Old people used to put cornmeal in a pan and mix it with water and pepper it well with black or cayenne pepper and feed it to them. It gets rid of parasites.

You were not supposed to have that much water in your canner. I am not sure if it made any difference to the safety of the food or not. Your jars were not supposed to be covered. I think that size canner if it is the same as mine, only calls for 12 cups of water. In water bath canning the jars get covered but not when pressure canning. There is a line inside the canner and that is how far your water should be without jars in it but it is hard to see. I just know it says in the book that it should be 12 cups. Thanks for sharing the video. I am new to your channel. It came up for me because I am in the process of pressure canning and water-bath canning in the last few days so I am looking up videos. Sutton's Daze, is a good one for newbie canners....which I still consider myself even though I have been doing it since 2020.

How I hope the kids these days would have the same beautiful childhood that I did.... Believe me, it wasn't always happiness and joy, but still very much the best ever. Miss those days.... ❤
