I think it depends on the type of job + the person! For me, I'm most effective working from home. I wouldn't consider it "easy" compared to doing the same job in office - it's the same output, I can just work during the times I function best rather than being boxed into set office hours. I'm heavily introverted though & I know plenty of extroverts who benefit more from being in office, doing the same job I do! I can imagine there are plenty of jobs where working from home would be difficult or cumbersome, though (like if your job requires machinery/equipment or frequent collaboration with a team).

I graduated pre pandemic so it was a little easier than nowadays...I know right now it's basically impossible :( I would talk to your network (even parents, siblings, old professors, old bosses, old colleagues) or attend networking events if they're available to you. It seems the big differentiator with candidates right now is less about skill and more about who you know (which isn't fair, but seems to be the reality). Also, if you go on Upwork.com, create a profile, there's "part time to full time" or "contract to FTE" positions posted all the time. You start out as a contractor for a certain period of time and then if all goes well, they bring you on full-time.
