Shovelhead instead of panhead - poor!
Yes poor is a good description. Built on a budget. Would like to see your builds ?
@@davidsmith5263 give me your email and I send pictures of mine
Captain America bike was a pan not a shovel if ur going to do it do it right
Built on a budget Have you tried getting a pan motor?
Great job
I always had trouble starting my 1971 B50, I never got the knack and didn't know whether it was tuned properly. It was a spurr of the moment opportune purchase at an auction, but had to resell later to refinance. I wished I could have kept it.
Doesn't look like an Ironhead.
@@davemanone3661 ?
@davidsmith5263 A lot of the iron heads I have seen are notched out on the face of the valve heads. Just wondering what the difference is, yours looks like a regular shovelhead. ✌️
ir0nheads rule!!! 🤘😎🤘
ir0nheads rule!!! 🤘😎🤘
You had the magneto advanced to start. Then you retarded it after starting. Backwards.
How inacurate would the timing be,by just swinging the mag like that
@llewvirtue861 well if u enjoy a good kick back on advance then off you go 😉
Mine starts on the 15th time.
Lots of critics here, there have been lots of replicas built and they nearly all have front brakes and the rake is different to the original because Peter Fonda has said that the original was terrible to ride. And to the comment that you should have used a drum on the front, the original didn't have a front brake at all. Yeah I've researched this pretty well because I'm building one myself but it will be a look alike but practical, Evo motor and discs both ends. Well done.
Thank u mate yes we built it for a customer on a budget. And he rides it every day .good brakes . And enough rake to look great and be practical to tide well he has changed the risers since with the original dog bones wich makes it look more like the original. Appreciate your comments 🙏
3:57 the build starts
Just fuckin beautiful
Already commented on the movie, but damn the rest of your video is way more legit... song selection is epic during a capt. 🇺🇸 build.
Never seen this with the cut outs, thank you!❤
Actually the "Captain American " is the most famous Motorcycle ever built. It just happens to be a Chopper designed by Pete Fonda and built for the Movie.
Built by "Uncle" Ben Hardy Los Angles Cal. Not Peter Fonda.
@@JamesMiller-q9w Thanks, I was show casing the design. I should have highlighted the Builder. I said "designed by Peter Fonda and built for the Movie" Fonda also designed the "Billy Bike" and was built for the Movie. Both Bikes were built by Ben Hardy.
If your not going to do it and try to be somewhat faithful to the original…..Why bother!!!! Sorry but it’s kind of a Captain America like substance!!!!!
I usually don't reply to idiots but really....I'd like to see your attempt of any sort of build ....this bike was built on a budget for a customer. And he actually wanted to ride it as a daily ride which means it also had to be road legal ...which brings a whole lot of other factors into the build.......try asking questions next time instead of having a brain fart
@@davidsmith5263 Wow so much Hate!!!! I’m forwarding your nastiness to TH-cam!!!! I’m sure they will take a keen interest in your reply……I’m allowed to have an opinion…..I didn’t single out anyone by name calling which you seem ready and willing and so able to do!!!!! I don’t have to understand the budget or what went into the construction or what said person or persons were going to do with the motorcycle…..my thing I didn’t like the bike, that’s as simple and concise as I can put it.
@easyrider484483 if your going to comment expect a little backlash
Hello David. Great job restoring the RV90. I recently picked up a 1972 RV90 (Blue) with only 884 original miles on the odometer. Question: where did you purchase the Bridgestone tire in size 6.7-10? Do you know if tire size 21x7x10 would work on the stock hubs? Thank you.
Hi mate . They were the actual original tyres which I scrubbed with soapy water then used tyre shine after and painted tyre white on letters . Depending on how bad your tyres are ? These tyres are hard to get Depending what country your in
Nice bike, but hope this isn't called a "replica". There are so many things wrong with this bike. Maybe it's a "replica" just not an "exact replica".
Built for a customer on a budget wanted something close ....
Just for curiosoty sake what was your ballpark total cost?...I'm kind of considering a strange project similar.
