Wow 😮 with this we save literally over $2000 dollars 😮 , thanks for share your knowledge 😊
First time i saw the code 420 i thought is was for the driver is too high.😊
Tank on E😢
Is it upstream or downstream of the cat?
If you get caught hacking your Vehicles catalytic converter you have to go to the prison call the catalytic converter prison for hackers it's in Barton Illinois some of the most hardened catalytic converter hackers our housed there a n d after you're released you have to wear a catalytic converter chained around your neck for 6 months so everybody knows that you are a converter hacker not a pretty picture is it
Why in the hell did you double up the spacers 😳 thankfully you didn’t by a five pack 🤣
It's easier to buy the longer defowler instead of using two. I put one on my 2012 dodge worked great. And because I bought the longer defowler no drilling.
6500k is warmer
Did any smoke come out while idle?
@@anotherfeelingsoundstoslee7208 no no smoke
Where did you pick it up from?
@@UnworthyMotors I got mine off ebay
DAM, boost, FKL, AF1, %etoh (im running e85), feedback knock, and separate gauges for oil temp and oil pressure.
What psi should they open
@@KClife9TV they are all different in bought a new spring to put in mine to open at the 15 to 20lbs range I think I bought mine from turbo smart mine was the green one
@mightymotors2074 do you know what the stock one is supposed to open at
@ I honestly don’t remember
@@mightymotors2074 I think might be bad. It doesn't open until 20lbs and my thumb can barely push the valve on the bottom easily
@ you mi got need to grease it or get a new spring might be a lot of resistance I used to grease mine every summer
Its works for few miles only😂😂😂
If I have two O2 sensors then I would have to bypass both?
Only the downstream o2 sensor.
All you're doing is making your car work harder
I don't understand how that works?
Just clean the cat in acetone and reuse the old one if really pressed for cash
I gutted my front cats and run Doug Thorley catless B pipes on my 2005 Nissan Xterra. I have tried three different types of spacers and the P0420 P0430 codes come back within 10 miles of driving. Scratching my head as to what to try next. Thinking of the resistor fix but there are mixed results with that one too..🤬 The truck runs great otherwise and gets over 20 MPG, just hate the CEL..
This is illegal. You are not authorized to modify the federally illegal exhaust system. The O2 sensors will no longer get a steady stream of exhaust gas and will no longer work properly. Many states will fail you for emissions testing. Section 203(a)(3) of the Clean Air Act prohibits tampering with emission controls and manufacturing and selling products that defeat or bypass emission controls.
😂😂😂 go hug a tree
Looks like mine right now
Is that stuff was any good your oil would have been much dirtier.
I got the same code in my G37 and the code reader says posible cause for that fault is to check the flanges at the down pipes.
does it pass the emissions test?
@@luis1930pericles no it won’t pass
Will this pass emissions?
@@jaman2366 it will not
A Shop-Vac makes easy work of that. Good tip on getting it out though for sure. 👍🏻
this does NOT work , this kind of shite needs to stop .
You should just stop commenting, it’s a tuner car moron
Where can you buy these now, I looked at Lowe's and they have alot and nothing like that. What size is average threads on male and the female which I still have old one I replaced and helped out for few hundred miles but small gasket leak at back of cat , now much worse and I'm gonna try jb weld exhaust tape repair. Just at the collector. Thanks if any replies
Amazon injustice picked upma 2pack for 12bucks
Any automotive store has those , they're called the spark plug Fowler's there are other names for them
No Home Depot or Lowe's will not have that
“Lowe’s” that’s a lumberyard, check the Waffle House
What’s the consequence when someone get caught? Jail time? Fine? License revoked? Anyone know? I’m down to do this . I’m the owner of the car and have rights.😄
How to get the foulers please
Any auto store will have them!
My resonated test pipes have longer elbow shape bungs and I just got a P2098 code a week after installing the pipes, what is the difference between P2098 and the P0420?
What app is that
@@summerbennett3335 it’s not in app it’s just a voice mail from my grandmother I had saved on my phone
@@mightymotors2074 ok rip
Will adding a spark plug non-fowler to the downstream O2 sensor on a NEW cat fix the issue? I've had the NEW cat (likely not OEM) and I'm still getting the P0420 code despite no exhaust leaks, new o2 sensors
@@user-bc1kp1sl2e yes I think that would definitely still help you
@@mightymotors2074 okay because I did everything, new Cat, new o2 sensors, personally checked the entire exhaust system and at first I found a leak to the manifold but I personally replaced and inspected it after with no leaks but the code came back on after 3 days of clearning it with an obd2 scanner
It fixed it
How you get the screen? Plz share 🙏🙏
@@LudicrousM14 I had to make the rakers to mount it but then it was just a 100 Amazon touchscreen radio
How long did your subaru last using mobil1 oil and fram filter?
