Claims for Indirect Discrimination in the Workplace, Trinity Barrister, Andrew Crammond
As a contributor to Trinity Chambers’ Employment Law Conference, specialist Employment and Discrimination barrister, Andrew Crammond delivered a talk entitled:
'Indirect Discrimination…Or Is It?' - Claims for Indirect Discrimination in the Workplace
Andrew's seminar focuses on indirect discrimination, especially in the context of the recent amendments made to the Equality Act 2010 and in particular the introduction of section 19A. The session is delivered from the practical perspective of both an employee lawyer, where there may be room for greater use of indirect discrimination; and, also an employer lawyer, and why they should consider getting ahead to protect employers from what is likely to be the inevitable (and potentially substantial) expansion of indirect discrimination claims.
Andrew’s talk covers the following topics and cases:
- Section 19A Equality Act 2010
- Protected Characteristics
- Homer v Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police [2012]
- CHEZ Razpredelenie Bulgaria AD v Kosimia za Zashtita ot Diskriminatsia [2015]
- Steer (appellant) v Stormsure Ltd (respondent) [2021]
There is a handout that accompanies the session. If you do not have a copy and would like one, please email josh@trinitychambers.co.uk.

if civil law is like an army, criminal law is like the marines..
Part 2 after the Appeal?
jones-evans, district judge in Caernarvonshire, says Lady Hales judgment on consent orders is entirely without merit. 😮
The 'jackanory' around this woman is annoying & its entirely possible that a great deal of things are without merit. Perhaps more of a fictional character whose mortal ? What she really is or isn't tends to defy description unless a disney I.Q. version of 'Rambo' & don't believe a word they say about her. She doesn't relate her life in education in a manner that rings true & something really odd about all this.
Unelected Judges have too much power. Fawning over a liberal activist judiciary does a disservice to British democracy
What will happen if the witness lie
Done get brainwashed by black history month, black history is everyday, all year round, have you ever heard white history month, never because that's how they play the racist & superiors against black people

Does the landlords right to forfeit if noted in the lease, supersede the tenants rights to the usual s8 and s21 process? And if so, why?
Very helpful thank you.....why so few views? Deserve more 😊
Abate the Lawyers and motion to God’s court - Equity. All defacto Government is over within 2-5 yrs. Human Beings will have learned real law and directly suing the party/s responsible for intentional bioweapons and intentional poisoning. Communities will come together, learn and take down this circus
Useful thank you
Is a hearing required is the case is undoubtabley proven fact? The case being totally unrebuttably fact..
Yes, thank you! Courts are so reluctant to use the word, fraud or lie in civil proceedings. Why can’t we call it what it is. Why do we need to play charades or beat around the bush? It’s a form of gaslighting when you discouraged from using the words to describe what you mean.
What sort of other remedies are you suggesting the lawyers look into?
What is the debtors position if the Money judgment was obtained obtained by fraud and forged documents by the creditor?
Many thanks for your message. If you have a specific legal query, please get in touch with the clerking team on civilclerks@trinitychambers.co.uk
A good demonstration of everything that is wrong with the justice system.. How is telling a Health Visitor that you're in a controlling relationship 'the best corroberative evidence you can get" - well in a false allegations case it would be the best evidence you can get, because it'll be the only 'evidence' you can get.. This is a silver bullet. Especially when there are so many 'how to win sole custody' guides online - basically giving a check list of things to tell people. It's such a shame that extremely important, life changing things like child arrangements are based on the balance of probabilities - basically the court putting their finger in the air. The real tragedy is the pain and suffering caused to the children - but wait a minute.. the court and legal profession wouldn't seriously want to consider the best interests of children would they.... shocking

If someones household plus your support bubble is more than 6 can you still meet out in a public place, restaurant ect?
Hello Claire, we didn't manage to cover this question in detail, but the Government implemented an exception to the "rule of six" for persons within your household & support bubble (regulation 5(1)(a) under the "Rule of Six Regulations"). The guidance dealing with this is here: www.gov.uk/guidance/north-east-of-england-local-restrictions. Please do get in touch if we can help with any specific enquiries!
