Old Man Jiu Jitsu with Sooninho
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 18 ก.ค. 2007
Old Man Jiu Jitsu is control based, not agility or strength based. We aim to be in the 1st tier in the class with young adults and definitely no 1 in our division locally.

Awesome technique! The guy looked like he was having trouble getting up at the very end 😂
Ummmm, when you’re doing sport jujitsu hugging the neck like that isn’t very common.
Hmmm what happened? :)
1st
Is the left coroted artery uncovered?
In Canto Choke, after stepping over your opponent’s head, your heel will block it
And this is why it’s a good to vary it up between a white gi and a blue gi when demonstrating.
Sorry don’t work
People natural instinct is to resist. Typically escaping submissions is the art of not resisting. Don't pull away from the submission. Find a way to lean into it and then out of it. This is a great example of that.
Reason I don't like using a gi is because you end up learning a bunch of pointless techniques like this that you'll never use irl
Gripping loose clothes is a weakness in my head.
But eating chitos whilst talking online is the real “man” ish
Lmao!!!
Mythical fyp pull
Max was here
Thx for visiting
Nice. I think that's anaconda not d'arce though
You will put hands under armpit for anaconda.
I find the hardest part about north south choke is getting your arm under their chin - any recommendations?? (I swear it's not because I have huge biceps)
I will make another posting today
love your videos.
Thank you!!!
Wow!!! thank you very much for kind words
Great technique
Thank you!
recently started my journey in jui jitsu with gracie barra UK and your videos help me learn submissions and guard passes very quickly it is very simple and not complicated like other videos. Thanks
You kept saying keep your body perpendicular or you will get swept. I did not understand what you meant by that. Perpendicular to what? Could you please help me understand?
I think he means make sure your body gets perpendicular to his or else you will get swept which makes sense. Once your body gets perpendicular, you can break the close guard and get side control.
I will post follow-up
I just posted the followup
I've just learned the X guard basic concepts at the gym, this video helped me a lot on understanding the dynamics of the sweeps, thanks!!
Glad it helped!
what school is this?
We train at Gracie Barra Westchase
Really well explained, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Keep training and have fun :)

At what time was he in deep half guard?
He was never able to set up the deep half, the top guy was demonstrating a proactive defense
@@Sooninhojiujitsu I'll agree to that.
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed
Old Man here...turn off that music so we can hear you.
Sorry, my gym always has music on. I will buy a wireless microphone asap
The video is probably good, I just can't hear you.
I am trying to get a wireless pin microphone. Sorry
Really interesting details you are showing, I am purple( with GB as well) and I learn a lot from your video. Thank you for your instructions 👍
You are so welcome!
The following video shows some combinations from the side control, so please check it out. Btw, which GB?

@@Sooninhojiujitsu thank you! GB brossard in Quebec Canada 👍
This is awesome. Technique over strength
That is the only way 150 pounds small old Asian guy can survive a bit longer :)
Love the sweep. Butterfly guard isn't something I really focus on, but I think I might start 😂
This was a very useful demonstration!
Glad it was helpful!
very detail!!!!!
Easy efficient movement , I like it. But I’m also old
Hello nice short vid with such great technique
Glad you liked it!
Prayer for your fast recovery!!
Got injured close ti my blue belt graduation. This is the type of bjj content i need to get back to training! Thank you
Great lesson. Good ideas! Keep'em coming. ALso, everyone will see better if both of you have the belt on and not let the gi hanging on the ground, covering exactly the mechanics of what we're supposed to see.
Good point! Thank you for the tips
This is gold!!!
Legend!!!!
Nice!
awesome!
Thanks!

Massive respect my friend.
Good job!!!!! So very proud of my coach, my professor, and my brother!!!
I’m proud of you Professor Soon. You put a lot of hard work and dedication into this. You did an amazing job, keep your head up. It wasn’t your time yet, but I believe it will be soon.
Thank you for the kind words as always
Thank you sensei for the lesson. It is amazing to see how much knowledge you shared with him in only 9 minutes. I had subscribed and will follow your videos!
Great advice. I like how you talk out the situation and options. Thanks!
Hey Bro, Great vid! 40+ BJJ represent ! One thing, can you talk a touch slower? It hard to follow even for someone that familiar with the positions your describing
Thanks brothah. I tend to get overly excited and talk too fast. I’ll work on slowing down and speak clearly.
