Oh man, this brings me back. Tie Fighter was a helluva game. As fun as it was to fly, I always thought the Starwing was OP as hell though.

You could of used the Ion cannon against the frigate to disable it. The B-wing is equipped with it.

Played the original on diskette many, many years ago. Incredible game. This looks like it's running in the XvT version of the engine. When I played textures didn't even exist yet for the game! Very cool to see your flying. I'm always wary of getting to close to gunboats, transports, and shuttles during the finishing shots, I've had to many blow up and the main hulk fly backwards and hit me, killing me, though it seems the physics here are a bit different. Thanks for the upload!

Notoriously know this mission for having a supposedly buggy Tug in case FRT Mharsup gets disabled. You jousted those A-Wings good. Good thing Hunu showed up after all the Y-Wings were taken care of. Meantime, those are some sluggish Z-95 Headhunters.

0:18: "Big Bang" backwards. I purposefully wonder what happened to the T/Ds captured in the last mission. Ah, it seems the reinforcements were needed because you armed yourself with Rockets against the, heh, ISD Glory II. Normally, Adv. Missiles are pretty much the better choice plotwise. This mission really makes one want to disable a lot of enemy vessels, primarily the enemy fighters so to delay their replacements. Meanwhile, sure can irk a first-timer, the fact that the tug objective can only be done by disabling the TRNs. 4:46: LPhoenix maneuver, and then some. Lots of T/As here. Really takes one back to X-Wing's numerous TIE Advanced x2s. 31:57: ...Destruction?

Two torps left. Would have been useful against the Shuttles. Really strange that, canonically, the Star Destroyer Invincible isn't your kill, and yet you already have it scored twice or more because of in-game unscripted shenanigans. So ends the first Tour of Duty. That's 461,782 points you got, I bet. Can't wait for the next Tour, The Great Search.

Another breather mission after the last stressful one. 2:07: Not precisely the first flight of the Xg-1 Starwing Assault Gunboat. The cutscene after finishing ToD 1 Mission 4 - "Protect Medical Frigate" attests to that. Next comes the grand finale to this Tour of Duty.

I love this game. In skirmish mode I use a Akira class with 2 K'Vort class birds of prey vs 2 warbirds or add another ship to my fleet against three warbirds. There are slots for more ships but don't know how to unlock them 😕

And I thought Mission 8 was hard before I first tried this mission. You can double-torp the first four Kappas from a far away range. Lambda Shuttles in this game seem more braver and well armed compared to the the sequels. 8:20: Good thing your astromech droid gives you reminders on objective completion and missile locks. Flying on A- and B-Wings just seems harder without the beeping reminders and objective log in TIE Fighter onwards. Missile-bearing TIE Bombers matter more than Interceptors. Would just leave one alive whilst picking off the former. I can say this on a lore perspective, the Sullustans joining the Alliance is one huge boon for both, especially up to the Battle of Endor where their home planet became the rendezvous for the full scale assault. 72 TIEs for the Invincible. That's quite accurate.

Its one of the best Star Trek Games along with Star Trek Legacy, Star Trek Armada 2 Fleet Operations, Star Trek Armada 3.

Appreciate these kinds of missions, especially if they're set between two difficult ones. But for plot purposes, I would have spared the Invincible and her shield generators. Doesn't mean I can't whittle down the shields the old fashioned way to stave away boredom. 0:00: Not how one should pronounce the Sullustans. What one will do so to have time compression and other TIE Fighter benefits like a scrolling reminders list be modded to this game.
