It's illegal to collect , sell bat guano in Malaysia , the police will track you down. With Forestry Department. The British colonist have studied this and made it illegal since their time , then Malaya. Because it collapses the bat colony and they don't return. Our jungles have lost a lot of it's diversity due to lost of vectors( fauna). In the 70's you'ld see the mass migration of flying foxes. And the Raja Brooke. Welcome to Malaysia !
Thanks for the info. However, I did not intend to collect and sell bat guano. 😅

Kl is just a layover spot?how insulting
It's of course far more than that and I didn't say it's only that. I said it is a perfect spot if you wanna have a layover. Don't mean to be insulting, you could have of course weeks there and not seen everything, like with all cities that size.

Koh Tao is known as Murder island It's no joke Please read the news
Well for everyone I have known who's been there it has always only been paradise 😅
@@motkawon consider yourselves lucky
@@return4570 did some reading up on that. Seems it's got that from 11 westerners dead within a decade. Feel that doesn't make it an actual unsafe place then, looking at how many travel there every day and get back safely.
@@motkawon I lived in Thailand for 2 years, and have visited most of it and spent about 10 years in Southeast Asia. Koh Tao is an especially dangerous place - I had my own experiences there as well. It is run by mafia and is swarming with hitmen from the mainland. A LOT goes unreported. When things can’t be swept under the rug, there is a lot of denial and corruption - and those responsible for some heinous acts still roam the island. As I said - count yourself lucky - don’t go into denial just because you had an ok time and you don’t want to go back on what you said in your video Anyone who wants to know more can google it - and there and a lot of TH-cam videos on the subject It’s an especially dangerous place and by going there you are giving your money to mafia and killers who target foreigners
@@return4570 well I'm not gonna argue about that as I don't have the knowledge. Just speaking of my experience and the people I met, all had good times. I'm honestly not gonna read up more on that topic because then I would have to do for all places that have a dangerous side and then there wouldn't be many places left. But still thanks for the heads up.

what happened to your drone?
I lost connection flying it around the Mua Cave viewpoint in Ninh Binh. It crashed into the mountain. Funnily it was found and sent back to me months later when I was back home and it still worked. Found a new owner since.
Nice! Thailand is such a beautiful country!
Indeed. Can absolutely understand why it's been the south east Asia go to country for decades now.
Storms in teacups, really. Its a privaliged class that gets to travel, full stop.Overt reactionary stuff, well, is often click bait..deal with it and move on. Often find country to country comparisons completely unnecessary. But enjoy the visuals, no matter where. Goodluck.😅
I never intended to frame Sydney in a particularly bad way. I simply share my impressions and feelings and fair enough, it's a huge privilege to be able to travel. But remembering that doesn't always make every travel day a wonderful day and I don't aim to pretend every day on my trip was like that. Could I have appreciated Sydney more for what it is? Sure! But in that moment, I wasn't able to. If I tried to click bait I'd have named the Video "10 reasons why I hated Sydney" Instead the title is literally just the way I felt during my time there.
@@motkawon oh absolutely, travelling is tiring and it is hard work to stay fresh....big citys often are indeed confronting if you have been in nature and quiet. My comments were more generalised to the sometimes syndrome, of bagging a place, city, nation for small reasons. Just a preference only to put forward the positives of a place. But youthful views and impressions are valued. Appreciate the honesty of course. Dont believe you are clickbaiting, but there are a lot more travel bloggers doing it now. Competitive market i guess. Happy travels.
ENJOY THE TIME IN VIETNAM🌞🌴🍜🌭⛩
Thanks, I will :D

These are sick bro! Missing Hoi An and that hostel
Thanks man! Actually going back to Cuckoos in April because I loved it so much :D
the landscape in this loop is so surreal!
It absolutely is!
Hi Tom, how much did you pay for the tour? And did u book it in advance or at arrival?
Hey, not entirely sure but I think around 185USD for self driver 3days/2nights tour. With an easy rider it's just a few bucks more. I booked it through my Hanoi hostel. All the hostels there do have partnerships with Ha Giang tour operators.
Awesome, thank you
We did the loop with “Authentic Ha Giang” tour company. We paid 460 for me, my wife and an easy rider. We had private rooms and did 4 days. There was happy water, but no techno party atmosphere. Included was a night of accommodation before and after the tour plus round trip on VIP sleeper bus from Hanoi. It was just the 3 of us on the loop tour.
@@ChrisSlack sounds pretty alright to me with private rooms and bus transfer etc. all included.
Sydney has roughly the same population as New Zealand. Might explain why it's busy.
It's not that I was surprised by how busy it was. After the remoteness of New Zealand it was just difficult to handle.
Thank you for sharing.whats the name of the tour company
It's called Ha Giang Hostel. Can only recommend! Like most hostels in Ha Giang they all offer their own tour.
I'm traveling to Vietnam in 4 days, and this video is super helpful. I'll definitely do the Ha Giang Loop, thank you!
Happy it helped you out. You should absolutely do the loop, its a must and you will not regret it. If you want to go for a bit more party and nightlife, go with the Jasmine Hostel tour, I've heard people love it too. If you rather want to have it a little more intimate I can only suggest Ha Giang hostel. Mitigate your chances wasting a day being super hung over :D Just be aware, to see the entire country you must have at least 3 weeks, i had three, only made it to Hoi An really, taking a flight from there to Ho Chi Minh as I no time left and still felt really burned out at the end.
@@motkawon Thanks for the tips :) I'm staying for 2 weeks, besides Ha Giang, and flying out from Ho Chi Minh, no other plans, probably add some place in the middle of Vietnam, maybe Hoi An, maybe not. Leave something for the next time, hahaha ;)
Gili Trawangan is in Lombok, not Bali 😊

