I just got fallout 4 on my PS5, first time fallouter. Game crashes several times a day until I deleted it then reinstalled it from library without the gen update. now it runs great, no crashing. Now I am enjoying the heck out of this game.

See those crashes are why I told ya I don’t try survival anymore. Everytime I get above lvl 30 I started getting the vats crashes all the time. I got so sick of losing hours of playtime. I researched it and only thing I could find was its because a script where you get hungry/tired/thirsty/ill at the same time you go into vats. I just know it did it to me dozens of times on multiple playthroughs. I never finished a survival playthrough because of it. Played the game 6-7 times on very hard and never one crash

That chest piece you said doesn’t really seem that good is literally the best chest in the game. If you get a full set of the take 15% less damage while standing and not moving you become invincible. You can just stay in one spot and shoot anything in the game and they can only harm you if you move. Perfect for sniper builds

The pristine death claw egg is tied to The Devil’s Due quest. You can either find the nest to return the egg or you sell it to the Handyman waiter in the upper stands of Diamond City.

You didn’t crit the farmer but you do have to be aware of where the bullet ends up.

Also if you finish the silver shroud quest and actually save Kent which is really tough to pull off on survival. He will go back home and in a week he will tell you to come there and he will upgrade the shroud armor. But if you really want that I’d save before the end and keep trying save him

If you actually join the brotherhood and do some quests with them you get smoke grenades you can throw down and call a vertibird to you that will fly you anywhere you want.

I think it’s about time you retire the pistol. They aren’t that good after lvl 20+. Even with the perk maxxed out they drop off. Especially with things like super mutants who take 200 shots with one. Need find a better secondary

I was laughing pretty hard at the robots trolling you. Unfortunately that follow dog meat isn’t supposed to be that hard but member when you found Ada that robot. That was a dlc called automatron. Well once you spoke to her it made those stupid robot packs ands rust devils start random spawning all over the place. I always try to avoid her at all costs as long as I can even though a few quests take you right by her. I even had her trigger without interacting with her

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it but when you know you are going to talk with people put on the +3 charisma outfit and they have hats and glasses that boost it as well. That is a +5 to charisma so you don’t fail every single speech check. I think yellow needs 6. Orange is 8 and red need 11. That way you can tell if it’s worth attempting

When I was playing Survival mode, I started with 10 endurance for solar-powered perk and High HP every level up. Water fountain at every settlement so I can refill water bottles with clean water without needing a water purifier

Also you can go to armor bench and rename all the shit your wearing. Just add a - in front of them or 1 or something. Then when you have to swap n sell you can tell your stuff and crap

O and all kidnapping are kinda timed. It never says it but like so many in game days pass and it will fail

Save that outfit he gave you. It’s the only piece of clothing in game with +3 charisma. Put it on everytime you buy and sell it will drastically change prices. Just be sure to go back to armor immediately after

And I’m sorry for the tips actually. I’m just trying give a few quality of life hints but I do quite enjoy watching you struggle and then figure the shit out. So no more tips here. You made me start another survival playthrough and Bethesda and their stupid ass update even I after all this time can perish quite fast. I accidentally agro’d one of the new content things kill pyro. Next thing I know I’m getting attacked by what was hard to my lvl 150 character on my new fresh lvl 19 survival character. I some how survive with 1hp only due to drugs luck and I was near a settlement I retreated to and got help. I sleep head off and get ganked again by the second part of that stupid content. I must have died and restarted 15 times. I was cursing everyone at Bethesda

If you’re able to buy the junkyard dog then you send it to a settlement, should have a dog house for it, and it will guard the place.

Another couple tips for ya. 1. You can do save/cancels and it works about 7/10 times. It always saves but 7/10 it stops you from losing buffs and getting the sickness/disease rolls when you sleep to do it when you go to mattress while your exploring and not an actual bed at home you gonna sleep for 8+ hours on. Click sleep for one hour and immediately hit the button for cancel. You will see the save thing in the corner but the game doesn’t count it as not enough sleep or giving you an illness. Like I said doesn’t always work if you’re not fast fingered enough. It always saves but sometimes you still get sick. 2. That gun you got. Radium rifle with burning damage is a pretty good find. You need science to modify it unfortunately but if and when you do make it an auto and use it as an o shit weapon. The faster fire rate will apply more burns and the damage and rad damage keeps enemies from regenerating health. Like if you get swapped with bunch close enemies use it. But as for it being a main weapon you need way too much science and the range is meh on it. The other reason I say don’t plan around it being a main weapon is the rad damage will heal super mutants and ghouls. So while the damage is high it’s counter productive on things you would want to one shot at a distance

