keep listening!
