Dhanbari Mosque is located in the municipality of Dhanbari Upazila of Tangail District.[1] It is one of the most important historical architectural landmarks of Dhanbari Upazila. It is located in the Dhanbari Zamindar's house.
This house is located in the middle of the beautiful natural nature between the Banshai and Bairan rivers. King Yashodhar of the Chandra dynasty was the ruler of the former Pukhuria (now Dhanbari was part of this pargana) during the Mughal period. His commander was Dhanuar Khan, the Umrah of the Sultan of Gaur. He skillfully captured the kingdom and gave it to his son Ispinjar Khan.
This Ispinjar Khan and his brother Manowar Khan established the zamindari in Dhanbari, although there are other theories about the establishment of the zamindari. The Dhanbari zamindar house is planned to consist of the main residence building, the Kanchari building, a mosque with three domes and a graveyard. The main residence building is protected by a perimeter wall. There is a spacious garden inside it. It is believed that Ispinjar Khan and Manowar Khan were the founders of the Dhanbari mosque. The mosque is located on the banks of the Dighi outside the Dhanbari Nawab Manzil.
