    Drummer IS the pocket. His rhythms time the GPS satellite system. Guitarist is all over the place. Bass is always out of the pocket. But her legs and high heels are in the pocket. And audience is all doped out. And they have “international influences.” So all is forgiven.

    Amazing that they took a collection of World musical influences, added a deep metronomic pocket with a steady as a rock drummer, and some deceivingly simple sounding but virtuosic guitar playing and are now touring the world. And, that they originated in Houston, TX.

      Not really too surprising that they came out of Houston, as the city is made up of a collection of Mexican, Central American, South American, African, Middle Eastern, South Asian, Southeast Asian and many more distinct communities. It's probably one of the most culturally diverse cities in North America, if not the world. You hear all of those influences in Khruangbin.

      I agree. They are kind of a one trick pony, but they are decent at what they do. I can listen to them in small doses. The cover thing is a little hacky, but the live audiences dig it, makes the shows fun.

    • @manisandher2661

      I like the mk5 a lot. I use it mainly as a multi-channel DAC and it's right up there with anything else I've used. I've taken a couple of mic recordings with it too, and they are stellar. The only real gripe that I have with it is that it doesn't work with either of my Linux streamers. If you don't use Linux, you can't go wrong.

    Hi is there a big difference with anima???

    • @manisandher2661
      @manisandher2661 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Marvel is a true stand-alone full range speaker - it is 'plug and play'. The Anima is far superior in the mid-range and upper bass, but really does require some suppport below 70 Hz or so. I use a subwoofer with the Anima to fill the first couple of octaves. I'm very happy with the result.

They sound great, but, I don’t have a dealer near me to audition….and always have some reservations on blind purchases. In this case, it would a deaf one, too. All the best and thanks for posting! Your system is amazing.

    • @manisandher2661
      @manisandher2661 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the compliment - much appreciated. I like the Marvels a lot. But I find them quite sensitive to the amplification driving them. I have a slight preference for solid state amplifiers, to better control the bottom end. My 8W SET amps sound nice, but I find the bottom end a bit too soft for my liking. YMMV.
