Bro i was so excited to go back to my teenage years, open up the vid and this guy starts spitting german LOL
Does anyone know what venue this is and where? Thanks
Dortmund Westfalen Halle
Bruce was my and my brother's lead vocalist. Dead By Sundown, and Inveighn. Amazing human being.
You guys from Portland by chance? Bruce is my cousin and I only got to jam with him once. Hell of a guy!
This is sick. Carlos de Andrade and Ryan Johnson are among my favourite skaters
Respect to Lavin for meeting Nyquest - who was recently disappointed for bailing on a potentially winning run - at the last set and appreciating his 360 backflip.
That Nothing Superman is insane.
I remember watching it live and thinking it was really cool. That year, a few riders landed the double flip - Lavin, Murray, Nastazio, Erickson - so I wasn't so hyped when Murray pulled it. I did appreciate the nothing superman though.
This was prime bmx! Bikes and parts were all top notch. All the stuff today is the same. It's all new companies. Barely see any haro's now a day's. or gt or dk or standard, sm , everything is the same in 2020 frames are all the same and just basic as a child's bike. I liked the haro backtrail and mirra's with nice thick tubes with curves they were hot. Even Hoffman bikes is almost extinct. Sad sad sad lol thank goodness for this good ol days footage
S & M still make really strong frames
@@tommydizzay1648 I have the S&M Josh Stricker Pro. Best frame I've ever ridden.
Mega!
Reh Schpeckt...
thank you, for uploading. I lived in Münster at the time. The city always was so crazy when the mastership was there. that was so great... now I need a time machine. :-)
No one throws that double flip like Murray. One of a kind that dude.
7:37, RESPECT :D
One of the biggest upsets in sports history that you never heard about.
I dont speak german.

Year Bruce . Ótima vitória x games marcantes
Look at those old set ups! Giant ass sprockets omg. I remember my first real Bike was a haro. The DaveMirra flair... RIP Then got another. The Ryan nyquist backtrail x3
Jesse Costa still on mine
Thanks for uploading this! Been looking for it for ages! That’s probably the smoothest/easiest the 900 has ever looked.
I'm saying. Why is this not EVERYWHERE!??!? This is SOOOO clean. Much cleaner than his first success!
10:06 se te engancho la cinta caesan
Tas still trying the 9 three years later, and Tony has it perfect. Why not mention that in your documentary Tas?
skaterwithaboard yeah I think he didn’t actually land it until like 15 years after Tony did it, yet he claims Tony stole it from him!
muito bom !!!
I was there for this! Was such a great contest!
2 things - First it's funny looking at these jumps from so long ago, not even 6 feet tall. Now the lips on most dirt jumps in comps are anywhere between 8-12 feet. Second thing I wanted to mention is how sad it is to see Stephen Murray on one of the best days of his life, back then there was what - 6.5 billion people on this planet and he got 1st place !! Pretty awesome. Just so sad to know he's been stuck in a chair for the last 10 years now. Just a fucked up situation, hope he's ok mentally, I'm sure it isn't easy but, he's got his kids that he loves...
Bob OnDeezNuts yes, it's crazy how life can change... he wrote a book and it was published two months ago, 100% worth it the read
RYAN NYSQUIT IS THE MAN!!!
Nyquist
This was the first X Games I first saw that I know of for a fact. I remember it was sometime in August, and my dad (May he Rest In Peace) decided to record it, in addition to some of The Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skatepark Tour 2001 and some of THE 2001 DAVE MIRRA BMX SUPER TOUR, that I am lucky to still have recorded to this day that I transferred to DVD a few years back in late 2013 or I think early 2014.
I had Tony Hawks tour and Stephen Murray's Gravity Games win on the same tape, happens to be the only one I misplaced.
Cool! I never really got into the Gravity Games back then since I felt it was basically just NBC's version of the X Games which it technically was I had read in a book years ago about Skateboarding and other Action Sports I think, but if anybody ever uploaded them to youtube I'd totally check them out, since I am interested now. It was the same thing with The Dew Tour for me at first until around '07 when I started following it a bit by the last stop and found out Shaun White won The Dew Cup before that last comp The PlayStation Pro and then I was like I got to check this out earlier next year and followed it a bit more, then in 2010 I really started to get into it allot and was heavily into it until 2016 when they dropped Skateboard Vert, BMX Vert (which they dropped after 2014, as well as BMX Park, and Dirt entirely, as well as skateboard bowl which they sort of brought back this year as Pro Bowl which was pretty good), Skateboard and BMX Streetstyle as well as BMX Street. I still follow The Dew Tour though and thought this year was pretty good for the main few events they had for Skateboarding. it would be great if they brought back BMX and had a Big Air Contest for BMX as well as Skateboarding like they do on X Games as well as BMX and Skateboard Streetstyle, and Skateboard Vert, and BMX Dirt, and Park, and BMX Vert.