I was laughing how you stumbled onto fort Hagen all Willy nilly. It is far from clear and is a huge turning point in finding your son. I was yelling at the screen keep going keep going 😝. Tip there are 2 magazines and a bobble head in there and bed towards the end. Save often in there. Once you get to the bed. Clear a little save clear a little save. You’ll thank me later. And always keep a nuka quantum on you hot keyed. They are the fastest heal in the game and can combat like the bloat fly poison you are talking about. Nothing else will even a stimpack can’t out heal things like that in survival. They are rare so I’d save them for times like that. Good luck man loving the series

You really should look into armorer, it would cut back on your skittishness. While in survival it’s not as op as in the regular game you can add stuff like dense to metal legs or chest and it cuts explosive damage down by 50%. There is asbestos lining for chest which ups the energy damage resistance and makes you immune to fire. So you add dense and an asbestos you are now safe from being one shot from a trap or rocket or molly. Like I said while you can’t tank 2-3 hits in survival of one of those you can take one and run. Also you can add shadowed and muffled which help sneak. There are also things that help scope sway and movement speed to crouching. And there are late game armor things you can add to regular clothes. You have to find the railroad and do PAM’s first 2 quests. It’s one of the most OP things in the game. I won’t spoil who they are and where but keep an eye out if you over hear about them focus on finding them and working with them until you get it. O and I don’t know if you know you helmet is one of the coolest ones in game. It might not have the best resistance but it’s animated. Go third person and move the camera in front of you and take your gun out and put it away. It actually opens and closes

Fort Hagen is tied to a main quest and the satellite array is tied to a dlc. So neither will be “cleared” until then.

Every unmarked building is some type of Easter egg if you know it. Like the plumbers one you went in and killed the two roaches and you were like is that it? You needed to look up. There was plungers all up the ceiling with some loot you could shoot down. The preacher and the zombies was a “walking dead” reference. They all have some random reason for the most part. And the lunch boxes store in ya inventory weight less so always grab them. You can make bottle cap mines with them and they are the strongest mine in the game. Comes in useful for a few encounters after you die enough times you can figure out how to draw stuff into them. Also tip. When you’re trying to sneak you have to stay crouched. You pop up and down up and down up and down. Everytime you pop up you are going to get seen and lose the sneak attack. Loving the series

Don’t sell your noodle cups. That’s both food AND water.

Hot key your stimpaks. They are automatically put on 0, zero, in the beginning.

Another tip for ya. Set up a settlement beacon somewhere. Once you get extra people you can send them to the settlements you wanna move junk from. Then next time you pass by you load them to the gills and send them to your newest one your using. Like pack mules

The way the settlement thing works is food + water is what you need in defense. So if you have 10 water and 10 food you need 20+ defense for it not to get attacked. I usually don’t worry bout that stuff til the end game. You gonna need stuff to upgrade armor and weapons more then trying to build up 30 settlements, unless you enjoy that part more. Also there is a river at sanctuary, build the water pumps that go in the water instead of the other ones. They will make way more water you can get out of your workshop every 24hrs and sell. You have ten generators already move them all back there and build as many water pumps as you have power for. And later on you can get supply lines it’s under charisma o think. Called local leader. You can chain settlements together then all the workbenches and contents are all linked. So you can go to one halfway across map and use stuff you have stored at sanctuary. But like I said that comes way later. I just build what I need at each place. A single water pump a bed most have a cooking station already. The settlers can fend for themselves til you get stronger and have surplus of resources. You need to leave settlers with at least 1 bullet or they can’t fight back and they will steal guns you have stored in containers. Also always take fusion cores out armor when you ain’t using it cause if they get attacked they will hop in it and you will struggle to find it and they will destroy all the pieces and you will have to hunt for which settler is carrying the broken pieces. Also pro tip: you can scrap things in settlement mode like containers and safes and the contents will go directly to the workbench so you don’t have to do that running back and forth stuff plus saves from picking safes when you find one in a settlement
