Easy Homemade Salsa
มุมมอง 1432 ปีที่แล้ว
All you need for homemade salsa is 6 cans (14.5 Oz) petite diced tomatoes, 1/2 cup distilled vinegar, and 1 pack of Mrs. Wages salsa seasoning mix. Prep your pint jars and lids by washing and sterilizing in hot water. Stir tomatoes, vinegar and seasoning mix in pot and bring to boil and simmer for 10 min. Fill jars with salsa and process in water bath for 10 min. Enjoy!
DIY Egg Tray
มุมมอง 2882 ปีที่แล้ว
If you’re looking for a neat way to organize all of your farm fresh eggs try this tray idea! All you need is a serving tray, 2-3 pieces of felt, crafting foam OR vinyl tablecloth with felt backing, wooden rulers or paint stirrers, and a hot glue gun. You can use clothespins to clip on the sections at the end if you’d like!
New Chicks!!

We just got new chicks and wanted to show you how easy it is to start your own flock.
Snow Trip
มุมมอง 1322 ปีที่แล้ว
We enjoyed a quick spontaneous trip to North Carolina to see some snow! We had a blast playing in it since we haven’t had snow in middle Georgia in 4 years! We stay at a really cute house north of Franklin, NC called the Queen House. We hope you enjoy our video of us being silly and having a blast!
Cooking Molasses
มุมมอง 3562 ปีที่แล้ว
We have a great time in Mississippi stripping cane and cooking molasses. We hope you’ll enjoy our video.
Black Rock Mountain

We enjoyed our camping trip in the North Georgia mountains. Black Rock Mountain State Park was absolutely beautiful. It was like we were camping in the clouds. We enjoyed a hike at Tallulah Gorge State Park too.
Desoto Caverns & Kymulga Grist Mill
มุมมอง 1903 ปีที่แล้ว
We took a quick trip over to Childersburg Alabama to tour Desoto Caverns and Kymulga Grist Mill and Covered Bridge. Everything was very interesting and we even found some neat things near Sylacauga and Fayetteville AL. Enjoy our adventures from our trip.
Take the pulp and dehydrate it to make strawberry power. Great on ice cream or toast.
Oh that sounds great.
Do you all lick the pot 🤪🙄
Well…not really the pot it’s cooked it. But the barrel we collect it in once we finish bottling it up. Then we wash it before the next time it’s used. It actually is put down in boiling water to melt all the molasses that’s left in the spout.
Molassie jelly 😂😂😂😂
Handblown molassies😅
We smoke the big grass in west virginia😊
Emily u did good. Whoop em papaw
Hi. Would that be 30 foot x 5 foot net? Thanks.
Yes I believe so.
yes, give that to the chickens
The chickens love the pulp
@@lifewiththewalkers2797 i've never used pectin before - never made jelly before - its a little different than i'm used to but loved your video - might go into that territory one day soon
@@trixie9867 my kids will only eat my jelly. Blackberry and peach are their favorites.
How much sugar
I list amounts in the description bar for the video but it is 4 cups of sugar.
Nice...that's the kind of old to be.
Yes it is.
Where'd you get your baskets? I've been everywhere and can't find any that have holes in the bottom like yours.
I found them at my local dollar tree.
Thank you! That's the last place I went. I found a few baskets and already have seeds sprouting.
@@1475evans I’m so glad you found one and have sprouts going.
Wow that's great
Thank you
Great video
Thank you
Thank you so much for making this so simple I tried a different one with rhubarb and strawberry she had measurements wayyyy off to the hard work and tears I flowed being a beginner and the waste from may gardening again a first time urban gardener also I grew everything myself I was so proud of my strawberries and rhubarb they were so big and juicy, I had to make something spectacular, all because the utuber gave the wrong measurements I ended up with 62 jars of syrup yeah could put them on pancakes, or a syrup drip for ice cream but that’s not what my hubby wished for but it broke my heart so I tried yours with the fruit what I still had left and it turned out amazing I got 34 jars of blue ribbon, strawberry, and strawberry rhubarb jelly and hubby said it was actually better then his momma and boy oh boy that’s a serious compliment because hers was truly the best.
