Towards the end when they proclaim the Byzantine emperors and literally says "Constantine equal to the apostles" (Constantine is not a Latin rite saint ) He also says acceptance of all the Orthodox Fathers and the Orthodox church this includes Photios, Gregory Palamas, Mark of Ephesus who are considered heretics in the Latin rite. You can Google the entire text of the Synodikon. Infact in 5:28 they condemn anyone who does not believe Jesus Voluntarily went to the cross by extension this anathemizes the Latin dogma of the IC as we celebrate the Dormition (falling asleep) while Latins refuse to think her death is linked to her inheriting ancestral sin and thus rejecting the Orthodox recieved canons of Carthage. The Synodikon of Orthodoxy is a statement as to why we are the correct faith as opposed to the surrounding sects and past heresies.

the first use of the "anathema" word was said by saint Paul in the Letter to the Galatians. and continued to be used in most ecumenical councils to excomunicate those who knew the doctrine of the Church (defined in his dogmas and traditions) and even so chose the heterodoxy. anathema not is those who don't know the truth, but those who rejected it.

Because our custom is to commemorate the local hierarch. Traditionally, the patriarch was the only bishop who commemorated the Pope and other patriarchs. We commemorate the Pope after the consecration in the Sunday Divine liturgy.

because the pope is not the patriarch of the Melkite Church. it is not necessary to mention the supreme patriarch - in fact, it is the local patriarch who is essential. if the patriarch is catholic, why should they ensure their catholicity even more?

I have heard in the Latin rite they used to do this with a major ceremony like you see on the movie Beckett where he excommunicated lord Gilbert for murdering a priest but now it’s just a declared statement in modern times by a bishop and only after the person is given time to repent after being informed Tell me this is not an excommunication that would be an awe full thing both to see and for the soul incurring it thought they did it to themselves