Good adventure boy❤😊
Hey Tom, what exactly is that bali belly phenomena?
Pretty much just a cute name for a stomach bug/food poisoning from bacteria in the food and water. Western tourists get it all over Asia but in Indonesia it seems to hit more people than in other places. Also once people survived Indo, Thailand and Vietnam seem fine 😂 don't know about India tbh
@@motkawon Ah! thats interesting but also scary. Happy that it did not effect you a lot. Haven't heard such a thing in India but wont be surprised if those spices don't agree with the westerners😂

Happy I could help. You'll love it, despite the many tourists 😉
Sydney is attractive. At least around Port Jackson, up the North Shore and the southern coastal region. For me, three or four days is enough.I way prefer rural Australia where the people are friendly and nature stuns.
Looking forward to get to see that side of Australia in 2024❤

Indonesia isn’t Bali… the big island etc, java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Papuan, lombok and the others 17.000 island…
I'm well aware of that and this is why I specifically mentioned Bali only! However, I stay by what I said regarding my mixed feelings about the mass tourism on Bali.
I'm sorry that your visit had some ups and downs. You didn't really elucidate what the 'downs' were all about except for the fact that Sydney was particularly 'busy'. People have commented on this aspect of Sydney before in other videos - some enjoy it some don't. Personally I fail to understand the issue. Australia has only 25.6M people and Sydney only some 6M most of which live in the west of the city - so the Eastern Suburbs should be fairly normally densely populated for a typical 'western' city. Compared with LA, NY, SF, in the US, and other countries like: Tokyo, China and their main cities, or Indian cities, Sydney is fair sparsely populated. Yet people continue to comment on the issue. I have to ask myself, are these people (yourself included, as you claim to suffer from the issue) just trying to create drama and 'likes' for their channel? Given the other places that everyone claims to have visited and the populations at those locations, one has to wonder. I watched one channel we are a couple was exploring the Australian outback, where literally there is just one or two people for every hundred kilometres and they were claiming how they were feeling oppressed by the presence of people around them. And then in the next video they catch a flight to Bali and Indonesia, where literally 66 million people live on the continent in a land area literally 1/50 the size of Australia. So one has to wonder just how genuine some of these TH-camrs are. Care to shed any light on my comments and you expression here in this video?
Appreciate that you took the time to write that comment. I explain a bit more about that in a later video. The biggest down was not the city itself, it was the hostel I was staying in. I failed to gel with the place and felt quite lonely for a few days, despite the hostel being huge and super crowded. Also had a constant sleep deprivation as for the location of my room being next to a main road and a couple of other things. The reason I touch on the busyness of the city so much is just because I personally felt it so much these days, not because the city is so much busier than other major cities. But this is due to where I came from. After two months in New Zealand, mostly on my own avoiding hostels and loving the loneliness, it was just a huge contrast. However, I definitely liked Sydney and in fact, I'll be coming back to AUS for quite some time and also will visit Sydney again soon. I try not to create artificial drama as I don't see myself as a youtuber. I'm a guy who likes making videos who filmed his travels to have a bit of a digital diary and I put it here so friends and family can watch it. But I try to not create artificial moments, neither good or bad ones, I just say what I think or feel in that moment. In this case, if only watched this specific video, it might sound worse than it was. At the time, I just wasn't the happiest and struggled with being there and looked forward to move on, that's just how it was. I actually also moved on to Bali and in my Bali videos you'll hear me rambling about how overcrowded Bali is all the time, while I didn't feel that way later in Hanoi, despite it being Sydney on steroids. But I had adapted to that by then, I guess. Hoping this did shed some light on the whole topic.
Ok I understand. Thank you for your lengthy replay. I'm really sorry you had such a bad time with th accommodation. Due to a workplace injury, I've been watching a lot of YT for the past two years and I'm now beginning to see that YTer's seem to be focused on creating content over actually documenting their lives or travels. Perhaps I'm just imagining it, I don't know. I used to work the city for many years and I grew tired of it, then for many more years I traveled and worked outside of Sydney. And now, through YT I'm am re-discovering just how pretty and beautiful Sydney has become with all the clean up of its waterways, streets, etc. I hope when you come back you have a much more pleasant experience. Please try to get away from the city itself (try Cronulla, or Bundeena) and seek out other cities and locations: Wollongong, Kiama, or Jervis Bay. The west coast of Australia is stunning and Queensland has it good points too, as do Victoria and South Australia. Even venture into the interior for some real change of pace. I wish you the best of safe travels. @@motkawon
@@gbsailing9436 I'm sure you're not wrong about the whole youtube thing and how it leads creators to exaggerate things to create more captivating content towards the better or the worse. I guess you always also have to factor in how people are different, some more energetic and outgoing and others are less of that. And of course cultural differences, I wanna say most German youtubers will not throw in a "this is so amazing" every two minutes like maybe US youtubers probably would, simply as Germans often are a bit calmer, more reserved. It's not even, that I had such a bad time, it was just not a constant high like the two months before, this is why I sad Ups and Downs. But overall I much enjoyed my time in Sydney and looking forward to go back and have much more time there. Thanks for all the recos, will arrive in Perth and do the Westcoast first to then see where things lead me to.
Enjoy! @@motkawon
