    The crime in Kcmo itself has gotten ridiculous. Shootings in crossroads, Westport, power and light, downtown, plaza and crown center within the last year.

      Yes. I always advise my buyers to pull up all of the resources, whether that's county websites, crime reports, niche.com, even school rankings, which will all tell a story. Every person has a different comfort level for all of those rankings. Some people feel this is not a reason to stay away from the KC Metro area. Others do. Each person is different, but all need to look at resources for their comfort level for sure.

    I am not quite sure I understood the traveller part you were making.. I do know from my visits, that it’s a long drive of a flight to visit any neighboring city like St Louis, Omaha or Dallas. When you are there you are mostly ‘there’ with an effort to go to some other place.

      Hi there. Sorry for the confusion. My point was that the DNA here does not include a huge amount of bent towards people who travel all the time. Like, the DNA of NYC is (in my opinion) explorers and travelers with their home base as NYC but traveling to other places seems the norm. Here in KC, people like vacations, but they enjoying staying put here. In fact, many residents haven't explored even our most iconic places in town, like the WWI museum, or the Truman library. We are getting better, though, especially with the increase in development around town and the additions of fun activities. We have so much to do here in town and people are having more fun than even here, but it's taken time. But having a DNA as a 'traveling' city isn't part of how outsiders describe the people here.

      @@anitacordelllivinginkansascity ok, you're about the first content creator I've come across in a decade that actually took the time to communicate (ironically enough). I apologize for the quippiness of my first comment. Most people who have your format just string people along and never actually give them something useful. Because of that, there is little motivation to go digging with the chance of wasting time without reward. You would be doing yourself a favor to be direct in your videos like you're being direct with me here in the comments. You've turned my opinion around, and I want you to be successful. The Internet is full of that which is empty. If you provide rock solid content by the quality of your information and no bs approach, you will stand out. I.E. if your short form video is titled "5 of the best places to live in KC", give that information up front succinctly. Then add something like "wanna know more about these spots? Follow the link to the full video below" That gives the initial impression as respectable, reliable, valuable and upfront; here to help. Exactly what I would want in a real estate agent (which is a business known to be fraught with untrustworthy salespeople).

      THANK YOU for wanting me to succeed. I've been at my channel putting out long form video each week since December - as I've been told it takes about a year to really grow a channel. So, I've been committed to providing content, not wanting to be empty, but wanting to provide value with me and my editor working hard at that, fully knowing that I'm no expert at TH-cam and learning along the way as we go. (I guess I'm a perfect example of 'progress not perfection'. LOL It's been slow, so we added the short form videos. I will keep trucking away and tweeking my approach. (Might have to go back and look at all of the prescheduled content. EEEEEK.) But, thanks again. I truly do want to use my platform in a positive way, not with a bunch of fluff. So, thank you. and, yes. I do like to actually communicate with people who engage with me.

    You may not be able to talk about crime, but I have been a resident in KC since 1976, first in KC (80th and Troost area), then Less Summit, now the Liberty area. I try to avoid KC proper - South of the river. There is a reason that KC is in the top 10 big cities for violent crimes. The Chief's Super Bowl celebration is a prime example. Most suburbs are safer, but the crime is moving out of the city.

      Thank you for sharing your experiences and observations about living in various parts of Kansas City over the years. Curious what your favorite things are about Liberty. I need to spotlight your area in the future. You are correct. As a Realtor, I must adhere to certain guidelines that prevent me from discussing specific crime statistics. However, knowing that safety is a major concern for residents and potential homebuyers, I continuously recommend checking reliable sources and website to find the most current and detailed information about safety in different neighborhoods/areas. I love our city, as so many people do. Being informed always helps people make great decisions about where to live. Don’t know why you only listed and focused on Missouri side for jobs. Over 50% of the KC areas office space is in Johnson county and Johnson county also has the Largest economy too (GDP). As far as density goes, Overland Park has lower single family housing rates than kcmo and a higher density. Downtown Overland Park is very walkable. Actually a higher percentage of people walk to work in Overland Park than kcmo !! All this can be found on the us census website.

      Thank you for your insightful feedback and for highlighting important aspects of the Kansas City area that weren't covered in my video. You’re absolutely right about Johnson County's significant role in the region’s economy and its appeal due to its office space, GDP, and community features like walkability in Downtown Overland Park. My focus on the Missouri side in this particular video wasn't intended to only spotlight KCMO and disregard JOCO, but more to highlight some larger businesses and I went fast on that part of the video, making it only 1 minute in total, but I appreciate your point about the balance and the importance of including comprehensive information. I’m always aiming to provide the most accurate and useful content, and comments like yours help tremendously. You're right; factors like white flight have significantly influenced demographic shifts, and discussing crime is crucial for understanding community safety. I appreciate your perspective and look forward to exploring these important topics in more depth in future videos. Thanks for contributing to a meaningful conversation.

      Great question. Kansas City is known for its diverse and welcoming community, in my experience. Neighborhoods across the city celebrate diversity, with many local businesses and schools promoting inclusive policies and programs. However, as with any location, experiences can vary, and I recommend connecting with local LGBTQ+ organizations or community groups who can provide specific insights and share experiences about living in the metro area. This can give you a better understanding of the community dynamics and support available to see if Overland Park is a good fit for your family. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Summit Waves & The Bay are my favorites because they allow you to bring a cooler, just no glass! I just recently realized Summit Waves has a wave pool.🤦🏾‍♀️ I bisited multiple times before walking by it😅

      @anitacordelllivinginkansascity 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      OH wow. I didn't know they allow coolers. That's awesome and very unique indeed. Thanks for letting me know about that. And, the wave pool is also great to let people know about. My kids have loved wave pools, so it's certainly a great feature to add. Thanks for that.

    • @anitacordelllivinginkansascity
      @anitacordelllivinginkansascity 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I appreciate your opinion, however I have to disagree. There are many opportunities for employment. Case in point, I had a recent client move here from Las Vegas. They loved the area and decided to just take a shot and within 2 weeks, both had jobs and they were able to purchase a home off of that income. Also, there are multiple headquarters here. Hallmark, Cerner, Sprint. and soon to be a large base for Meta and Google. If those don't appeal, there are development plans in and around Lenexa, etc. I would have to disagree with your assessment. I do hope you find something if you are looking

      I’ve lived here most of my life and worked in IT for over 20 years. Cost of living is lower than a lot of other states, and depending on where you work, pay can be pretty good. I’ve lived over seas when I was younger and lived and visited other states as well, so I can comment on cost of living comparisons. KC is growing and there are a lot of things to see and do. The parts that have the farmland would be western KS.
