HOW WE GOT HERE:
In 2009 we went on our first Cruise to the Bahamas and we loved it. In 2013 we started cruising once a year until 2020 hit and changed everything. So we bought an RV and started LAND CRUISING! Hence our channel name :D
WHAT WE HOPE FOR THIS CHANNEL:
As we go on our adventures traveling around the US (And hopefully Canada at some point) we would like to share them with you. We plan to also share our thoughts and ideas on this lifestyle. We hope to entertain, Inform, and Inspire.

4th of July Alligator Encounter at Big Lagoon State Park
มุมมอง 6713 ปีที่แล้ว
Alligator Encounter at Big Lagoon State Park We went back to Big Lagoon State Park for our 4th of July celebration and had a blast! The coolest part was getting to see a young alligator in the main lagoon. He hung around for some time. We think he might have thought we were going to feed him but we did not. It was sad though because he had somehow managed to get a decent size hook in his right ...

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park Jacksonville, FL Campground Review
Yaaa! I saw our campsite! We will be camping there next week! Our first time to camp in 25 years!!!!
Recently visited. Camp hosts are great, they spray each site when people leave so no ant problems, older but very clean restrooms, very quiet and laundry with 1 washer and dryer
Thank you!
Do you know what sites have a creek behind them?
I'm sorry. I do not
Just booked site 15 because of this video lol
Great review- we liked the way you showed the sites - stop action was an added bonus - was very helpful- thanks for taking the time to put it together 🍻
Thank you for this video. I can see that all the sites have a number of things in common. They are all long and very skinny. Half the sites have no privatey between them and they looked stacked on top of each other. I'm looking to go their in the first week of January. I heard that Rocky Bayou is closing for repairs at last 6 months or the year (2024) as well as another state park near by. We love staying at Rocky Bayou State Park. I don't know it we can get it there or not.
Which sites are ADA? and close to bathroom?
Thanks for the video! It's awesome! We are headed there next week.
Infinite warfare copied off this and made it into one of their zombies maps.
Nice calm demeanor is appreciated and the video quality is excellent I was able to find the site and area around it so nice to have a heads up. The music was also uplifting. 😊
Could you have gone any faster?
We use to camp there two weekends per month during the winter, but in the renovation they put up sodium vapor lights that stay on all night, like a Walmart parking lot. Couldn't sleep, so we found some other campgrounds where we could watch the stars.
Thank you. This is a great visual aid to the camp sites by number.
Love this video!!!! You did a fantastic job!!!! Site by site is what we like to see. Set to good music made it a pleasure to watch. Keep up the good work!!!!
Thanks, nice job!
We are on #1 site on your video! Cool! We love Karick south!!
Staying there in August, looking forward to it, thank you. ( yes, August😂).
Staying there in August, looking forward to it, thank you. ( yes, August😂).
going soon. Good to see site ahead of time. Thanks!
use to stay at Desoto. But after they put up the all night sodium lights I quit. Not the camping I like. Like to watch stars, not here. Now staying elsewhere Back when Talmage Butler was there, met him for coffee each morning. Been going there since 1977. Still bring the scouts up there on our way to summer camp. We have a secret swimming place in Little River Canyon. Swim, jump, sunbath all day. Eat lunch and hike out just before dark. Also have other places to hike and explore. Since the park service took over LRC, they have made major improvements and increased security. In the winter we hike Bear Creek canyon and climb out next to0 a 60' waterfall. Usually takes half a day or so. Normally we bring lunch and explore, hike to Grace High Falls. Thee is no trail, so you make your own. The mothers hate that. Many, many interesting stories. Once we had crossed the creek, and when crossing back, there was no dry path to take. Told scouts to take off shoes and tie shoestrings together, hang around neck. Typical, one scout didn't do that and dropped shoe in creek. As we watched it float down the creek, I picked up a rock and threw it at the shoe and commanded my lab to "fetch". She jumped in the water and swam down to the shoe, believing that was what I had thrown and brought the shoe back. good girl. Hiked out beside the 60' waterfall and back to the cars. Had lunch by the picnic area and overlook. Pretty exciting for 12-13 year old boys. The adults are always shocked by the hike, but love it. Lots of talk at campfire about the hike. I wonder how many have been back on their own now. Have heard a few stories. Just love that place. Reply
TY so much for posting this great vid! I got very lucky & snagged 5 nights. Heading over there in April. 🙂
No problem! 🙂
I’ve stayed at the south campground and I loved it, one of my favorites. When kayaking, should I be concerned about alligators? 🐊 awesome details to each campground, thanks
We've never seen any, but I'm sure they are there. We will be there again in February 🙂
I'm a local to this area. I have never seen gators in Karick Lake, but that does not mean they are not there. Now at nearby Hurricane Lake I had one approximately 7-foot swim up to my boat within 20 feet. Then he shot off like a torpedo toward a part of the lake that is stagnant with a lot of submerged timber and such.
