Sadly this is true for any deck. I have seen really popular decks be copied by companies like SHEIN, Temu & sellers on eBay & Amazon. This was bought for me as a gift & doesn’t have any scan-codes so am not sure if it’s a copy or the real deal. Any deck I discover to be a fake, if I love it I go out of my way to buy the real version. The fake one I use in spells & rituals so it doesn’t go to waste. Often this means cards are burned, cut or added to charm bags where they will get messy etc.

Hi, thank you for your question. I use this deck nearly every week, sometimes more. It fast became one of my favourite decks & it goes so well with many of my other decks too. I love it!

That’s all changed recently. They used to wrap the candle in paper, the oil was in bubble wrap & everything else was in bags. Do this is a recent change for some reason. I would refer them to go back to how it was.

Only you will know if it is a deck that resonates with you or not, perhaps meditate upon it & the art work. See if you can get any spiritual guidance. Also do you have a purpose in mind for it? That sometimes helps me make up my mind. I personally adore this deck. It works well with my ancestors & animal spirit guides that I work with. Blessings

A lot of companies are using glass bottles now & the plastic can be recycled. There isn’t an easy answer to this so I advise doing what makes you feel comfortable.

The bowl stunning & I have used it a lot for offerings. I haven’t been disappointed by any of their boxes, the items are always so lovely & well designed. I like how unique they are & they don’t repeat box themes which is nice.

I have been working with Hekate for 26 years now. I have a special crossroads that I work with her at, one that she selected & told me to use. I make offerings there regularly, gather crossroads dirt & meditate there. I like to go there on the dark moon with offerings & link it into my Deipnon ritual that I do very single month. 🙂

All books on demons, monsters & spirits will mention the succubus & incubus. There are actually many versions in the law about them so it will also depend which version you want to work with. None of the books will tell you specifically how to live with them. For that you will need books on magically working with spirits in general to learn how to interact & communicate with them so you can forge a relationship that works for you. Also I recommend researching the mythology about them to learn about their likes & dislikes so you know how to respect them, make offerings to them & know what to avoid. Blessings

How do you find working with Zeus, if you don’t mind me asking? I have connected strongly with Helios which I didn’t expect & I am exploring my connection with Persephone & hades. I have enjoyed praying hellenically to them & working them into daily things that I do. For example I now dedicate nature walks to Persephone & bless my home with Hestia.

@@TheCityWitchUK I don't treat that spirit by treating wanting something all the time I just respect him give offerings and let him be. He appreciates. We watch sports on tv and offer him a beer. I don't bet on games but I would have made some money if I did. He is a sports junkie. Honest not lying

Hi, thank you for your questions. To answer your first question, all my book reviews are my own thoughts & opinions based on my personal experiences as I worked my way through the book. I do my best to keep reviews as honest as I possibly can & this applies to all books that I read & review. Honesty is my standard, nothing more, nothing less. I do not expect everyone to agree with my reviews & I open up this space for people to chat about their thoughts on the book in an honest but friendly way. I will not tolerate abuse or nasty behaviour on my platform. If a practise is closed then it is closed & I do my best not to speak about them. However the point of reading books on witchcraft, the occult & spirituality is to learn, how else are you going to figure out what works for you & recognise what is closed or not. I am sure at some point unknowingly that I may have read a book that touched on things that were from a closed practises. I try my best to work on my practise to remove things that I discover to be closed, but I am not perfect & all I can do is work at it. Santa Muerte is open to anyone & isn’t closed. There maybe Mexican practises that are closed that she is included in but plenty of books & key speakers have stated she herself is open to anyone & she has millions of divotees from all over the world. Should that ever change, I will cross that bridge when I come to it but at the moment I will continue my journey with her to its natural conclusion. Since the United Kingdom was part of the EU right up until 2020, am not sure it would be that easy to close off all European practises, after all many people here will have been part of those practises all their lives & who isn’t to say we won’t return to the EU at some point in the future. Your last question is far more complex & requires a lot more thought. I am not sure even then I would have the answer & it’s not as simple as saying yes or no. @@TheCityWitchUK you seem to have missed the point of my question. My question is, can there be “closed” rituals and practices when it comes to European spirituality on your view? Or do you have a double standard? Do you treat European spirituality as “open” to all and non European cultures as the only ones who can be closed? When you say “closed” I take that to mean that you believe some rituals may only be practiced by the ethnicities which created them, and if so, do you also think this can apply to native European practices and rituals?

