Excellent talk, thank you all! I wonder, in the interests of accessibility and afore-discussed diversity-are there plans to add captions or subtitles to this video?

You can currently switch on closed captions with TH-cam, but I’ll ask BWF if they intend to subtitle an additional video! 👍

So appropriate of the chair Matt Foley to begin and end the session with poetry by Aboriginal Oodgeroo Noonuccal. Many secondary schoolteachers introduced her concepts of injustice to young people and helped to create empathy. Empathy, combined with political action, creates change - as the speakers all eloquently demonstrated.

I love everything that she says except for what she says abt plastic surgery. In south korea, teenage girls as young as 12, 13 get plastic surgery as graduation gifts. I teach kids at an academy and only one of them didnt get it because she was born with natural double eyelids. It's sad.

Marvelous and soul nourishing. I surrendered entirely to the greater force when I reached a blank wall and the proverbial Question about, what next. I had absolutely no clue but an abundance of unconditional faith that whatever the next chapter, it was going to be great and a worthwhile part of the ongoing journey of life.

Heart-breaking, beautifully narrated, and ultimately hopeful. Everyone must read 'Apeirogon' - this is how the imagination allows us to reach out to the other, without judgement, and with the courage to heal the oldest wounds, even those that bring war, hatred and destruction.

I don't agree at all to the point of that Facebook article and you have to a job and it doesn't matter if you hate it, love it, like it, etc! You spend so much time of your life at a job and time is a constant. You can't revert it back. So not only go after a job but after one you love. Not always possible but keep going for it!!!

“It doesn’t benefit you at any stage to practice self abuse in any way... any voice that speaks to you with cruelty is not your highest self”. Absolutely! I will remind myself of that every day.

“If you’re somebody who gages herself on how well you’re doing compared to a former version of herself, that’s a disaster”. Thank you Elizabeth, I really needed to hear this. You are my spirit guide incarnate. Years ago somebody told me not to compare myself to other people, and that it was only fair to compare myself to myself and see how far I’ve come. But instead of doing that, I was comparing myself to former versions of myself when I was in a different place in my life, and I would compare myself to that and want to get back that. I really needed to hear this today. I wrote it down in my journal and I will take it into my soul. Thank you.

Interviewer is really annoying. Not connecting with what Liz is saying. Interrupting at all the wrong places. Asking disconnected questions from whatever the thing on her lap. Asking Superficial questions, speaking (& laughing ) in uneven, high pitched annoying tone. Hurts my ears. Torture!!! She should never.ever be allowed to interview anyone again.