@@RVLandCruisers when in February, I’m coming through around the 20th
I live right by Rocky Bayou State Park. It is a great value and a great park to get your feet wet for camping. Winn Dixie is just a mile away and many restaurants in the area. A great anchor spot if you want to enjoy a day at the beach but can't dump $100 plus for hotels in Destin. Great Bayou that offers kayak rentals. Good chance you will find dolphins feeding on the bayou. A true Florida Panhandle natural experience. On plug for Henderson it does close the gates when its exceeds its rated capacity. But I rate it as the best place to hit beach drama free.
Thank you. Very informative.
Thank you for providing these videos! We've been heading to FL in winter for a couple of years now. Subscribed!
I camped there a lot I just went there a couple days ago.
We REALLY APPRECIATE this video! Thank you.
Are these interior roads in the park one way?
Been a little while but I'm going to say most of them are.
Can you drive your car up close to the beach entrance to be dropped out?
You can't, but they should be running the shuttle now that can take you close. 😀
Is there a place to ride our bikes to the beach and park them?
Pretty sure there is a bike rack at the beach. Just need to bring your own lock.
@@RVLandCruisers Thank you
Best campsite tour. Thank you!!
Thank you! 😀
Watched the entire video looking for primitive camping. Did I miss it???
Thank you for this video! Awesome job! 👍🏻👍🏻🥰
Looks like there may be a Hickory nut tree there! 😍👍🤔
Thank you so much for a very informative campsite video. It is extremely helpful 😊
Awesome video, great review. Thank you!
Great video as it really helps us see the campground. We always check out campground videos for ideas, so we subscribed to your channel as we also record videos about traveling and seeking adventures with our family!
Way to fast and can’t see site numbers
We stayed at big lagoon last summer. It has a lot of potential to be a great park. One you didn't mention is Fort Pickens on Pencicola beach.
It's because it's not a state park and I was doing only state parks in this particular video. But you are right, Fort Pickens is a another great spot. I did just see that they are just starting to enforce length and height restrictions. So if you go back be very careful and make sure you fit within the perimeters that are listed on their site. They say they're going to be hardcore enforcing them.
This is cool. Thanks for sharing. KTKamping Kent and Tami
Hey guys. Great tour of this campground. Thanks so much for sharing this. Take care and have a great week. New friends here. KTKamping Kent and Tami
Exactly what I was hoping to find. Thank you!
You are welcome! Glad to help! 😀
Well Done video!! Found the campsite we want to book! Thanks!!
I like to hear that we helped!
Just booked 13. Have 28’ Airstream. Tow vehicle is A Silverado Crew Cab. Looks like both will fit ?
We parked our Prius in front of our 28' motorhome. My guess is you should have room. But if there isn't, there is plenty of extra parking in the boat landing area. It's a short walk from your site and the park is very small so shouldn't be a big hindrance for you.
U r a natural!
Thank you! It's been a little while since I've put up new video but I have some more to do. Work has kept me busy so I just need to find some time to make them! I really appreciate your comment! 😀
Hi! Great video! Do you know if the tent sites have electricity outlets? Thanks
I know that at least some do. I'm not sure if all do or not. The one my friend stayed in definitely had a power outlet. 😀
@@RVLandCruisers I live in Panama City which is about an hr from this place and I am just now learning about it. lol Isn't that sad?
@@PhantomPanic it's a great park! At least you DID find it lol ... It used to be a private park until the state bought it. That's why it has things you don't normally see in a state park. You will like it! 😀
@@PhantomPanic We live in Fort Walton. There's about 6 state park campgrounds between Pensacola and Panama City. 4 of them very close to the Destin area.
thanks for the drive by. it gives a better perspective than just a picture.
You're welcome! Exactly why I do them 😀
Did you record the miles each way?
Sadly I did not. But you could probably ride 10+ miles in either direction on the bike path if I had to guess.
Thank you so much for making this video
No problem! I'm glad it helped! 😀
Not much camping anymore unfortunately it’s all RVs now….. that’s the trend on almost all the campgrounds in this stretch of Florida……..
