One sign of a blown head gasket. If it's a cold day and a few drops come out then it not much to worry about. If there's a worrying amount (you'll know) then your head gasket is likely blown and coolent is making its way into ur engine and exiting through the exhaust. You should check your oil to see if it's milky/cloudy and check your coolant to see if it's oily if you're concerned. In my case there wasn't any liquid exiting the exhaust, my oil was fine and my coolant was pure, but there was excessive pressure in my coolant bottle which blew my cap right off. Head gasket was blown with air escaping into coolant system.

I had an (11) MB sprinter (turbo diesel) from 11-18 ... 430k on it when I traded it. That thing was a nightmare. I did not know the intake could plug up, too ?? Thank God that was not one of the wallet mugging problems.

Hi, thank you for an informative video. My ML350 CDi starts and then dies. Have you ever come across this problem? It runs for 1-3 seconds and then dies. It has new low and high pressure pumps, new fuel rail pressure sensor, new fuel rail pressure regulating valve, new fuel filter, 6 new injectors, new fuel pump relay, new cam shaft sensor, turbo refurbished. Because of the struggling I now have to replace the battery. Day 1 after coming from workshop it starts easily, day two it starts and runs but shudders a bit and then runs perfectly. The next day it starts for 1 second and dies. Then its dead.
What fault did the diagnosis machine indicate to you?

@@car-parts2.011 Ok, I removed the Y air inlet and saw that it had a crack at the turbo inlet seal housing, I wrapped tape around it as a temp fix and the car actually started and ran for about a minute or so and then died, It showed two error messages, one is still the transmission oil cooler contact is open and the other one says exhaust back pressure too high. Now it doesn't want to start

You need to be using your meter on low ohms like 200 not 200 meg! Using the 200M range will give a false reading on most defective parts.

I think mine might be leaking oil. Its smoking in that area and it doesn't do it constantly but every now and then it will smoke a little bit from that metal circular part with the rod. Its a 2013 f150 3.5L

beggers belief. I had a garage look at my car.was told the turbo was on its way out had spent a few bob on flow meter etc i found the hose from the tailgate of turbo to the solenoid had came off.sorted in seconds.

totaly normall especialy for diesel engines with particular filter . Often driving short distace and temperature not reached for evaporig diesel from oil volume cused by not complet regeneration process . But its real preoblem when level of oil incrase on dip stick .

If it works with the turbo pressure itself, bad, but if it has a turbo solenoid valve and it moves with difficulty by hand, that is, it causes a lot of resistance, good.
@@car-parts2.011mine cause resistance but i got code P0299 , mechanic said he thought the actuator valve was faulty , mounted a different one and still doesn’t work, so now he thinks ECU not communicating with turbo or some bad wiring ?! He gave it back to me cause he said he doesn’t have time he’s got car left behind to finish..i say he prob didn’t even check..i think is the actuator..any video on how to change it ?

Happened to me but was the injection control module was bad and the car showing a code saying that this valve is bad , so first check the valve before you buy a new one , the car was an opel astra g 1.7dti 2002 , this thing is happenig to all the opel with this kind of engine because the soldering joints inside the injection module cracks because the module is placed on the engine itself , factory bad design
That statement is correct.
You had the polarity reversed on the last one to how you had it on the first two.
In this type of valves, polarity does not matter when performing this test.
