This was a very helpful video! Big thanks.
Glad it was useful for you!
😂 that trash can has seen things you could not imagine.😂
I'm sure it has! The guy I bought it from said he used to dye his animal traps in it when he was a kid.
from start to finish how many hours do you have in the build?
I can't remember exactly but I would guess about 7 hours. It was a fair amount of work

Do you know of a cooling fluid you an add to help extend blade life for these saws? Great video!!
Sorry I am just now responding to your comment. I don't think there is a fluid designed specifically for this style of saw. It isn't really necessary. The work piece stays cool and the blades stay sharp for a long time. I think cutting fluid would just make a mess.
Can you tell me what the diameter of your oxygen bottle is? Mine might be too large for a cart build that works decently. Thanks and nice video!
Hi Greg. It's a 300 cu ft bottle. I want to say it's about 9.5 inches in diameter. Thank you!
@@falconfabrications Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it.
Mine has a maroon top, the fan in min is a little 120 volt condenser style fan as well.
Interesting. You think that paint and the fan are original to yours?
Excellent! I have an old metal 20 gallon can with a rusted out bottom too. Mine does not have the thick base ring though. Your video has inspired me to try to fix it!
Very cool!! Good luck on your project, I'm sure it will be fun
@@falconfabricationsi think you should make lid for this can too, i would want to see that video happening 😉.
@@oscar0006That is a good idea. More difficult but could be fun. I'll think about it. Thanks
Hi, im wondering what set up is that. As in is that a heavy duty torch and size of tanks. I want to braze 1/16 to 3/4 in steel plates. I am not sure what set up to get
Hello. The oxygen is a 300 cuft and the acetylene is around 140 cuft. Your best bet would be to keep an eye out for a used set that comes with everything you need. Just make sure the bottles are "customer owned" and in good shape. Not sure if you meant you want to braze a range of sizes from 1/16'' to 3/4'' or if you have a specific application where you want to join those 2 sizes together. I've never brazed anything thick like 3/4 steel. I'm sure it can be done but you'd have to get it pretty hot and it wouldn't be as structural as a weld. A stick welder would be good for something like that. You can find them cheap if you're on a budget. Otherwise a good MIG welder is hard to beat for general purpose steel welding, from thick to thin.
I like that, Very nice.
Nice job on the cart! Especially the mig cart. There simple but perfect clean design.
Appreciate it. It's a pretty basic design that isn't very difficult to build. I picked up a larger mig welder recently so I may have to build a 3rd one ha
@@falconfabrications you doing a video for it? I feel like a simple design is more functional in a lot of ways.
Agreed. Yes, I'll likely make a video on the new one but I'm moving out of town temporarily so it may not be until I get back. The welder is one of the newer Millermatic 255's so it'll be quite a bit larger than the previous two.
Nice video!! Very informative.. Keep up the great work..
Thank you!
I like the old stuff .nice find and repair.
Appreciate it. Maybe not the most exciting video but it was a fun repair
That's a good looking cart! I like the V to secure shielding gas.
Thanks. You build some cool stuff!
Awesome man. Love the gray paint. And that fancy imported stain!
Thanks! It stained extra well since my truck was 1000 miles overdue for an oil change.
@@falconfabrications That's the Beverly hillbillies variety of black gold stain.

Nice job pal...i like the one made from tools to😄
Haha thanks! It was unique but kind of a pain to use. I look forward to seeing your new cart
@@falconfabrications thanks bud, just waiting on gas.
I love the old gear..i never find gems like that.
I don't see the old arc welders too often either. I bet a lot of them have been scrapped for the copper unfortunately. Cool channel and nice CAD skills!
Good stuff! I've been toying with picking up a handheld metal cutting saw. So this was helpful. Question: what thickness can you comfortably cut through? Are multiple passes acceptable for thicker?
I think that style of saw is commonly rated to cut 1/4'' plate which is very conservative. I've cut some smaller pieces of 3/4'' and also some 6'' C-channel perpendicular to the "flange" of the channel which was like 2 inches wide. Never tried multiple passes. The best option is to just let the saw cool down more often if you're cutting thick stuff. You can cut thinner sheet too but it's hard on the blade so I keep a spare worn blade for that.
