Complex Trauma: A Silent Destructor (C-PTSD)
In this video we will discuss how complex trauma (C-PTSD) affects the body and mind, illustrating their interconnectedness and exploring different healing approaches. We’ll look at three key areas affected by trauma: the Cortex (responsible for logical thinking and long-term planning), the Limbic Brain (the emotional and survival center), and the Body (governed by the nervous system). Trauma manifests in negative thoughts, emotional outbursts, and physical symptoms.
In complex trauma, negative experiences trigger the body's fight-or-flight response, creating a feedback loop between the brain and body that perpetuates stress and fear. Over time, the cortex develops a subconscious routine to avoid perceived threats, leading to constant anxiety and physical tension.
The video outlines two healing approaches:
1. Bottom-up: focusing on calming the body through techniques like yoga, meditation, and deep breathing to reduce trauma triggers.
2. Top-down: addressing the mind by making subconscious memories conscious and reprocessing emotions through methods like talk therapy and self-therapy.
Both approaches aim to break the negative feedback loop, with the bottom-up approach calming the body's responses and the top-down approach reducing the mind's negative interpretations. The video emphasizes the importance of self-compassion and creating a safe environment for healing. Healing from complex trauma is a long, non-linear process requiring a personalized approach, combining both body and mind techniques as needed.

Narcissists and their flying monkeys will always act bigger, better, superior, and more entitled than you. Narcissists are delusional and will blame you for everything including things they imagine. Narcissists love to hurt, punish, and intimidate others to gain control. Don't fall for the narcissists' con games. Hold onto you and your self worth. Let the offenses of narcissists roll off of you. Never internalize narcissistic abuse. It takes constant work and lots of determination and the strong belief that you are right.

Many narcissists were treated too well as children. They were catered to, spoiled, loved, indulged, never corrected, rewarded for bad behavior, and given an unearned sense of authority and self importance. These people often become narcissists. When people do not cater to narcissists' needs and demands, they can become targets. Never cave to narcissists. Never pity them. Never fall for their brutal tactics, games, and love and charm offensives. Learn to protect yourself and minimize their damage. Ignore them and focus on much more important things. Let their abuse roll off. Hold on to yourself and who you are despite narcissistic abuse. Let narcissistic mistreatment make your stronger. Ignore them. Dismiss them. Know you are right. Learn to survive and prosper despite narcissists. That will drive them crazy and may eventually make them seek better targets to exploit.

A Narcissist in my experience is a weak personality unable to be anything other than a bully who has a masking of his actions and uses his false personality as a shield and a weapon. They will do this not only do this to their targets (people they abuse, strangers) but will apply in an even harsher way to their partners or children. This I am observing in real time in a real situation , it is nauseous in the extreme, but I read or watch advice saying never inform a narcissist face to face, well I disagree, I did so and the response from them was ,and I quote,(someone has been calling me names and I would like to talk to you.) My reply was straight and firmly put, Any time . Result , steps were taken by him to isolate his family from my influence and from myself, I spoke openly of my situation to them ,reaffirmed my support for them and they replied in a positive way but felt financially and emotionally trapped in their circumstances. For myself I stay available to them but to him I am polite but non involving. I have witnessed such blatantly played out lies claiming injury's in such a child like way that it was laughable , how could you take such childish behaviour from an adult and maintain respect for that person is unreal.I have faced many real dangers in life ,stood my ground with honesty and openness and always found that fear is the greatest enemy anyone can have.

They choose hate over love , period. They are too self absorbed and self centered to care for anyone else. It’s a choice to be hateful and abusive. The core issue is envy and jealousy. Face reality and repent of your sins. I’m sick of these gross narcissistic manipulators.

I’m Dutch, not a native English speaker and you tube is watched from all over the world. The content (about narcissism) is not only “difficult” but also must be digested by people who maybe are not in very good mental condition after abuse. Therefore I’d say that the -spoken content- should be central. Because of the music that content/the voice has to be filtered out a lot of “noice” / the music. It makes me and possibly more non native speakers tired and I miss parts of what is said. You can help bij lowering the volume so that the voice is clearer. Besides (serieus topic, possibly harmed people listening) the music at some parts makes nervous; the staccato strings. I guess you want to help and comfort people. Considering the mentioned above might improve that. The reason I reacted.

I'm not suggesting that you have to feel sorry for the ones that abuse. I think the value of understanding the why is to see that their brains work in a different way than ours. It can help to stop projecting one's own goodness onto them and accept that they NEED narcissistic supply and they also need to devalue and hurt others. Kind of like seeing objectively that a lion needs to hunt and kill prey. This understanding makes staying away from them a logical choice.

In my experience my narc father and sister stick together, they are very street wise. When my late mother was alive my narc father would complain about my sister's mayhem, when she passed, he went to her side, so it was 2-1. They stole everything from me, claiming I had caused my mother's liver failure, basically everything and anything...they enjoyed the physical and emotional abuse. When I questioned him about budding up to her, he said she was strong so he was 'looking out for himself'..my sister was my parents Golden child, my father was his mother's, she was her narc father's, my sister's children hate me, and her youngest is her Golden child. 100 years of dysfunctional, child and wife abuse. No trauma, it's euphoric for them. The betrayal is hard to get over.

They hate themselves and hate you if they think you are happier and more confident and successful than them, and they will hate you even more if you are quite popular with people where they can see that everybody you know loves and respect you. I know because my ex hated it if i was talking to friends, having a laugh, and talking about the good old days, it somehow irritated him.

Thanks for the comment :) Trauma is often hidden from conscious awareness because it was too much to bear when someone experienced it. Additionally, trauma, like emotional neglect, is VERY hard to see because it is not something done to you but rather the absence of emotional nurturing. That being said, if you know you were not traumatized, please don't let a dude on TH-cam tell you otherwise. You know your own history the best. Maybe there is another explanation that I am not aware of. Hope this helps :)
