Im gonna hold your hands when I’ll tell you this I’ve contacted with Jun Shibuya (vox and leader of the band) and he said that they’re not planning to release their discography on spotify. Even remastered versions, they’ll sell CD’s online and worldwide shipping will also be available

i plan on doing a video of their entire past and present, the lead singer is still active. honey dip disbanded in 2003 after not seeing any success, the music video was their last shot at making it big. jun Shibuya the lead singer went silent musically for many years, up until 2015 where he played a spontaneous set with ex members of the band "Tokyo shoegazer" at the birthday party of an ex member, this set made him form a new band with the ex members, this band was formerly known as CQ up until recently, and then had a name change. their music is exceptional and I highly recommend it, CQ is a strange case, and the way they treat their distribution of music says a lot about them now, they seem to have purposefully did the name change to stop people from finding their music, like a chase. as well as other factors like physical only releases, which their friends over at Coaltar of the Deepers also do, and Japan only streaming releases. I'll definitely work on the video once I have a computer, ive written and collected a lot of information, as well as where to find their CDs and photos of old merch that can't be attained

@@7xig I don't think CQ went through a "name change" per se. It was more so the original Tokyo Shoegazer members remaking the band Tokyo Shoegazer. Their band disbanded in 2013, and as you said, they later made CQ in 2014. We obviously don't know the reason as to why CQ stopped being active but my best guess is that the members just went their separate ways once again. This led to the original members of Tokyo Shoegazer that were in CQ to remake their band recently in 2019. It's a shame that CQ came to an end since I personally think that their different take to shoegaze was much better than the music being made by Tokyo Shoegazer, but the band really was special. As for the distribution of their music, I think the OG members realized that they would have no success that way so they've began to upload their music to streaming platforms

@@3m1629 they themselves referred to themselves as "higher hell" formerly CQ. it seems you're confused on what I meant by name change, CQ had a name change to higher hell, this name change coincided with no longer uploaded on music platforms, but I was able to acquire their albums in Japan. they are no longer CQ, and they haven't disbanded, it's just a name change. they never came to an end

@@3m1629 to further clarify, they put on their website that's now offline, that they are "higher hell, formerly CQ" embracing the name change. and even after the change they continued to put out music, your assumptions of a disbandment are incorrect

@@7xig As I said we truly don't know if "CQ" disbanded. But I believe you're getting mixed up with the whole higher hell records thing. Higher Hell Records is the label they publish their music under. In the CQ days they published under Vinyl Junkie Recordings. They also posted on their facebook saying that they "merged" with Higher Hell Records and will be moving over to Tokyo Shoegazer. Sasabuchi was the one who ran the facebook page and is also the one currently running the Tokyo Shoegazer one. I guess you are right with that they never truly came to an end but the original CQ lineup was Jun Shibuya, Kiyomi Watanabe, Yoshitaka Sugawara, Yukio Obuchi, and Sasabushi Hiroshi. The current Tokyo Shoegazer lineup consists of Shoko Inoue, Kiyomi Watanabe, Yoshi, The K, and Sasabuchi so with only 2 members from CQ being apart of Tokyo shoegazer as well as those two members being a part of the original Tokyo Shoegazer, I will let you guess what happened.

ive been searching all over Japan for some CDs from this band, or at least CDs from their new band CQ, still can't find anything

@@7xig Man, can you find anything about the japanese band called White Come Come? I love them, and all i know about them is the video here on youtube by the channel underrated: White Come Come - Shoegaze Hidden Gems. Plus their participation on the compilation album by japanese bands called: Brand New Skip Decoration, in which they have a different song called 'How I feel'. I want so bad to find more information about them and listen to the only other existent song by them that i haven't listen to yet, called Like a Tea. But I see that it's WAY harder to find information by them in comparison to honeydip.