Oh my goodness I’m so glad you found my video and that you made jelly that worked out. Thank you so much for letting me know. It’s so encouraging to hear and I’m glad I could help you.
love your video and how you strain your juice. I am gongin to try this. I have been using cheese cloth and work fine but I like the idea of a finer strain. I make Eleberry, apple, Blackberry and currant Jellies and Jam
Same for me. I use to use cheese cloth but the cotton flour sack dishcloth works much better. Any pull I have leftover pulp I give to my chickens and they gobble it up.
Thank you! I saw briefly your egg keeper. I would love to see how you do it!
I made a video on how to make it. Check out my other videos. It was super easy to make.
I had seen something about planting lentils in your coop and covering it with a kiddie pool or something similar and just letting them grow and then uncovering for chickens to eat, is this a possibility or had anyone tried?
I’ve seen that but never tried it. Let me know if you do and it works
My peach jelly I made yesterday did not setup. Is there a way I can salvage it?
Yes you can try to cook it again. There are specific instructions on the Sure jel box insert or online. I hope it works out.
The towel, you used to strain your berries, is that a flower sack dish towel?
Yes. It’s just a thin cotton flour sack cloth I found at Walmart. I prefer it over cheese cloth bc it holds up better and strains things clearer.
Thank you so much. I live in the Great Pacific Northwest, Seattle . We’ve lots and lots of wild blackberry bushes here. I appreciate your time. 😊
That’s awesome. Wild blackberries are the best.
Watching in August 2024
Hope it was helpful
And September
@@amandaslamm5703 hope it was helpful
The water should have covered the jars in the pot by at least an inch to two inches for 100% safe processing-
It does in my water canner. You might can tell in the video but it is at least 3 in over jars.
I prefer to boil my jelly until it just starts to sheet off the spoon, that way I know for certain that it will set. This process is more time consuming but I also prefer not to add pectin which makes things more tricky than usual
That’s great.
Oh! Oh oh oh!!! Use a measuring cup as a ladle is 100% better than a ladel which makes a mess. Thank you!
I don’t think I ever use a ladle 😂. Measuring cups here for everything.
@@lifewiththewalkers2797 Just saw someone pour their batch into a plastic pitcher and use that. I made two batches this morning using your measuring cup method, still messy, but better than a ladle!!!
I liked your video for Blackberry jelly.
Thank you
What a perfect blackberry jelly, life with the walkers.
Thank you
Nice peach jelly, life with the walkers.
Thank you
So do i only add 4 cups of water to boil with or do i do like 5 cups and expect a cup to boil off? So confused.
To cook down the fruit just cover with water and cook. The strain pulp and use amount of juice listed for jelly.
What a beautiful strawberry jelly, life with the walkers.
Thank you
Gonna try this recipe. I loved your tutorial!❤
Thank you. Hope it goes well
Music is just so loud I almost can’t hear you.
I apologize. This was one of our first videos we did and I hadn’t gotten the hang of editing.
Thank you This really did help me.🍑💞💞💞
I’m so glad!!!!!
Water is a precious resource. Stop wasting it because there are smart ways to water your seeds!
I appreciate your comment. I only sprout seeds during the winter very sparingly so this isn’t something I do on a regular basis. This works for me, as well as others, so please feel free to sprout seeds however is best for you.
The Best peaches is the GEORGIA PEACHES > THERE FREE STONE If it don't set. can always heat up again. and add more gelatin
Free stone peaches are the best
I love peaches and peach jelly 👉👉 MY FLAVORITE
We love peach jelly too
@@lifewiththewalkers2797 I will tell ya a secret? I used it in my hot sauces, and Picante Sauces. YUM
@@426superbee4 that sounds great!
can I make this from a store-bought organic juice? thanks...