We built this for a customer.......he supplied the doner bike with parts and chroming I would say around the 15k AU there was alot of fabrication of bits to the frame and parts not able to buy off the shelf Chroming is expensive Also seat made from scratch blew the budget best to start with a bike already road registered to save the hassle of a road worthy inspection if they do that where your from
Ghost rider brought me here
Lovely bike, '84 I Couriered on a nearly new Kawa.750 turbo, owned 4 kawa. shaft drives, 750 being my favourite Kawasaki, for all round, low down fun. March '19 no bike Kawasaki for 27 years, got a 05 GSF BANDIT 650 inj. Wow 58, 59 times more biking joy, than the turbo, GT 750 or Bandit ?, toss of a coin, probably hoped landed Bandit side up. But GPZ 900 ? SUPERB.
Can you share what you used for the turn signals since the 1980 style didn't come with them from factory, so I've read. Thanks!
They are lucas type ones from old brittish bikes available online ebay .cheers
What seat is that
Got it off ebay Cafe racer seat
1955 G80S ?
That bike is so cool! Don't think I couldn't stand the handlebars being so high tho, hate the headlight and chromed frame too, nor would I like the front of the engine that jacked up and out of balance, but yea gonna build my own Clapton America, cuz now more than ever America's freedom is disappearing and will soon be gone for good!
It's all in the details and it doesn't matter how long it takes to find all the right parts, if I built that exact bike I would've passed on the Captain America paint job.
I'm not sure what you mean 🤔
@@davidsmith5263 The original bike is worthy of taking the time and effort to scrounge up every single correct part, like dog bones and not risers, and getting the paint right, the stars on the original tank were not symmetrical, when the stars are all aligned as so many guys have done, it just looks wrong, you've deviated to such an extent that the bike would be more respectable as a good looking chopper if it had a gloss black blue flame paintjob instead of a captain america replica. some guy in Japan built the best example of the bike I've ever seen. th-cam.com/video/6AoYQfiJcx8/w-d-xo.html
@sam iam send me some pics and videos off your projects I'm sure there and precis as we all have a bottomless pit of money 💰
@@davidsmith5263 No need getting your panties in a bind but the rake and extension are off by miles, maybe you should call it the easy way out.
What rear is that?
David Smith, I'd love too know more about this conversion as I have been looking for a suitable motor to replace the stock Hunter 250 in mine.
Hi mate don't bother with the street 500 motor. Was way too hard getting around the harley stupid security on everything. Nightmare
@@davidsmith5263 Thanks David, My Bro said the same as you but I do like to tinker. Maybe I'll go down the same road as to what Johnny Pagg does in the States, look around for an old 80's Jap bike engine 650cc, something like that, he doesn't seem to have many problems dropping those types of motors into the Spyder frames, looks pretty straight forward and he sells a fair few of them from what I've heard.
такая мощь, а на редуктор цепь идет, интересно
Nice bike!
Disappointed you used a shovel head engine rather than a panhead though....(I do love shovels but not for this bike, makes it a tribute rather than a replica) I'll not mention the other little differences. A nice job nevertheless. I am an ex owner of a replica (with a front brake lol) which I sold on 2021..... th-cam.com/video/bCqOxRMRsKA/w-d-xo.html&lc=Ugzd6VHEt5iSsqmm7R54AaABAg

Missing the dogbone risers.
Has them now fitted about 2 months ago custom made ones like the original

Perfect job amigo
Hi there: I really appreciate a fine piece of machinery. And this is definitely something I could see myself riding. But I am thinking along the lines of a trike with the same color set contrast. So how may I contact you for your advice on this issue. And address and phone number for the shop.
Hi mate ...depending on where u are in the world ....with regards to a shop building one for u . It's always best to start with something already road worthy and registered. Then turn it into your dream bike . Less hassle with government road laws that way
Bon choix, shooooooooper.
Fricking badass bike!!!
Jack lol
you used a shovel? Its the wrong engine. Both chops were panheads. Total fail.
Honestly. Grow up ....built on a budget.... if you bothered to watch and read the whole video.... really
@@davidsmith5263 I don't give a fat rats behind about your budget. Capt America bike and Billy bike were panheads. I'm done with you.
