Was 9/10 base on time frame in 1990 , I was in that finding my music faze -Listen to some hip hop /rb etc at first then move on to metal/trash/speed but lol cause headach in end and didn't click on personal level . Say by mid 1990s , around my pre/teen years I found this band and all other punk bands . Everything click for this poor white happy kid ,at 43 still going back in time trying find bands I miss or never gave proper time to . Never seen them live but seen Mike side band once . Some reason after 90s bands stop coming to Kentucky beside those big fest crap . I miss small personal love show rooms .
Poor man!!!
Love Mike's anteater voice. The real real real real deal.
It's just the same riff throughout the whole song!? No guitar fills? No fills whatsoever? No breakdown chorus? Just that repeating riff makes me wanna gouge my hair out of my follicles! Can be better
❤
Poorman! Damn that takes me back.
Ness guitar sounds great 😊
This era of young Mike Ness looks like he was the middle-brother or the cousin of Dave Gahan (of Depeche Mode) and Andrew "Dice" Clay😎
Saw em play a free matinee show at the Celebrity Theatre in Anaheim around this time
Is that the poorman pre kroq? Man i didnt know he was on ch 56 for that long
Seeing Dennis always makes me sad… So unfortunate and unfair that he passed so young… Incredible rhythm guitarist and amazing style… I’ve heard he was a heck of a guy too…
Dennis looked exactly like jonny two bags
Loved Social D from age 10 when I saw Another StTe of mind doc on Nite Flight....a video show on Saturday at like 1Am on USA network....damn I'm old lol
I used to see this band play all the time in Montebello back yard parties. I’ve been looking for their old school tunes such as “I’m going on a holiday” and “I need you”. Anyone got any links to their old school 1990s stuff. That was true punk
Dennis Dannel RIP...
INA
The boysss
3 chords and the truth? Mike ness says hold on, I can do that in 2 chords.....Let It Be Me!
Thanks for this video, we appreciate this immensely, and what an awesome night we had...OPAP
This was the year I saw them open for The Damned at the Palladium in Hollywood.
A rather odd fact: younger Mike Ness has a weird resemblance to Steven Gerard (former Liverpool midfielder)
Ha! Had to look it up, but I can definitely see it.
Fun fact when icp first started out this same background in a so cakked rare video
This isn’t the entire segment 😢
This is freakin awesome. !! Next stop Rock and Roll hall of fame
Hollywood Palladium 1992 was my 1st concert out of high school! i remember Request video So cal... followed by Wally George!!!! KDOC 56!!!!
request video + wally george - name a more iconic duo!
good old days
I remember seeing this. Channel was from OC (but I was in LA city) and I had to use a twisted coat hanger on the TV to get better reception. That video show played a lot of cool stuff back in the day.
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
That was a pretty good sound for a public access set. Dang.
The PoorMan!!!!! Hahaha. What happened to this guy? Mike Ness and his mumbling for the win!!!! I also thought I was so drunk and stoned at the shows that I could never understand what he was saying, but 30 years later and sober, I still can not understand him, lol.
The mix match wardrobe of this guys is hilarious. Rockabilly, surfer, greaser, Mod. Totally 80s characters all around. I miss the 80s.
Teen 90s in Greece , bad relegion social distortion and dead kennedies
Preety sure i saw social d.with sonic youth and n.young in glens falls N.Y. in 90 - 92
LOL is that Poor Man?
Good god. Too much hotness on one stage. 😍😛
all that fucking echo good lawd
My friend Eric Maaske introduced me to Mike around 1995 at classic tattoo, Fullerton. I ended up buying his 55 Pontiac. Those were the days.
You still have the Ponty?
hello from Hollywood Joe !
First saw them live summer of '92 - been a fan ever since and seen them many more times. Always a great show!
What the hell is this?
First time I saw SD they opened for TSOL at SIR Studios in Hollywood. Jack taunted the lapd and it turned into a literal riot. Bought the ticket and handful of black beauties from a liquor store across the street. Fun times!
What’s black beauties?
@@thebarrochannelIt's a drug.
It's speed... (uppers)
I remember that night. I was outside the whole time.
I've been a fan for 30 years, damn feel old. Then a chick ruined them for me when she said all their songs sound the same. Worst part is she was correct
Social D is just another band claiming to be punk (against big gov) while fighting for big gov (DEMS). Mike Ness is just another sell out POS fighting to be ruled by big gov which is the exact opposite of what punk stands for
punk is about social and culture, not politics, gtfo dork
i remember buying the self titled major lable release in 1990. Saw a video on MTV.
So fucking cool.
Where's Wally George????
Drove by the KDOC building off the 5 today.

I remember watching this on Channel 56!! I was in 9th grade. Good ol’ days.
Love 👍🏻it
This was right about the time that they had gotten beyond being a garage band. Social Distortion has stayed strong and relevant for decades.
I’m a big fan, seen them many times. First time was in 1985 at a VFW hall with Bad Religion. But their last album sucks. The quire girls back up singer total not my style. Only two good songs on that last Hard times Nursery Rhymes album.