My understanding of a closed practice is that it isn’t open to just anyone. That you ether have to be imitated/invited into it or born into it. There are things in some cultures that are just not meant for everyone & there are very good reasons for that. At the moment Yes, I think rituals & practises can be closed from European spiritualities. Many European spiritual practises are open, but am sure there are some that are closed. New practises & faiths are being developed everyday, they have the right to choose if they want to be open to anyone or closed. It doesn’t matter where they come from or who develops them. Secrecy in some cases is needed & often necessary. So I am of the opinion that a closed practise can be from any culture, background or faith. However, many of the ones that I know about are from long standing practises from more marginalised groups. I don’t think it is just limited to practises from an ethnic background/origin. Just because I haven’t come across one yet doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I am stilling learning about what is & isn’t closed & am finding it’s not always as simple as it may seem. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this subject if you care to share them?

@@TheCityWitchUK yes, I’ll share my thoughts. I don’t think that closed practices should be a thing. And I think if someone gets offended because I perform their “closed” practice then they need to grow a tougher skin. Offense is taken, not given. I think modernity is too soft and overly concerned with feelings. It coddles people and turns them into whiny little infants. And I think white Europeans are treated unfairly, with a double standard. They are told that they don’t have a culture, that they can’t be exclusive or ethnocentric while it is deemed acceptable for every other group to be ethnocentric or exclusive. I think standards should be applied equally to all groups because when they aren’t, it’s hateful and racist. I think white guilt is toxic and it is destroying Europeans. I think Santa Muerte isn’t totally Mexican but an amalgamation of Aztec and the European grim reaper. I think Holy Death belongs to no group of people, or rather all groups belong to her. She is universal. I think She goes by many names, and in Norse mythology She is the guardian of Hel.

@J.T.Stillwell3 Thank you for your thoughts. You have an interesting view on closed practises. One could argue that by saying nothing should be closed & everyone should have access to all knowledge no matter the practise it comes from, is a little entitled. Entitlement can be just as toxic as exclusion if used to gain access to things for the wrong reasons. While I am of the mind that knowledge should be available to all, I also believe that some people are not ready to learn certain things & that by being kept from it it is a form of protection. Then there is the proving you are worthy & ready for something through hard work, dedication & demonstrating your level of commitment. There is something to be said for earning your place rather than having everything just handed to you. I also think it’s sad how institutions these days are trying to separate us all & keep us in a state of ignorance or intolerance. I have noticed some of what to you said as well, like people being coddled, younger generations whining things are not fair & everyone gets a participation star even if you didn’t win. It’s gone too far, however am not sure the answer is to allow everyone access to all knowledge. In the wrong hands it could be very dangerous depending on the knowledge of course. Santa Muerte is a very interesting Deity, with a rich colourful background. My research took me to the Aztec’s, where she was worshipped as a sun goddess originally. She didn’t become associated with death until much later. Some say she isn’t even Aztec at all & that she appeared in Mexican culture later after the Spanish had left but I think she is the Aztec goddess & she just evolved. To my knowledge she isn’t closed & I haven’t seen any info to suggest she is. She is part of many practises & many worship her world wide. I have watched videos where people have suggested she should be closed but I don’t think that will happen. I believe all deities are their own person & not the same. So Hel from Norse mythology would not be the same as Santa Muerte, nor is Azreal the same as Santa Muerte. They are all unique & different with their own personalities. Thank you for your thoughts. I appreciate your honesty.

She actually tells you that in her book, however that doesn’t mean the book is good or that the content is accurate. In my opinion the best parts of the book came from other practitioners who added in spells & rituals. You can tell the years of knowledge & experience that came from them. The rest of the book was not great. If you got something from it, then that is all that matters but if you haven’t read it I would advise reading it first to see for yourself. I personally did not enjoy this book, nor did any of my group & colleagues in the community.

I plan to read it soon. Her interviews were useful as a gauge of her sincerity as a practitioner before buying it. She seems to be very knowledgeable of working with Santisima Muerte, Mexican culture, and the history of the folk saint. Perhaps after I read the book I can see the grounds for your critiques. It’s a lovely deck, such lovely colours & art work. I would have liked for the minor cards to be a bit more detailed than they are but it’s still a beautiful deck.