Yes you can
@@lifewiththewalkers2797 thank you...
My mother used pantyhose all my life 😊
My daddy did too! How fun.
I use knee highs.
@@lindayoung2959 my daddy use to as well.
What size Sure Jell, thanks.
1.75 oz box is what I use per making
Thanks, I'm going to make some jelly soon. Great instructions!
I would like to have this strawberry jelly because its edible.
Yes it’s edible.
Steam juicer is what I use
I’d love to try that
Yep, me too. Just look at all the water getting mixed with the juice, I do not understand why anyone would do this?
@@bob_frazier I’m not sure I understand? The water cooks down the fruit making the juice.
@@lifewiththewalkers2797 You could cook down the fruit, strain for juice and not have diluted it with water. Or use a steamer, which doesn't add water to the juice?
@@bob_frazier thank you for this suggestion. We don’t have a steamer but just use what we have. I’ve never had jelly that wasn’t full of flavor using this method but do what works best for you.
I’m having a problem getting it to be of a more jelly like consistency. It’s still good on toast just a tiiiny bit runny. I think I may have not let it set long enough I got excited lol.
Hmm… you might have needed to cook it while stirring it a minute or two longer. OR let it set up longer. I usually give mine 24-48 hours to set up good.
So why not trace
I’m not sure what you mean?
@lifewiththewalkers2797 I make muscadine, mayhaw, and wild plum, beauty berry, jelly and I cook till 120 degrees. I place a glass saucer in the freezer.and when my jelly reaches temp I drizzle a few drops onto the cold saucer. And push my index finger through it .and watch how fast the part runs back together. It's called tracing. The slower in comes together tells whether it'll set or not.ive never done peach jelly or jam.my peach tree is abundantly full of friut this year and I plan on preserving them this year.ive already done the others .well plumb is lacking lol
@@rodneyfernandez5304 thank you for explaining. I have never had an issue with jelly not setting up but I could see how this would be helpful.
Thank you for clear and concise instructions! My bushes are loaded and I am just waiting on the berries to ripen!😊
That’s great. Good luck with it. It’s fun to make and so rewarding
Very good. What brand lentils are you using for good germination? I had some organic from Sprouts that most were duds. Tho my organic mung beans sprout great!
I’ll be honest I’ve always had great luck with store brand generic ones.
49 grams= 1/3 cup
I like your recipe, you see so many variations, I was raised making Jelly, so I always like new ways to do it. My mom always used Certo, I now like surejell.
I’m so glad you like this recipe. It always works perfect for me. I love surejell
Thanks again.
What is the name of the hydrometer, sir? and what level is used to measure? what level (brix) of molasses did you get? sorry if there are wrong words, I'm not good at English, I use Google Translate, please tell me, thank you, Nusantara, Indonesia
A hydrometer is an instrument used to measure relative density or specific gravity of liquids. It is usually made of glass and consists of a cylindrical stem and a bulb weighted with mercury or lead shot to make it float upright. There are different types available for purchase online. But most used for this work the same.
It is Precision Hydrometer .he got from Thomas Scientific Co. The catalog no. 6028L20 I got that off the label of the boxp
Thank you very much sir, currently by watching your video, I am trying to make it, once again thank you
@@klutuknusantara I hope that it will turn out good for you.
It’s important to see the jelly completed, cooled down and tested. Many times it either didn’t gel up enough or it’s too stiff. Some other TH-camr shows hers when it’s ready to eat, and they are always on the runny side.
Thank you for your advice. I will definitely show that later if I make another video. This jelly however did great.
😂 it is good syrup thare? I may have some things from Mississippi I'm from lavista. Neb 33:31 cool Heritage.
We love the syrup! It is a very neat heritage for sure.
So do you have a pan of water under the basket for them?
No I have a towel under them. I rinse them morning and night and drain it good