Had 280000 on it when I sold it I put about 70,000 in The car
@@mightymotors2074 I’m assuming you never had a problem with the engine? Good to know the cheap alternative still works.
@@kuago no never had a problem at all I did the oil with full synthetic every 5000 miles
my parents died and its just my grandparents 😢
That’s sweet
Will not pass in ny
Hack!
Now I feel better about the few flakes I found in the oil pan I just replaced
Is this for downstream #2 sensor and not #1 sensor?
Yes downstream sensor and if you buy the longer defowler no drilling is required and you only use 1.
This guy gives technicians a bad name. Instead of hacking the susyem why not perform the diagnostic and actually fix the issue?
The CAT is more then likely functional. But reading a little below threshold. Why spend 300-1000 dollar. Replacing the cat when the car is worth 1k-4k. When a $10 spacer corrects the issue.
Because the cost of replacing a cat is very high. Here in Canada you're looking at paying a shop Can$2500-3500 Not everyone has that kind of money.
Assuming this is a Subaru... Subarus have a high rate of p0420 engine codes. Something to do with their programming a Subaru tech told me. Once a car gets more than 8 or 9 years old, replacing the catalytic converter on a Subaru is like half the value of a car. At the time of this reply, my 2016 Forester has a P0420 code. Dealer wants $4,200 for a new catalytic converter. Subaru requires the entire exhaust system from the headers back to be replaced. Non-dealer Subaru shop is about $600 less, still $3,600. To be any less than that, you're going aftermarket cat, which will only last a year or so. In the case of my car, it's probably just slightly less efficient, probably 95% instead of 100%. Why would I want to spend thousands of dollars, to slightly increase the quality of emissions my car puts out?
Probably bc it’ll cost 3000$.
Well for a self claimed tech you’re clearly unaware what you are looking at. For starters he’s using an accessport to read the code and is running a catless down pipe so the issue isn’t fixing it incorrectly but the fact that a functioning 02 sensor would read incorrectly on a modified/tuned car. He never said to do it, in fact said it wasn’t correct. Before you call someone out you should educate yourself otherwise you have proven your lack on knowledge. Don’t claim to be a tech, own the fact you’re just running off with no clue about the vehicle. You have yourself a bad name but proved you’re incompetence
That hack doesn't fix anything.
I have to do this on my sti. I just ordered the tool lol
@@maxb1985 lol wish I had the tool haha but I’m glad I was able to find something I had laying around
Which model do you gave and why do you use a 91 tune
So I had a 2006 Subaru Outback xt with the 2.5 turbo. You have to use a minimum of 91 with your Subaru turbo motors because it says to in the manual and when you open the gas cap the flap says 91 required
I replaced all 3 sensors on my 2008 dodge Durango. Put about 1200 miles on it. And the code showed up again? Now what?
check your cat converter, which made the new sensor bad
Yeah, you are going to need some harbor freight jackstands.
i did this and it completely bricked my truck but it cleared my oil pressure but now it won’t start at all i followed the directions and everything
Yea go buy a v8 Toyota you will forget your hood even opens, you will forget all the hassle and wondering on what tricks you can do to fix the manufacturers mistakes. You will forget about forums on how to do this or that because it's broken.
@@vadimnesen8060 yeah i’m good toyotas are junk, figured out the problem was a 20 dollar sensor. plus toyota doesn’t make v8s anymore so that goes to show how reliable they are 🤣🤣🤣
@@vadimnesen8060 and plus if u gon talk shit get a better bitch in the photo cause it’s not a flex big homie, u found your love in the trailer park fn
I have the same code
And lost a huge amount by being lazy and not just rolling them as you saved them.
I have an 04 sequoia with PO420 code. I can't use a non fouler because my downstream O2 sensors are bracket or flange type mount. Anyone have this issue?
Bro way too much money for a used 2016 XLT
You can’t find a truck like that now bro I agree it was to much back then but imagine what it cost today
@@mightymotors2074 ohh nahh it cost like that noww I’ve been looking for a F-150 4x4 truck 2000+ years and dude they can get pretty expensive sadly it’s crazy tho
@mightymotors2074 that was 5 years ago. So, today's equivalent would be a low miles 2019 XLT correct? 2019 F-150 XLT, 28k miles, $35k. With inflation that's cheaper 😂 (2019 dollar is worth 1.28 today, 1.28 x 28,495 is 36,473.6)
